Does what it says it does

Unfortunately my spidey senses were tingling due to suspicious behaviors. I didn’t want to go off half cocked without proof so I purchased the Optimus. Instructions are straight forward. Battery lasted about 8 days on average. Put it under back seat and never had an issue with signal or anything. Suspicions confirmed. Did it’s job so that I now can do mine.

Easy to use, does the trick

I bought one of these to keep track of a vehicle. Didn't use it at first, and set it aside. When I went to use it, I had lost the directions, so I emailed the company -- they emailed me back within the hour -- pretty impressive. It's simple to set up! For a totally honest review, here are all my thoughts: The tracker works well, although not exact, but that is to be expected, really. It gives you a general enough idea of where the vehicle is that you can figure it out. The movement alert is pretty touchy -- goes off a LOT, maybe even if there is wind, so, when the vehicle isn't in use, I just turn the movement alert off. I also bought the magnetic case to attach the tracker to the underside of the vehicle, and it works great! As for battery life, I noticed some complaints about it being too short -- I find it lasts about 2 weeks, as promised. If you keep every alert on "on" all the time, that may wear it out faster, but I really don't find it to be an issue. And it's easy. I like it so well that I ordered a 2nd one, for another vehicle. And you can name them yourself, to make it easy to differentiate between them, if you have more than one. Now, I will compare it to Verizon's hum, which I also own. The hum is much more specific on location, and has live coverage -- meaning I can actually watch the vehicle travel (on the hum map). The Optimus tracker is not live -- but you just have to keep pressing the "refresh" icon, and you can follow along that way. But I definitely prefer the Optimus thus far, because the hum OFTEN doesn't work properly -- I would never give the hum a good review, frankly. I've only been using the Optimus tracker for 6 months or so, and definitely recommend it. And their customer service is unparalleled! When is the last time you called a company and got a person on the phone (immediately!) who was kind and helpful? That's the experience I had with the people at Optimus. I don't write many reviews, but wanted to make sure to do this one because I'm so pleased! :)

A great purchase with constant updates for tracking

So far, this has been a great purchase. I also ordered the hardwire kit (routed through my ACC fuse so it powers/charges it only when the key is engaged/engine is on). Tracking has been pretty darn accurate providing a detailed history of movement and the fee was a flat $19.95 with (I'd guess, based on what I see) 10 second interval updates.

Works perfectly!

I purchased this for my daughter who is a freshman here at our local college. It is very accurate with a battery life of about 3 days....depending on how often you choose for it to report back to you. I did not get this to be nosy, but I just have piece of mind knowing that my daughter is arriving safely at college and her classes. She just began driving at the age of 18 and she drives to a parking lot near campus. She then takes a public bus to go to classes on campus and then she has one off campus, downtown. She just tosses it in her backpack and off she goes! You can call me a helicopter parent all you want, but if something were to ever happen it may be the key to locating her quickly. Her location has been accurate about 98% of the time. There are online options to customize your experience. There is an app on my phone that I can also use with the Optimus 2.0. After purchasing this device, there is a monthly fee of $19.95. It is well worth it. My only issue is that it is hard to turn on, so I just plug it in and it turns right on for me. Love this product! High recommended. I have not had to use tech support, so I did not rate it.

Deserves TEN STARS - Optimus client service is JUST PLAIN AWESOME! - and the product and software does everything promised.

As can sometimes happen, Amazon accidently shipped me a returned unit that did not include charger, cable etc. Not sure about what I should have received or what the next steps were, I called Optimus and spoke with Daniel M....and WOW did this guy step up to the plate and more! He worked over the phone with me to get the unit I received up and running right then....even though it was after 5PM his time. THEN...he offered to express ship a NEW replacement unit directly to me to make things right, with a return envelope for the unit sent by Amazon. (again...no hit on Amazon...things sometimes happen) If every company supported clients this way....and every company had members like Daniel....wouldn't that be great! AND....not overlooking the fact that the unit works great, software works well.....I couldn't be happier! You will not be disappointed in the product or Optimus

Did great for our cross country trip!

Really great tracker! I’m in the middle of using it for a cross country trip and it’s working excellent. We put it in our moving truck because we heard from someone that there are more instances of people stealing the actual truck these days then actually breaking the lock and stealing the items inside. That got me paranoid so not only do I have a hard to break lock, I figured it couldn’t hurt to setup some extra precautions. You can also set alerts for when it starts moving so if something were to happen while in our motel, I’d be alerted. I’m sure there are dozens of other real world applications you could use this for, but this was all I needed it for and it’s working great. Had to leave a review. Also, I was skeptical buying another one here on Amazon because it only used 2G signal to send it’s data and I was worried about dead zones but I believe this one uses 3G. I could be mistaken, but so far no loss of coverage.

Amazing little tool!!

Amazing little tool!! It really gives me peace of mind. I use it to track my daughter to school and so far is fantastically working. I am able to see the exact time when she leaves home, arrives to school and bi-versa. I am excited, I will order another one to track my son, he is a new driver and as teenager he is getting out with his friends. It is just amazing! I highly recommend it!!

Great product, poor battery life

Best thing ever if you want to keep track of a certain someone! Shows the exact location and if they’re moving it even shows their speed. Only down side is the battery life.

this is the best unit you could purchase for the basic user like ...

I bought this as a gift for my friend that really needed it. I did careful research for awhile before deciding on which one to buy. I had a few different ones that I was looking at, and was really weighing all the options. Since this was for my friend I had the added pressure not to let them down. I settled on this product for many reasons. I would definitely say that overall, this is the best unit you could purchase for the basic user like us. Super easy to set up...super easy interface and app...super easy to decipher the data. This is important for me because the person I bought it for is not a native english speaker. My primary concern was the battery life. We did the least frequent updates option (the standard on the site) and that was completely efficient at giving you the information you need. With that option, the battery lasted between 4-6 days... The entire process is pretty easy to figure it out, If you cant figure it out, the customer service is fantastic. You can tell when a company is truly trying to put out a great product. These guys are really working hard to do that. If you happen to have any questions..they get back to you very quickly. They can probably sense that some folks might be anxious to use this and they are super helpful. One tip...was concerned about the flashing lights on the unit possibly giving it away. If you buy that magnetic box for a vehicle, that solves the problem. You can’t see anything once it’s in that box. For one of hers, ..we just stuck a small piece of black gaffers tape on top of the lights, problem solved.

Shout out to parents of teenagers! GET A TRACKER!

Message to all parents on teenagers!!! Get a tracker! I wish I had known sooner, I could have caught all the lies! I never thought I was being manipulate until I got the tracker, before that, I thought I was the crazy one, over reacting and irrational. Well, the tracker proved I was far from it. My 18 year old is not the child I thought I knew. No, he is a pot smoking drug dealer!!!! and I have the tracker to prove it. All the while, he told me he needed money for gas, for school, for a hair cut, as he was asking I was tracking his dope dealing activities. Now I know, am not the fool anymore. Only issue is that I dropped the tracker in a spot and I cant retrieve it and the battery is going out. But it doesn't matter, I got my validation and I am cutting him loose.
