An excellent choice

After adding a wireless security camera to my home, I found that the cameras using the 2.4 GHz band wreaked havoc on my wireless sonnection speeds which were also utilizing the same 2.4GHz band of my dual band router. Since my laptop was only able to make use of this band, I purchased the Net-Dyn adapter so I could use the 5 GHz band available to me by my router. After installing the drivers and the adapter, I now have download speeds on my laptop that are close to an Ethernet hardwired connection. I would highly recommend this adapter for anyone who wants the ability to access the 5 GHz band if they have a dual band router and there current computer does not offer dual band capabilities. Be advised that I originally loaded the wlan utilities and the drivers but found that windows 10 that the wlan utilities were less then ideal. I then deleted the software and reinstall using just the drivers and found this to be extremely satisfying. I ws able to use the included cd rom disk to load the drivers but if you do not have a cd drive, you can download the need software from the Net-Dyn website. This ranks right up there with probably one of the best purchases I have made in the last year.

Great Little Adapter

I am very impressed with this little adapter. This adapter allows me to access my Internet (wifi) when I'm out back in the shed or in the garage. I ran a speed test as well and my upload and download speeds are higher. This is a great little adapter. It was easy to set up. I had it set up in 5 minutes or less.

N600 works extremely well with Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan

1. This N600 adapter works extremely well on my MacBook Pro (2011) model, running Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan. The 5GHZ band for this works extremely well, increasing both speed and distance significantly. The internal Wi-Fi adapter on this MacBook Pro has marginal performance at best and is limited to 2.4GHz. 2. There is quite a bit of mis-information pertaining to compatibility of the N600 with Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan posted in the user questions on the listing for this product on Amazon.com. The drivers, which must be downloaded per the furnished instructions, are definitely compatible with Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan 3. In order to use this adapter with the MacBook Pro, we found it very useful to also purchase the following reversible right angle USB adapter, so that this adapter does not stick straight out from the MacBook Pro. Works great, but be careful!!!

My current router is located in a bedroom closet and is almost 75 feet from my where I frequently use my laptop. I kept noticing spotty WiFi signals so I decided to try this device. It's working great, my WiFi strength is better then it has every been. Now I don't have to replace my old modem. The one downside to that it sticks out pretty far on the outside the computer. I used a similar product and I wanted to see if this worked better and so far it does. My only hope is that it doesn't get broken, due to forgetfulness. It looks like the flash drive but you remove a flash drive after you finish using it. This has to stay plugged in. But I would recommend this device to anyone who needs a great WiFi signal.

IF YOU HAVE A NEED FOR SPEED.....

Ok, when I purchased this, I thought I was buying a flash drive, I was so bummed when I received it and realized I had ordered the wrong thing. Then I started reading up on it and thought I'd give it a try anyway. What could it hurt? I stream loads of movies online and usually at night while lying in bed. I noticed my connection wasn't as good as it should have been. The movies would stop and and the connection would have to "catch up". There was nothing that aggravated me more than an interrupted movie. I was a bit intimidated by this little thing but got over that real quick. I don't have a disc drive on my lap top but there are instructions on their website [...]so you can download the software from there. Once I got it up and running....OH MY GOODNESS!!! I was amazed! I was able to watch movies without interruptions and the speed of this little thing was amazing! I tested it out by going to every room in our home and outside as well. Not one little lapse in connectivity or slowing of speed!!! I have Windows 8 and it works well with it. It also has a LIFETIME WARRANTY!! The only little thing I found that I wish they would change is that this has to remain plugged in and Im afraid that it will snap off because of my clumsiness..but as well as it works...even something like that does not make me want to give it less than 5 stars!

I only wish all consumer electronics purchases were as satisfying as this one.

Purchased this to replace an old Linksys wireless bridge (normally used with IP phones) that I was using to wirelessly connect an older Dell XP box to my home nextwork (still using the older 802.11g, so I didn't need the more expensive option). I wish the old Linksys part had died much sooner! Even plugged into an external USB port extender, this thing brought flawless wireless connectivity to my old machine (at the exact same location) with much greater speed. Installation was about as close to plug-and-play as you can get. Took all of a minute or two, tops, with very easy to follow instructions included in the box with the mini-CD driver disk. Hats off to the customer service/marketing guys for having fun with a normally dry side of businesses. I actually READ all of the followup emails just because they were so entertaining, and at the same time informative (if you somehow missed the instructions in the box). I have no reason to doubt their free lifetime replacement guarantee, which is truly just icing on the cake if such an inexpensive wireless USB adapter as this were to ever fail. Too soon for me to comment on longevity yet, but at least for the first week it's been rock solid.

Wish I Had Bought This Long Ago

Lightening can strike twice, and three times and well, umpteen times. For some reason my internet line into the house has been struck over and over. I have had to replace everything from just the cord to the modem to the wifi card to the motherboard to the whole computer. (In fairness it is my house, lol, it has also knocked out my microwave and a tv) So after being hit a couple of weeks ago and losing the wifi adapter card AGAIN, I took a chance on this lovely USB wireless adapter. I had put it off afraid of a slow connection and problems with my network. No such thing! There may be a small difference but it is hardly noticeable. I can stream my Acorn TV, Youtube, etc. with no problems. My network with wireless printer and other things is just fine. I am very pleased.

In spite of a minor assembly glitch, it worked perfectly right out of the gate, 100+ mbs!

Adapter arrived on time and worked right out of the gate. I installed it into a USB 2.0 port, loaded the driver, and was good to go. I'm now getting 100-120 mbs wireless download speeds. Awesome! Why not five stars? Well, when I opened the box, the housing on the device was not completely sealed. I found that some of the plastic catches wouldn't 'click'. So I took the housing apart (it easily separates into two parts; a case and a lid) to examine the cause. It turned out that the circuit board/USB connector assembly (all one piece) wasn't sitting in the housing correctly. It needed to be flipped 180 degrees in order to sit correctly so the two housing parts would meet and close securely. Once I did this, it closed with no issue, and has been working perfectly since. They could take an extra five seconds to make sure the assembly is oriented correctly before shipping. Still, it's working spectacularly (nearly an order of magnitude faster than the Edimax adapter I had before, my computer has never been faster downloading), and would definitely recommend. Update (2017.03.09): well, you gotta love when the vendor responds with an immediate, supportive response. Another star!

I bought a different WiFi adapter before this one and it completely sucked and I couldn't even install because I kept getting error message. Do you think the company posted any links to help me out? Heck no! So I just returned. (You get what you pay for!) So the next time I went looking, I purchased this Net-Dyn. The company sent me install instructions BEFORE the package even arrived. When I received the adapter, it was easy as 5 mins to install. And they have a LIFETIME guarantee.... this was a NO BRAINER!!!! I'm totally recommending this company and this device to all my friends. Cheaper than my Belkin and awesome support! They are clearly a winner.

I was not bribed by any sale representative with "Double-Chocolate Chip Cookies" when I first posted a 5-star rating for this product shortly after receiving and using it, firstly stated. However, in light of an email I recently discovered in my inbox from Net-Dyn, I felt inspired to write this review to reward a company who chose to ask in a non-demanding, and humorous way, to review their product as a reward for their choices in "how2plea4review101". This was purchased as a gift for a family member with an emotional attatchment to an XP computer, google "windows xp" if you are 18 or younger... The computer only had an MSN modem for dial-up beforehand, and it had not spoken to the internet since the time when it was only a series of tubes(!!!). Or the better of a decade, when I got this adapter card, I inserted the CD and card into the computer, turned the computer on and hit "search for drivers automatically." Instant 5ghz wifi on a Dell XP with no fuss, or hair pulling. 😂 Gave a 5-star rating that very moment, it was very quick, simple, and a monkey could have even done it if they were not so pre-occupied with 💩 flinging and the such. But I enjoyed seeing a company with some sense who can plea for reviews without demanding them or asserting that I need to reciprocate (review) in order to be socially appropriate. those cookies though, would you give them up when I demand them from you!?!?! I thought not!😂
