A Requirement for Any Woodworking Tool Collection
I've used these of several projects and don't know how I got along without them. The Swanson Speed Square is everything people say about them. If you have a circular saw and don't have a Speed Square yet, buy it now. You'll see why for yourself, soon enough. If you want to get an idea beforehand, look up some videos online!

Super-versatile must-have even for amateur woodworkers.
I didn't realize I needed this until I saw it on a slick deal website, but these are highly indispensable for anyone needing to install appliances or do woodworking, framing, etc. I spent all kinds of time trying to get square cuts on my table saw and circular saw just perfect and this makes it child's play. I especially like the notches that let you run a "rip line" by resting your pencil point in the notch while dragging the base along the material's edge.

Very handy to have
Work great. I use them daily -- for cut lines and for sanity checks, since I don't have the most accurate setup yet. I wish they had finer markings (large one is in 1/4", smaller one is in 1/8" increments), but that's not really their intended use, so can't fault them.

You won't regret getting these for your shop.
I have several plastic ones that I use constantly in construction. I got these to use at home in my wood shop. Good quality and made in the US. I wish I had gotten them sooner. I also use them to position pieces when I am tack welding steel into a jig. Take them out before I weld the pieces up solid. Good purchase.

12" makes this set worth it.
First thing I did is check thesee for square, they pass. They are a bit rough however and you may feel the need to touch them up with a file. I find I have been grabbing the 12" whenever I need a square. Don't know how I got along without a big one.

Both Sizes work Great for me!
Woodworking game changer. I bought the 7/12 combo. I'm relatively new to woodworking, but wanted to get a couple good speed squares. For the price, I assumed they would be 1/100" or so off (you get what you pay for in this realm) ... These aren't $500 speed squares that are square down to the smallest of margins. For my daily/basic woodworking needs, they work great, as they should for 95% of woodworkers. Craftsmen that rely on 100% accuracy, I'd spend your money on an artisan speed square somewhere else :)

Handy!
Great tool to have and use. I'm a beginner at carpentry and just building a few DIY projects. Must have, it makes life so much easier!

Great Value
Light, heavy duty, accurate, and the Blue Book included is a real help--little tricks of the trade. Good for a reminder even for an experienced carpenter, but a great learning tool for a novice or home handyman.

Wish I'd gotten these a long time ago!
I never knew what I was missing until I got these. I watched a video of the best way to cut Hardie Planks (unless you have a specialty shears), using the score and snap method. The installer used a 12" speed square in the video. I shopped for some and discovered this offer which is very cost effective and includes a 6" and a detailed guide. I absolutely love these. My score and snap routine was flawless (thanks to James 's video) and I'm loving the convenience of marking boards for cuts and having a guide by virtue of the speed squares. Obviously, there are other uses for them which I haven't enjoyed yet. I've already gotten my money's worth.
