Great v-slicer
Wow, this thing rocks. It replaced a straight bladed mandoline, and there is no comparison. The straight bladed version couldn't handle tomatoes, onions or most other veggies without tearing the back of the item, therefore losing their uniformity. NOT a problem with this slicer, it has handled everything we have thrown at it, and done it almost perfectly. The extra blades come in a storage box which allows all of the blades to be stored away from the unit (which is great when it is store high on a shelf). My only caution would be that you need to pay close attention to the dials, in that the closest dial to the large blade actually engages the cross cut blades that spin from the bottom, which is a problem if you are holding the unit from the side with your finger/thumb on top. The dial in the rear is actually the adjustment dial for the large v-blade. I am sure this would be adequately covered in the directions, but like most probably do, we got it out of the box and started playing with it (we got lucky and didn't cut ourselves, but only by luck). That isn't a critique, other than to read the instructions first. The v-slicer makes SO much difference!

Great design and functionality
This is by far the best quality Mandoline Slicer I've seen. The design is intuitive, it's obvious that the makers put a lot of thought into the design and take pride in their work. This little implement has become indispensable in my kitchen. A word of caution, it's really sharp. When I first used it I had just finished my 14th consecutive night shift and I had been up for over 24 hours. I started to test it out with a potato and in my excitement and impaired judgement I didn't bother to use the vegetable holder that comes with it. That was a mistake, long story short, it bit me pretty good, took the tip of my finger right off, a nice clean cut right through the nail too, like what a good samurai sword does in the movies. Bottom line, it works great but please don't get careless.

5/5 - I do solemnly recommend
I bought this slicer primarily to make cinnamon apple chips. Last Christmas I tasted a finely made sample of some out of Minnesota. They were expensive but I was hooked and had to figure out how to make them on my own. After experimenting in the kitchen with variations of slicing, drying, baking, dusting, and different apples I realized one of the most important steps was having apples sliced evenly to exactly the right thickness. I shopped around online very carefully for a few months. Finally I ordered the Müeller VPro from amazon.com. Without any complication this thing simply adjusted to the correct thickness and sliced with perfection. I slice through the whole apple not even worrying about the seeds. To be able to reproduce with reasonable similarity the gourmet apple chips of a small shop whenever I want brings me great satisfaction. This slicer was critical to whole thing. Thanks for making a great product!

Great quality and reasonable cost
This mandolin is very similar to some of the more expensive ones, like the Cuisinart (which I also have) and the OXO. The v-blade seems to cut a little easier than the flat blades on other mandolins. The adjustable thickness is almost the same as the Cuisinart. Less expensive mandolins do not seem to have the option of several different thicknesses of slices. The legs are sturdy and the mandolin does not seem to move around a lot on the counter. I am looking forward to making some waffle fries with the ripple cutter and using it to grate cheese.

Just perfect!
The Mueller V-Pro 5 Blade Mandoline Slicer is wonderful! I don't know why I waited to get one. This is so much easier than slicing by hand. Adjustable thickness and the ability to julienne is added bonus. The slicer is very sturdy and the blade is razor sharp so slicing is effortless. The food pusher is hefty and large so I don't have to get my fingers anywhere near the blades, a feature I really like! The fold back guard on the julienne blade and the fact that everything comes apart for cleaning assures this will be a well-loved addition to my kitchen. Thanks, Mueller!

Snazzy Slicer
Very nice product. It was a little more expensive than other slicers, but I was looking for an appliance that would last. I was looking for a Mandolin slicer that would last, and I found it! This slicer is made of thick heavy duty plastic, cleans easy, and hasn't warped over the last several months even with dishwasher cleaning. Super sharp blades store neatly in a plastic case, and the slicer body collapses for easy storage. This is a huge advantage over other slicers! A variety of blades are included which will cut any vegetable or fruit any way you want it. The adjustable knob makes it easy to get the perfect thickness. Each 'click' makes a difference of about 1mm, so you can be very exact with cuts. I use this most often to thin slice apples to make baked apple chips or thin slice tomatoes for homemade pizza, but I've used it for many other things. No decease in performance after several months of use, and the blades are still razor sharp. In fact, the blades are so sharp that it can be tempting to use the slicer without the hand guard. Don't do it. Save yourself (and your fingers) a trip to Urgent Care.

Well made product, but the mailing process was irresponsible
I ordered the V-Pro 5 Blade Mandoline Slicer and it arrived very quickly. But I was quite upset because this order was mailed in its original box. I don't think that box is supposed to use as a mailing box. The cardboard is so thin. When it arrived, the box was almost beaten up. When I just got the box, I almost wanted to send it back right away. But when I took the product out of the beaten box, the product looked okay. So I thought I would like to try it anyway. And I did. The mandoline worked very well, the material was very smooth and sturdy. I used it to cut some nice apple chips. I do appreciate how easy it is to operate and clean the mandoline. Thank you for the wonderful product which survived the irresponsible mailing process and gave me a happy surprise in the end.

This is amazing. Where has it been my whole life.
Got this as an early birthday gift from my biggest fan of when I cook/create meals. (My mum) I’ve been apprehensive of a mandolin besides cutting my fingers off they seemed like a gadget. I can cut vegetables fruit whatever the same thickness fast. I can julienne in a few seconds I thought. This thing comes along and wow. Does everything. Killer holder for holding the medium bring sliced. It stands up orvsits on a bowel. A ton of different slicing grating inserts. Adjustable from 1-9mm oh man. Fell in love. I use it for root veggie fries (julienne). Fruit for crepes (so thin, grating cheese, zesting, and not grating my finger tips. It’s one of those items you think is a waste until you use it!! Like my stand mixer/ you think meh- don’t need that silly tool. WRONG it saves time makes life easier and safer. My only complaint and it’s a dumb one because I’m obsessed with organizing and storage. Is that even though the blade inserts have a sexy box for the ones not being used you still have one in the machine and you have to get an odd fitting storage tote for it a 7 quart plastic bin is perfect but a very very small price to pay for a tool that makes quick work of many tasks. You won’t regret. Plus made in Austria!!

My New Favorite Kitchen Gadget
After years of desperately using bread knives to slice tomatoes, onions, and cukes paper thin -- and suffering multiple cuts -- my sister introduced me to the mandoline! I came to amazon.com to learn more and research options, and this mandoline was the highest rated ... by lots of folks ... and reasonably priced. I wasn't disappointed. Design is 5-star; quality is 5-star; vendor's reputation is stellar! As a result, my veggies have never been sliced so perfectly thin nor looked and tasted so good! I'm exploring more foods to slice/shred. Next up: shredding cabbage for slaw, and fresh mozzarella for baked ziti! If there's any downside, the food holder isn't a large-enough diameter to accommodate very large sweet onions and big beefsteak tomatoes. Even so, I can't deduct a star as we buy the largest sweet onions we can find., which likely isn't the norm for most people. I highly recommend this product. It's an outstanding, super versatile tool and offered at a very reasonable price. Oh, the blade storage case is a nice feature, too.

“Thumb” Up!
I give this product a thumb up. I decided to use it for the first time to make scallop potatoes. I stabbed the first potato with the guard and started going to town. The moment I was thinking to myself, “man this thing slices great!” is the moment the potato fumbled, and my thumb learned what it feels like to be a potato. $1700 ER bill later, my thumbs finger print is permanently altered. I had to rescan it for Touch ID. Dinner was eventually finished, and we’ve been using it ever since. Pretty sure this thing will cut meat easily too. Ask me how I know.
