HOPE I HAVE THIS ONE FOR 30 YEARS! LOVE IT!
I have been remiss about writing a review for this item; however, now that I have had it for awhile and have used it more, I can excuse my tardiness by hoping my info is more comprehensive with extra use. Let me say my last dough & pastry cutter was with me for 30 years so it was obviously an emotional farewell regardless of the shape it was in. While a good pastry cutter may not change the world, it has changed my little kitchen world. After doing some research, I settle on this one based on reviews and also the look and style of it. After using it, I'm very happy with the quality and size. I have very small hands and this cutter is so much more comfortable than bigger ones I have held. The blades are a very high quality and so is the handle. I have just made 8 pie crusts with this cutter this morning and it works like a charm. Easy to use, blends well without overblending. I want the least amount of cutting and blending with crusts as possible to get the desired effect; otherwise, crusts can get tough. Not been an issue with this product; quick and efficient. Love the product and would definitely order from this company again. Company was very attentive with quick delivery.

Well constructed and really works!
UPDATE: I wanted to update my review because I have made biscuits on several occasions (yes an problem) and this dough blender has performed as advertised. I also used it to chop up some cooked vegetables for my dogs and it did quite well. Obviously, time will tell the story on durability; however, I believe this is one tool that will definitely last for a long time. The blades do not bend while using the tool and that is a positive sign for me with regard to durability. I only used this tool once when making biscuits, which was the reason I wanted it in the first place. :) This blender seems very durable and performed fine, but not having used one, before, I can only make a judgement on the final product, the biscuits, which were really good. The handle is a little narrow for my hand; however, I did not experience any discomfort when using it. Time will tell, but I do believe this is a tool that will last for many years. In fact, I'm wondering how well it would do for chopping up cooked vegetables for my dogs. If it works, I'll buy another. :)

Just a happy customer
Wow, Spring Chef is a great company to do business with, very responsive and I didn't even have a problem :-) I never thought of a dough blender as anything other than a dough blender but, Spring Chef sent a long a nice little PDF that listed additional uses - I have a tiny kitchen so any tool that can be used in multiple ways is a blessing. I am now the proud owner of a handy gadget that blends dough (and I know the proper way to give it a little twist for maximum blend) and, it's sharp enough where it can be a food chopper, too! My hands get stiff on me and knives can become dangerous - I made a chicken salad today and still have all my fingers without a scratch on them! Tomorrow it's egg salad day! Oh, and they offer a lifetime warranty so, if I ever have a problem they'll be happy to help me out. Nope, I'm not a paid spokesperson, I'm just a happy customer.

A favorite
This is becoming one of my favorite kitchen tools. I had never owned a dough blender previously; this is my first. I had been for years using two butter knives to cut butter into flour, and this tool has made the task so much easier. It is very well made and should last for decades. As other reviewers had remarked, the design is more fitting for persons with small, rather than large, hands. My own hand spans only a keyboard octave comfortably, and this tool is a good size for my hand. It is like having five strong blades in one. I find it is great for chopping nuts -- a real time saver. Excellent product. Reasonably priced. I highly recommend this.

very solid construction; works great; outstanding customer service
I purchased this Spring Chef dough blender to replace an old hoop one for one specific purpose: making biscuits from scratch. Trying to blend partially frozen cubes of butter with flour using my old hoop dough blender was an experience in frustration as the metal loops would separate. Not so with this Spring Chef blender. The thing is built like a tank with a very solid feel to it. The blades of the blender are not sharp, but they are designed such that they easily cut into frozen butter and blend well without bending a bit. The handle has a cushioned feel to it, which is also a big improvement over my old tool that had a wooden handle. My only complaint is the handle on this blender is a little small for my adult male hand. It would have been perfect if the handle was about a half inch longer. Even still, it is a marked improvement over my old dough blender, and I highly recommend it. Spring Chef does sell a larger model, which I did not know when I purchased this medium size one, so if you have large hands you may want to look at their larger model which is available on the Spring Chef web site if Amazon doesn't have it. Now a word about customer service. After I purchased my dough blender I got an email from one of the co-founders at Spring Chef asking how I liked it. I wrote back pretty much what I said in my initial review above. I did not ask for anything and simply offered my opinion about the product. He immediately sent me an email back stating he would send me the larger blender, which he did. He wanted to make sure I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. Now you just cannot beat that level of customer service, and that is precisely why I ended up buying a new Spring Chef box grater shortly afterward and will check Spring Chef before I buy any other items for cooking. So here is the comparison of the two dough blenders. Dimensionally, the medium dough blender measures approximately 4-1/2 inches from the back of the handle to the furthest tip of the blade; the large dough blender measures 5-1/4 inches in the same dimension. The length of the handle on the medium blender measures approximately 3-1/8 inches in length across the outside (3 inches in length inside the handle); the larger blender handle measures 4-3/4 inches across the outside (4-3/8 inches inside the handle). So the larger blender not only has a larger handle, which makes for a far more comfortable grip in my situation, but it also is larger in blade size, too. I have posted pictures to compare the two side by side (that’s not rust on the blades, it is reflection of our pot rack from above). In summary, both the medium and large Spring Chef dough blenders are built very solidly and work extremely well. If you have smaller hands, or need to blend dough in a small bowl, the medium sized blender may work well for you. But I suspect most people will find the large dough blender to be more comfortable to use, especially if you have large hands. Regardless of which one you buy, you can rest assured Spring Chef stands behind the quality of their products and wants you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase.

Magnificent Dough Blender
Quality Kitchen Aid. I made the best pie crust of my life yesterday using this dough blender and Mrs Anderson's Baking Non-Stick Pastry Cloth Frame to roll out the dough. I cannot say enough about this dough cutter. It fit my hand beautifully and worked easily to blend the frozen butter and flour. I will never use my food processor again to make pie dough. This blender is all I need.

Sturdy little dough blender
This dough blender was packed well and arrived quickly, so I had no need of contacting the seller. My daughter has started making biscuits a lot lately, so I ordered this product to make that faster. It works great, cutting butter into flour even when the butter is refrigerator cold. I also use the dough blender to cut up egg yolks for deviled eggs. It's so much faster and more thorough than using a fork! The steel is thick, and I don't see the possibility of the blades bending. The handle is a bit small, which may improve the integrity of the blender, but it could be uncomfortable for larger hands. While the blades are not sharpened, the edges are not rounded, and can cut if you are not careful when washing and drying. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

A little bit small, but works very well
Yesterday I made baking powder biscuits. The recipe calls for cutting Crisco and butter into the flour by hand (fingers). It works, but the heat from my fingers begins to melt the fats. Yesterday I tried this. It worked exceptionally well at integrating the fat in to the flour with minimal mess! My only complaint is that it is somewhat small for my hands and if I tried to hold it normally with four fingers inside the handle, the sharp edges of the stamped metal began cutting the sides of my hand. I ended up holding it with only three fingers around the handle and things worked well. To reduce mess as well as keeping your hands from getting completely greasy, I highly recommend!

Well made and Great customer support!
My first review seems to have disappeared, so I will do it again more updated. This dough blender with five blades works much better than my old four blade blender. The blender is small fitting my small hands very well and is well made with good quality stainless steel and rubber handle. I've used mine several times and only had two small issues with it. One was the sharp inside edges formed when the steel was sheared and shaped. I fixed this issue easily with a little sanding. The other issue was the handle spins, though it was still usable and still worked good. I mentioned that it was a small handle, so it might not be a good choice for people with larger hands. But they do have a larger version and they sent me a link so I can share it with you. https://sellercentral.amazon.com/nms/redirect/b2321045-b87c-37bc-8b8a-931217b6f27c?sk=BI31ZwbHufxE_LdjkiZsH247OiKei3H8Y0BQ-gtnvftri1pqaLezorCWyEYoJpwc6AbMk0zymD8d2qCP5RB0Pg&n=1&u=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYW1hem9uLmNvbS9kcC9CMDczTllaVjlU When they asked me how I liked mine and if there was any problems with it, I told them what I felt could be improved on mine. I wasn't asking for anything and was just trying to be helpful. They apologized and are sending me a new one free, saying that the handle wasn't supposed to spin and they were sorry about the sharp edges and that they did have a larger version for people with larger hands. That's when I got the link I just shared. So not only am I happy with this blender, their customer support was so awesome, it has me wanting to check out their other product as well. I consider buying this dough blender money well spent.

Unskilled in the kitchen, but prepared with the right equipment
I am no kitchen whiz so last time I tried to make cookies I ran into my standard kitchen equipment shortfall. I was reduced to (and this is how old I am) my old home-ec class skill-set--cutting the butter into flour between the blades of two knives. Tedious work with a lumpy product outcome, plus, I am a hazard in the kitchen with one knife in my hand, but two?! This dough blender is made to order. Easy to hold handle that doesn't cut into my palm, sharp blades that quickly do an even job on the butter/flour mix, with a rinse and dishwasher clean up; this addition to compensate for my kitchen equipment shortfall is perfect! Thanks for thinking this blender through with a non-electric product that keeps all my fingers in tact.
