The new Senseo lives up to expectations and memories!
We had a Senseo machine while living in Europe for several years and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we got back to the States we couldn't buy one here, which was a real disappointment. Now that they are back, we jumped right in and bought two... one for Mom and one for us. We have already tried it with both decaf and medium roast, purchased in the six packs here on Amazon, and both absolutely lived up to the flavor and quality of what we had in Europe, including the wonderful froth on top (whatever the technical name of that is). They say it has a new heater that makes it a bit hotter, so I was afraid it would burn the coffee, but it doesn't. The temperature is nice and hot without damaging the flavor. The only drawback for me is that the tray the cup sits on is plastic rather than the nice stainless steel on the one we owned previously, but some people might like the matte black look. We're very pleased to have Senseo back, and we hope it really catches on this time in the USA.

More eco-friendly, stronger flavors available vs. the other brand
This is my second Senseo. The last one started acting up after 10 years of daily use. I prefer this over the other more famous brand, because the pods are definitely more eco-friendly (I use them in my garden afterwards). Great flavor on the pods, and if needed, I can use ground coffee with the adapter (sold separately). I find that the Senseo pods have stronger coffees available. The stronger roasts for the other brand don't even compare with the regular or mild Senseo coffees (Senseo, Melitta brands). If you shop around, you can also find tea pods. I admit, I even use it to heat water to make a cup of tea on ocassion.

I love love love this coffee machine
I love love love this coffee machine. I'm French and I like some good coffee. I've been living in the US for too long without good coffee and this Senseo finally took care of the problem! Plus I love that I can put the coffee bags in my compost, no waste here! So easy to use too! I just wish I could find the coffee at the store instead of having to order it.

We had a Senseo several years ago and loved it! Along came the Keurig cup craze and ...
Thank you SENSEO.. you came back! This review is for the new 2018 Senseo with 40.8 oz water reservoir. We had a Senseo several years ago and loved it! Along came the Keurig cup craze and we bought one, and got rid of our Senseo. Over time we really missed the wonderful little cup of coffee with the rich crema on top. We put a sprinkle of sugar/cinnamon on the crema. That's what we missed most with Keurig, which makes a good cup of coffee, but zero rich crema. The sugar-cinnamon just disappeared. We realized Senseo was discontinued in USA, and tried a Nespresso for the last year. The Nespresso just never got hot (instant read temp around 115 deg F. The Senseo instant read is around 148-150 F. And honestly, Nespresso coffee tastes overly strong and bitter. And expensive. Be aware, the SENSEO single pod makes a small cup of coffee, but it is the perfect size for a cold Pacific Northwest afternoon, or anytime to relax. That's the usage model we use for our SENSEO, a relaxing PERFECT small cup of coffee. (Note: We have a percolator electric pot connected to a WEMO power outlet, controlled by an Amazon ECHO.. Alexa, turn on the coffee! For our morning coffee. The SENSEO is fine, if you want a small cup. We are soooo glad they brought the SENSEO back, and it is just like we loved.

Perfect Coffee Maker
Super simple coffee maker that is environmentally friendly and makes a perfect quality cup of coffee. The pods are made out of biodegradable paper instead of plastic like K Cups. The pods are reasonably priced. The reservoir is jumbo sized so not as many trips to the facet are needed.

Love this machine.
I have used a Senseo machine for the past ten years. it takes 60 seconds to make a great cup of coffee with a perfect head of creamy foam --- every time! I was so thankful to see the machines once again available in the US just in time to replace my old one. It has been difficult to find the coffee pods in stores over the years but maybe that will change now that the machines are now available here again. Although availability is not a problem any more thanks to Amazon.

Great Replacement So Far
My 15+ year old Senseo broke on Tuesday. The latch for the top closure broke so it can't stay latched (could not even hold the top down successfully). I am happy to say that this is a good replacement. Physically it is nearly an exact replacement. My old pod holders, smaller water reservoir, plate and tray at bottom all fit. So now I need to figure out when to use the larger water reservoir versus the original size. I have made my first two cups successfully. If the new Senseo Maker will last half as long as the old one, it will be great. I mainly use the Senseo as an assist in making Cappuccino from Cafe d'Vita mix. For French Vanilla, I use a French Vanilla Pod and a Medium Roast Senseo Pod. About half of a large mug has hot regular coffee and a couple of teaspoons of Cafe d'Vita French Vanilla mix (sometimes English Toffee for variety). The other half of the cup is from the Senseo coffee maker. Nearly the same amount of foam as a regular cappuccino and a lot more convenient. Another variety uses Hazelnut Pods and Hazelnut Cafe d'Vita mix (sometimes White Chocolate for variety).

Large reservoir a real plus
Works just like my original Senseo (makes the absolute best coffee). The original was still working but it was beginning to leak after about ten years of very heavy usage. I really like having the large water reservoir on this model. It seems a little expensive but if I can get 10 years out of it it's definitely worth it!

Reliable Machine for Quality Coffee with Tasty Crema on Top
I love the new Senseo machine! It makes such good flavorful coffee for an instant coffee maker. The quality of the coffee surprises me almost every time. I drink the dark roast flavor and it brews a hot cup with a nice frothy layer that they call crema (which I'm a big fan of). I heard Senseo is one of the most popular brands in Europe so I was excited to try it. I'm glad that I bought the machine for myself. Previously I was drinking Nespresso and I notice how much cheaper the Senseo pods are per pod. It's practically two cups for the price of one and even better quality coffee. Plus the machine is way cheaper than the $500+ machines that brew a crema layer. I care about the environment so I feel good drinking Senseo because the pods are non-metal, non-plastic and eco-friendly. All around I would recommend the new Senseo machine and coffee pods.

There's no other way to enjoy coffee
I'm so tickled to find they're making this machine again. I used my first one for 20 years. Unfortunately my back up only lasted 2 years. I just bought this one, and I'll purchase a second as back up. I use a double pod and make a single cup with frothed milk. Best cappuccino ever! I have to use decaf. Senseo pods were great, but when they became unavailable, I started making my own pods with Starbucks decaf espresso. I did buy a keurig to try during our pod crisis. I had one cup, then donated it to charity. Bleck! What can these people be thinking? To the Philips company: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
