Upon buying my first home and moving in, I found that the recessed can lighting in the showers were very dim and hot. In taking down the enclosure to see what kind of bulb was in there, the plastic the torsion springs were attached to broke, so time to get a new light! This lighting kit is extremely well made, having seen and held a couple at home improvement stores, this one was by far the nicest and most sturdy in its construction. While not immediately visible in the product pictures the torsion springs are attached to metal so there's very little chance of the unit breaking on installation or removal. The plastic shell around the light has a very high quality feel, and when installed in my shower ceiling looked substantially better than the fully enclosed lighting can it replaced. Lighting quality is fantastic, very nicely distributed throughout the shower and very bright. In fact if I had to give a negative on this it would be that for an enclosed shower its almost too bright. Regardless though we're very happy with it, especially at a much better price than inferior competing products. The only thing I can't speak to is the longevity of the light as we just installed it.

Easy to install and very nice dimming curve with good CRI as the dim. These are both 2 very big concerns you should have if your buying dimmable LED. Dimming of many LEDs results in light flicker once you get below a certain percentage_ even some pretty high end bulbs can't reliably dim below 20%. And if you're looking to replace with something that looks like a halogen or incandescent, the CRI is extremely important. When dimming an LED that has a poor CRI, the color tends to look grey as it dims. These don't suffer that issue like many I've sampled. In this recent install, we paired them with Control4 Adaptive Phase smart dimmers and they will literally dim down to nearly 0%; which I was completely shocked by; and never flicker (at least with the 4 and 6 fixture configurations we installed; the lower the quantity of LEDs, the more change you have of weird issues such as flicker and seepage of light when it's supposed to be off).

LED lighting is getting better and cheaper and this fixture is no exception. I used this for a small (5' x 8') bath remodel. The bath only had a vanity light and no window so was not well lit. I added one 4" recessed ceiling housing above the shower and used this fixture in it. I'm really pleased with the bright warm light - I could just about get away with using this as the only light in the room - but now I have more choices for the vanity light since it doesn't need to light the whole room anymore. I installed this light in a 4" Halo housing and the fit is excellent.

I had initially purchased a 4000k version of these lights for my bedroom, it was immediately lit up as a bright day. I am switching these out for the 2700k version. I am not a handy man by any means, so those with two left feet or all thumbs will appreciate the ease with which these are installed. Just need a ladder. You screw in the bulb adaptor, squeeze in the springs and push it into the recessed light. I think it took me all of three minutes to do. Lighting with the 2700k is much softer, I moved the 4000k to my kitchen where I appreciate more lighting for cooking.

I have six of these in the ceiling of our outdoor patio roof, installed in Halo H995ICAT air-tight housings and controlled by a Cooper DAL06P-C1-K-L multi-load dimmer. The Cooper dimmer has adjustments for both the lowest light level and kick-restart. These lamps work perfectly. Dimming is completely smooth from bright to dim, and kick-starting is not necessary at all -- they'll turn on and off on the lowest dimming setting without flashes or delays. The color at full brightness is nearly identical to incandescent lamps. Unplug the lamp's medium-base adapter from the standard orange LED connector, and that connector mates perfectly with the connector in the Halo box. The entire lamp fits like it was designed for the box, fitting securely without force. If you're wondering about the lamp's white housing material, it's aluminum, not plastic, and the finish is literally perfect on all six of our lamps. The lamp's lighting surface has no "hot spots"; it's highly diffused and its light spread is bright and even. I can't find even minor complaints with these lamps, and I'm probably going to use them in our new rec room ceiling.

Worked very well for my application- outdoor under soffit lighting. I had no problems installing them in the Commercial electric H9 recessed cans from the big orange store. I did have one out of the 12 units that I installed where the black wire lead pulled out of the orange 2 pole connector- I pushed it back in and tried to pull it back out and it was ok then, so must just have not gotten pushed in fully at the factory. I chose the 'warm white' version and I'm very pleased with the light color and the beam shape on the wall is soft to moderately focused cone shape. Produces a nice warm, intimate lighting effect around the patio and backyard areas. Seems to be a quality product. It does indicate that it can be used in damp locations, which I do not think is indicated in the product description on the item page. I submitted a number of pictures so that they might help someone with the product!- (hopefully Amazon will let them post)

Some of the best lights I've bought. The 2700K lighting has a rich quality, it's a high quality product, no hum with dimmers and has changed our kitchen and living room atmosphere. It's just the first day so I'll be watching closely but the product worked exactly as advertised. The only downside is that they come in 6, 10, 12 packs..I added two more lights to my installation project after the fact, but unfortunately they don't have it in a 2 pack which would have been great.

We bought this for a new 4 inch recessed light in our renovation. The light was installed with a bracket that held the socket lower in the light and this was preventing the light from going into the ceiling completely. Once we removed this bracket, so that it would go farther into the ceiling, the light fit perfect. The light matches other 2700k lights we have in the same area and adequately lights our stairwell.

We installed a total of ten 4 inch can lights during a remodel a couple years ago, and made the mistake of using the 60 watt "eyeball" or gimbal lights - I believe they were halogen. Reasonably bright, but got very hot and tended to burn our fast as a result. I decided to give these a try, they were inexpensive - about the same as the halogen bulb alone that we were replacing all the time! When they arrived, I grabbed my tools and went about trying to see how I was going to have to rewire or modify the can to accept the new LED's - only to find that THERE WAS NOTHING TO MODIFY! I pulled down the cover and unscrewed the bulb - just like I was replacing it - and screwed in the wiring harness to the bulb receptacle. I pushed the new LED bulb and cover into the can, and,,,,,,and then nothing, I was done! All 10 replacements (on two floors) were done in a matter of minutes - again, with NO TOOLS for my application anyway. Brighter light, better color, no heat, dramatically less power consumption. I absolutely recommend these replacement LED's if you are using 4 inch recessed can lights.....

You definitely can't go wrong with these LED lights, especially for the price. I installed all ten of these (2700K variety) in the ceiling under our waterproof deck using Sunco's 4" recessed fixtures (cans) which allow direct plug-in without screw-in "light bulb" adapters. (The adapters come with the lights for using these in other fixtures.) This combination made for ten complete recessed lights for about $17 each, which is a great price! I also wired in a Lutron Diva dimmer, and you can dim these lights to any desired level, right down to barely visible on a dark night with absolutely no detectable noise or glitches. More good news, the lens comes out easily by removing three screws (that also hold the spring steel claws that keep them securely in the fixture). This allowed me to easily paint them with a metalic bronze paint which blends nicely with our stained tongue & groove plank ceiling. Before painting, I ran them at various brightness levels all day and night for a couple of days to be sure they all worked, at least for 50+ hours to hopefully root out any infant mortality issues. So far so good! We found 4" fixtures to be an ideal size for this application, compared to the much larger 6" recessed light fixtures; plenty of light or nicely dimmed mood lighting in a small, unobtrusive package. Highly recommended!
