I've used half of the box, and not had a single screw strip out, bend, or otherwise malfunction. I have not tested these in weather yet. One somewhat strange thing I love about these screws is how comfortable they are to work with. It's one of those things that you don't really consider when you're buying screws, but there's nothing worse than getting metal splinters in your fingers every time you grab/use a screw. These are smooth, and have no jagged/sharp edges. But they grab and sink into wood without any trouble. I've been using a Dewalt impact driver with these, which is a nice drill. But I've had plenty of trouble with other types of screws while using the same drill. The torx bit grips onto the screws extremely well, and sometimes even has trouble letting go after you sink them. Nothing troubling, but the grip may occasionally overpower your bit-magnet, pulling your bit from your drill. Only had this happen a couple times. A bit lock will help with this if you don't mind using pliers to change bits. I definitely recommend these Hillman screws so far. That goes for all sizes they come in.

I have used this series Hillman exterior screws for some time on several projects. They do not require pre drilling and do not strip out either...The coating lasts which is a must for exterior applications.. I am in my late 70’s and these fasteners are superb...I have experienced fastener learning curve..

drove 10,000 last summer no strip outs no break offs, no cracked wood

These are hands down the best decking screws I've used. I was about 65 screws short of finishing the deck so I ran out to the local big hardware store and bought something similar. That was a mistake after using these. They start very easy, pull boards down tight, no cracking/splitting of any wood and didn't strip out or break any screws. I will definitely purchase these again if I ever have to work on another deck.

The picture on the left are deckmate 31/2 in deck srew from HD after a month i notice my deck make noise when i walk on it. Upon close inspection i found out that many screwhead popup a little i thought it need more tigh so i grab my Makita xdt11 with star bit redo it but those bad srews turn free loose broken in half as you see in the photo. This is one handfull cameout from the first row and 10 more row to go. I add this powerpro 48611 screw next to the old srew and not even found one broken yet. I want to educate consumer so they may avoid making mistakes.

Whether building a cabin, decks, porch floors, roofs, etc. This screw is the best and a new bit is included in the box. Good idea because the bits do wear out. Best thing is that these screws can be used over and over and the heads, being a star bit style don't strip out like a Philips head does.

These are some of the best screws I've used. The hold great and have a lot of bite. The torx bit that comes with it is very hard to find locally, but a t25 bit will work as well, it's just a tad smaller. I'd buy these again and recommend these.

These screws did an excellent job on my deck. I am not a very “handy” person, but I had no issue using these screws for my deck. They went in nicely and were easy to remove when needed. The only knock on these was the included drill bit. It was cheaply made. If you get these screws, be sure to purchase the DeWalt TP-25 starred drill bit. My wife and I each had a drill with those bits and it lasted the entire time with zero “screw stripping.” (No pun intended).

I buy these to fasten stuff together inside. Torx drive is great, they don't strip or snap, and that's powering them into hard southern pine framing lumber. They probably work passable as deck screws but I'm the fanatic who only uses Stainless screws outside. Otherwise, Hillman makes quality products and screws, but the Big boys sell other junk instead of these.

Great decking or wood screws, screws in effortlessly with good bits and bites very well without snapping off... worth the money!
