easy to build, quality is good for price
super happy with this coop. We are beginners and will have two chickens. My husband and 15 year old son put the coop together in about an hour. My husband will be applying an water seal and made a base from 2x4 and wire cloth as was recommended in other reviews. I know this coop may not last several years, but for the price if we get 2-3 years it will be worth it.

Great!
Bought this for about $150. I think it's great. No missing parts. Instructions pretty simple. Mainly just pictures. My 11 year old I put it together in an hour or 2. I added a screen to the attic vent window from the inside with a staple gun. Also screwed 1x4's to the under side so the wood rots before the coup does and can be changed out. The wood is soft as mentioned. We have painted it 2 coats and I will put a heavy clear coat on soon. Will also add wheels on one side to roll it around.

Priced Right and Works Perfectly For My 3 Girls!
Best I saw from the options and it works great for our 3 girls. Go to the manufacturer's www page and watch their assembly video. Good idea to follow all the suggestions here as well. There is No screen over the small window. Add this and waterproof all the parts before assembly. You will want to add additional latches to the 2 doors, window and laying area. I also put 2x4 under the entire coop, raising it a couple of inches. This may seem like a lot of extra work but any coop you buy on line will need all the above. However, this one is priced well and works well. This one is perfect for 3 chickens. Our girls are close to laying age and still fit very well. We have added a 3/8 run which we push up to the open door. Works like a champ but again, the coop is fine without it. I could not be more happy with this product...

Great for the price
Easy to put together and looks great. Only thing I'm not thrilled with is how soft the wood is...but nothing a sealer can fix. Worth the money. Fits our 2-silkies 2-frizzles And one leghorn

like a chain with a lock on the nesting box ...
For the price, you really can't beat it! I added some extra security features, like a chain with a lock on the nesting box that easily allows me to clip the box open while collecting the eggs (we don't have that piece of wood that props it up in the photo... not sure if that is just one of the roosting bars?). Anywho... we also added chicken wire all along the bottom of the run. We added a window flower box and weather proof white paint as well.

Great with some adjustments
This is great with a few improvements. My boyfriend and I sprayed the whole thing down with Flex Seal and some clear coat spray paint, because the weather here in CO can sometimes be intense, I think I will be painting it before winter to help make the soft wood last longer. Also, I can't stress this enough, REINFORCE, REINFORCE, REINFORCE!!!!!! We used some heavy duty staples and went along the inside of the coop restapling the hardware cloth down every few inches or so. We also put padlocks on the main door, the little house door, and the egg box on the side as the small latches most likely won't keep predators out. Also, on the inside of the little house, on the inside of the sliding door, I added a hook and eye lock, in case a predator digs under the coop and gets in, it won't be able to pull the sliding door open. I also bought some hardware cloth from Home Depot for $10 and stapled it to the inside of the little window so nothing can get in through there. Lastly, I bolted down the bottom wood of the egg box because predators can easily push the bottom up and get in. After I bolted it down, I bought a cheap, thin welcome mat from the dollar store and cut it in two and put a piece on each side of the divider in the egg box, so nothing can get their paws up through the small slits in the wood, plus it will keep cold air from coming in through there on the winter as well.

Great Bones - Use your imagination!
We were looking for some bare bone coops that we could modify to suit our needs. We wanted egg boxes low enough the kids could reach them, the handled nesting door, the pull out cleaning tray as well as 4 nesting boxes. Our best option we discovered was to buy 2 and put them together. These arrived early and in perfect condition. The instructions were simple and clear. It was pretty fast to put together - but we had 2 so it took us a bit longer. We painted the coop a direct copy of someone elses' review we love theirs so much. Then we spent about $100 in other supplies to modify it - better/lockable latches, outdoor paint, a frame, and more wood/wire to make a center unit to bring them together. We repurposed the hardware wire we didn't use in the sides to cover the sliding doors and also added vent holes on the other side and covered those as well. We forgot to get two simple pulls to make the cleaning tray even more easily accessed but other than that we're done and very pleased. All in all we have a customized, HUGE run, 2 coops, and 4 nesting boxes for less than $500 with everything we were looking for! Don't let the basic look of this coop fool you - use your imagination and get going!

Good solid product
Although I've seen many negative reviews on this product I found the coop to be of excellent quality. The trick is to make sure the coop is treated with a good outdoor paint or stain. I also raised mine off the ground 4" by adding a base to it and added some roofing shingles.

Great Value
I was hesitant to buy this after reading mixed reviews. It is was pretty easy to put together, nothing damaged and I was not missing any pieces. Even had extra screws. It is a nice looking piece and sturdy enough for my needs. I would suggest a clear weather seal for longevity. I'm using this for two hens.

Super pleased
I received the coop in two boxes, one day apart. I was confused as it showed as "delivered" after the first box arrived with no mention of another one coming but, alas, I ended up with the whole thing. The product was complete, in good shape and well packaged. The assembly instructions were very clear and the step-by-step drawings showed incredible attention to detail. The holes all lined up and there was never a point of confusion. I used Gorilla Glue at all steps to help ensure stability and duration. The end product is exactly as I want it to be. The wood is light as mentioned in many reviews, but I actually think that's a plus, as I plan to move it around the yard. I will be treating it (or painting it, maybe) to help protect the wood from the elements and make it last. I also plan to use a flexible rubber sealant on the roof to protect it and to avoid leaks. All in all, I'm very pleased and found it very simple to assemble. I'm excited to move my chicks to it full time in a few weeks. Update after a few weeks: I'd recommend painting it or sealing it before assembly. Then you'll be sure to address the soon-to-be hard to reach spots.
