This is a great little device and I have had nothing but great results using it. That said dont expect full 30x power IMO. However, it does provide excellent lighted clarity, the case that contains it is sufficient for workbench storage, and is completely durable for hobby use.

Used when shopping for engagement ring. Jewelers knew I wasn't messing around and I think it got me a better diamond. Works well and is much better than what most jewelers will provide you to look at stones. At least it was better than what Jared, D Geller, and Shane Co gave me to look through. 60x is a PITA to use but the 30x was all I really needed. Haven't found any other use for it other than shopping and stone verification after cleanings.

I purchased 2 of these (one for friend)...went with less expensive non-prime company and started to worry after almost a month had passed and no jeweler's loupe...then the company wrote me a kind letter about how it's coming all the way from China (like it was on planet mars) but it was thoughtful...a few days later and package was here! Really enjoying the many uses of these fine instruments, just remember to shut the light off before closing it and placing in pocket :)

It magnifies just as it states, I use it for gems and it really lets me see inside all the way. It came a bit dirty like a small 1mm black smudge so I assume it was used and not "new" but I'm fine with it since nothing was broken and it works better than expected.

I've never used one of these before, but thought I'd see how well it would magnify the small print on coins. It seems to do that quite well. Now I'd like to discover what is actually seen when the jeweler looks at my engagement ring. :0) I cannot speak about the battery life or the durability as I've only received this product recently.

Bought this to aid with small things such as examining coins, working on watches, etc. The LEDs are super bright! This is fantastic because they really light up what your looking at. And also they seem to be exactly aimed at the center of the lens you're using!!! This is great because the light is focused in one spot rather than spread out. Perfect for looking at a specific detail. I've read some reviews saying that the 60x is useless. I totally disagree. First off, you use this almost like a monocle where you hold the item close to your eye. On any magnifying lens there is a "sweet spot" where you can see the best magnification. This requires you to be a specific distance from the object you want to examine. This is the focal point. On the 30x, it's great for 99% of things. The focal point is large enough that you don't have to hold the item too close. If you want to get more power, the 60x works fine but does require you to have a steady hand and have the object close to you. Yes, the focal point is narrow but worth the effort - you'll see! If you wear glasses, this might pose a problem. Also, if you are far sighted, this can also pose a problem. If you have normal vision, or even corrected vision with use of contact lenses, then you shouldn't have a problem. FYI - You will encounter issue this with any small hand held magnifying device. So personally I wouldn't hold it against this unit. This 60x worked great for me. Used properly, you see fantastic details and you won't regret this purchase! Also, the unit is small. Some reviewers are not pleased with this. But then again, you don't want to be holding a large device while you're trying to examine something small - do you? This is NOT your grandma's giant magnifying glass! The magnifier also appears to be very well built, with metal a a few plastic parts, but definitely solid. I can't believe how inexpensive this is. Do yourself a favor, and get this one. Totally worth every penny. So glad I bought it.

This is my first Loupe, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I also use it to look at my fountain pen nibs. The Good: Magnifies quite a bit. Gives me a clear image of the tip of a nib. I can see if the nib has any problems that I can correct. The light is very helpful. The Bad. Not much really. Perhaps not the most beautiful design I've seen, but I was looking for price and function. If I have to complain about something it would be that the LED is too bright for the shiny metal I look at. Not really a defect, just an observation. A dimmable light would make it much nicer. Its a simple magnifier. It lets me do what I need to. Very functional, it's inexpensive, solid and well made. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Bought this because I thought my diamond had been switched out during a reset. Thank god I bought this because I could read the laser serial number on the girdle of my diamond with this. Thank you!!

This is exactly what I was looking for, and works as described. Well worth the money and was invaluable to me when trying to read the inside of rings that were left to me in an estate. Well worth the money!

This is a nice piece of equipment you will use a long time. It is well built and engineered. An earlier review said it was not complete or fully assembled, this makes no sense. There is a battery and a spare, a tiny wrench to remove the battery compartment. I have not needed to change the battery, so am unable to speak to the ease or difficulty of reassembly. It doesn't seem like rocket science. This is more than I expected for this price of around $10. The larger 30x lens is plenty for most applications I've come across. There are two lights, one for each lens. The lights are bright, with no shadowing. The 60x lens is amazing, like having a small microscope in your hand! It does take some finesse, but worth it totally. I like the fact in comes in a case. I don't use it 24/7, this will keep it all together, clean and in good repair until needed in the future.
