I bought this little genius of an egg cooker because I love hard boiled eggs and was tired of having to watch the water boil out on my forgotten eggs on the stove. I did not know whether this little egg cooker would work or not but I figured why not try it? Well, was I surprised at how great it works? If I could I would give it a ten. When I first unpacked it I thought to myself how small it seems to be. It’s small because it does not have to be any larger to cook perfect hard, soft, poached and cooked eggs. It is about the size of a large cantaloupe. It takes almost no room on a counter or in a kitchen cabinet. If you follow the instructions below you too will have perfect eggs every time. For soft, medium or hard boiled eggs: I like to make the maximum (6) eggs at a time and keep them in the refrigerator until needed. It really doesn’t matter if you cook a lesser amount the directions are the same. First, take the plastic supplied measuring cup and fill it to the correct line on the cup for soft, medium or hard boiled eggs and pour the water onto the heating plate. Take the supplied egg holder with the lifting stem attached and place it on the heating plate. The next step is the most crucial step of all if you expect to get perfect eggs every time. Take an egg out of the carton and find the LARGER END (usually eggs are placed in the carton with the larger end up) but I have found that is not always the case. Once you have figured out which is the larger end, take the supplied plastic measuring cup and turn it over. Pull off the cover that conceals the pin you will need to puncture each egg at the (TOP) larger end before placing them in the holder. It is very easy to poke a hole near the center of the top of the egg. The hole does not have to be perfectly centered. You then place each PUNCTURED egg TOP OR PUNCTURED SIDE UP. If you place the punctured side down the eggs will not cook correctly and might leak and make a mess on the heating plate for you to clean up. Close the lid and press the timer button. When I purchased my cooker no one told me it has a built in timer that shuts it off automatically after all the water boils out, but it does. That means you do not have to stand there and watch it. What a bonus that was for me! While the eggs are cooking do not do what I did and put your hand over the steam release hole in the cover. If you do you will get the burn of your life. I mean it! After the eggs turn off I like to leave them in the cooker for another few minutes while they cool off to make sure they are really HARD boiled. You can take them out sooner if you prefer your eggs just hard boiled. After you finish cooking your eggs no matter how they are cooked you will notice brown residue on the cooking plate. After the unit cools off I like to use a light scrubbing sponge with white vinegar and it comes right off. For poached or scrambled eggs the only hint I will give you is to coat the plastic pan with olive or cooking oil. If you do the eggs will fall right out of the plate after cooking. Remember to fill the plastic cup to the medium line only. Enjoy your eggs. A final follow up. I have been using my fantastic egg maker for a couple of months now and have noticed that the painted on hard, medium and soft boiled markings on the side of the cute little supplied cup are starting to rub off. If you do not want to guess where the markings were do what I did and take some really good quality clear tape and cover the markings to protect them from permanently disappearing.

I love breakfast, however, many times I am running late and have to be out the door by 6am for work. I have to have protein for breakfast, I love eggs. Lately I have been stuck buying the hard boiled eggs at the kiosk at work at $2.09 for 2 eggs. It adds up. A friend told me that this egg machine worked great for her so I bought one. Cooked the 7 eggs last night, tried one right away and it was perfect. I put the rest of the eggs in snack size zip bags, 2 to a bag. I took 2 ( 1 bag) to work this morning and OMG, I am in heaven. This will be saving me $$ and will pay for itself in a week & a half- WOOT!

I got so sick and tired of cleaning egg off of pans that were supposedly "non stick" that I decided to order this and I am so glad I did. This is now one of my most favorite things in the kitchen. You set it up, walk away, it shuts off on it's own and you go over to it and it's like magic. It makes the best eggs. Not only that, today I made hard boiled eggs and the shell when being removed was in very large pieces and just slipped right off. When making two poached eggs, I placed two eggs in the egg poach dish and they turned out perfectly. There is a little plastic cup that comes with this and right on the cup it tells you how much water to put in for whatever type of egg you want to make. I even took "Powdered" eggs, and mixed it with water and stuck in the omelette dish and it turned out perfect. I am so impressed, I bought my mother one for Christmas. You can't go wrong. The cooking pieces are plastic and egg just cleans right off of it and you can even eat the eggs right out of the poached egg pan or the omelette dish. Also, the bottom of the cup allows you to poke a hole in the egg to make hard boiled eggs to prevent cracking but I didn't even use it and only one of the hard boiled eggs had a crack but this allowed me to just remove the shell with ease. And, think of the health issues here, you don't have to use any butter or oil or anything - cooks a healthy egg. Today, I started the day with poached eggs. Then for lunch, I made some hardboiled eggs and took one of the eggs and made an egg salad sandwich. Now instead of buying a dozen eggs, I'm purchasing a package of 18 eggs because this IS A HIT!

I have been using this appliance every day. It works so fast. I used to hard boil eggs which took over 15 minutes including the time to get the water to boil and then to cook eggs. Then it was a 50/50 chance whether or not the shells would come off without taking half the egg with them. With this appliance, I can hard boil up to 7 eggs and am amazed at how easily the shells peel off every time. I have 2 poached eggs for breakfast almost every day and have learned to adjust the amount of water to get the firmness of the eggs just right. I haven't made the omelet yet, but will do so. I think for omelets you have to cut up veggies very small. Cleaning this is simple as well. I just hand wash the cup. I use white vinegar on a paper towel for the heat plate once it's completely cooled. And the rest I just wipe with a paper towel. This is my new favorite kitchen appliance. It stays on my counter top. I had to put my air popcorn popper away. Too many carbs! I feel better too, eating more protein.

This little thing is great! Easy, fast and perfect eggs. I bought mine from Amazon warehouse deals and it didn’t come with directions. I read some of the reviews so this is what I did. Put the correct amount of water in for how you are cooking the eggs with the provided cup. On the bottom of the cup theree is a pin, puncture the large end of the egg and place the egg in the holder with the large end up. Put on the lid and start. Wait for the obnoxiously loud buzzer to scare the s**t out of you. Unplug the unit to get the air raid siren to stop. I waited a couple of minutes to be sure I got a hard boil then rinsed in cold water. They peeled perfectly and the yolk was wasn’t dry. I noticed in many reviews there were complaints of the poaching dish or omelet dish melting. You have to still use the egg holder to raise the dishes up. Direct contact with the metal surface will melt them. Love this little appliance, maybe in future versions they improve the alarm.

I once forgot my eggs boiling on the stove; called the police because the exploding eggs I thought was someone in the house who had broken in. It wasn't until the smoke alarm went off and stated "Get out of the house - Fire, Fire" that I realized I had totally forgotten my eggs and the water had all evaporated and the cooked eggs were smoking and hanging off the ceiling. So, I absolutely LOVE this little machine which works perfectly. My eggs are cooked beautifully and peel so easily that I would not go without it ever again. Bought one for my daughter who makes a lot of deviled eggs. I LOVE IT! A+

It's a very cute little cooker but it actually functions better than expected, and definitely better than any other method previously used for hard boiled eggs! The eggs are just perfect. Tender. Bright yellow! No green or gray. New eggs are now easy to peel! Haven't tried cooking anything in the tiny plastic trays but did steam some fresh broccoli. Turned out great. Poured water onto the metal base while hot and it was spotless again. It's smaller than a head of iceberg lettuce, so it's easy to store. Very heavy duty cord. Highly recommend this product.

This is the bomb! I've been craving eggs like crazy lately, this is the answer to my egg issues. And to think, I almost didn't buy it because some people were posting pictures of melted plastic on the heating element. I had an inkling of an idea that they were using the egg cooker incorrectly, and after receiving mine and reading the instructions, I verified it. I posted pictures of the instructions for an omelet, and poached eggs. If you read number seven and eight, you can clearly see where it states to put the poached egg tray, and/or the omelette tray, on top of the egg tray. Nowhere does it say to put the plastic directly on the metal heating element. Duh. What do you think will happen if you put plastic on a hot, metal plate? You wouldn't put anything plastic on your heating element on your stove, would you? Anyway, I digress. This cooked my eggs perfectly the very first time, right out of the box. The Amazon box was really damaged, through no fault of Amazon, so I was concerned that I would get a broken product. The packaging was first class, so the cooker was totally protected! I would post a picture of my perfectly cooked eggs, but I already ate them. So at this point, all I can suggest is that you order this, and in two days when it shows up, cook your own eggs! Nobody in my family knows this yet, but this is what everyone is getting for Christmas this year. Too bad grandma has that egg allergy....

Makes perfect eggs!! Other reviews about under cooked eggs; just remember, the larger the eggs, the more time it will take. Love this cooker!! Attached picture shows my soft cooked eggs for my breakfast this morning. :)

I have wanted an egg cooker for a while now, but wasn't sure how it would work. I like eggs but didn't like the hassle of boiling the water and having to keep an eye on them so they didn't split open or they weren't cooked enough. So I ordered this cool little machine and got it yesterday. Last night, I did 3 hard boiled eggs in it and they came out perfectly. I went ahead and cut them into halves and put them in a container for a simple, protein-filled breakfast (which is different from most of the junk food I eat for breakfast). Loved how easy it was to pierce the holes and how I could put the correct amount of water into it and then go watch tv until I was ready to get up and go check on them. Love how the machine turns off when the appropriate amount of water has boiled out. Love, love, LOVE how easy it was to rinse and peel the eggs! This little gadget will definitely be put to good use in my house. I think I'll make deviled eggs for my mom's birthday this weekend!
