Dishwasher Safe

Great kitchen tool. I’ve used it several times and the weight is just right. No discoloration when washed in dishwasher. This meat tenderizer is similar to the OXO tenderizer, but cheaper. I would recommend this product to buyers.

Fantastic Customer Service

Let me clarify -- the tenderizier I orginally received fell apart after limited use as a number of reviewers have noted. This review is really about Checkered Chef's customer service. After the product fell part, I contacted them by telephone. I spoke with a gentleman who appoloigized and explained that they received a bad batch of tenderizers. He said he would send me a new one. A few hours later I had an email confirming that a new tenderizer was being sent along with a gift for my trouble. Forty-eight hours later I had a replacement. So far, we have not used the replacement; however, it would be a better world if other companies provided a comparable level of customer service.

Meat Tenderizer

My previous meat tenderizer got discolored when washing and we did not feel we wanted tom eat the residue. That decision resulted in this purchase. 1) It has a flat side and a textured side; 2) it has a handle; 3) Tenderizer has decent heft and a good weight balance; 4) I like the coating, which helps to clean and able to wash in dishwasher! I did not think that I could write so much about a meat tenderizer. Nice product at a decent price.

Not your grandmother's meat mallet

I love this meat mallet. For years I used the kind of big wooden mallet my mom and grandmother used. It did the job but was awkward and hard to clean. This meat tenderizer does the job better without shredding meat. It's an easy cleanup because meat doesn't stick to it and it can go in the dishwasher. I recommend it highly.

A tenderizer that isn't aluminum!

I really struggled to find this product, as none of the others on the market seem to be dishwasher-safe. Why anyone would design a meat mallet that isn't dishwasher-safe is a mystery to me, as of all my cooking utensils this is the one most consistently in contact with raw meat. I've used it a couple times so far, and no complaints.

Finally! - a dishwasher-safe meat tenderizer!

I'm very happy with this well made, dishwasher safe mallet. I had another aluminum mallet but couldn't put it through the dishwasher - -a concern after using it to pound raw chicken and pork. This mallet is completely dishwasher safe, and has a nice weight and comfortable grip. It was well packaged and shipped very quickly.
