Works if you follow simple instructions!
These SIM cards worked perfectly for our trip to Northern Ireland! The key to these working properly is to follow these steps: 1. Unlock your phone if it hasn't been done yet. Both mine and my husband's was locked to At&t. I contacted them and within 48 hours both phones were unlocked. That's right, it took 48 hours. You have to give the carrier time, so do it ahead of time before your trip. 2. Once unlocked, swap your old SIM with the new one by Three (I did this while still in the USA- 2 days before vacation). Follow their instructions by visiting the website (link is provided on the card your SIM was attached to). You will be asked to go to their website to sync your phone with the SIM card. The timing of this varies. My phone synced within 1 minute and was confirmed via text. My husband's took closer to 3 hours. I was told by a chat rep that it can take as long as 4 hours, so be prepared to wait. Do this during a time when you don't need your phone (the SIM card must remain in the phone until finished - Do not remove it or turn your phone off until you receive the text to confirm it's done). 3. (Optional) Download the Three app if you wish. You can monitor your usage, add extra gigs, etc. Personally I did not bother since we were only in Northern Ireland for a week, but it's nice to know the option was there. 4. (Optional) You CAN make long distance calls. To do so, write this number down and keep it somewhere safe: -Dial 07755 545454 and wait for the automated voice. - Dial 00 -Dial country code (for USA the number is 1) - Dial the number you wish to call. I followed the above instructions and was able to call the USA no problem. It was free and connection was clear as could be! Overall this SIM works as advertised! The key is to follow instructions, and it'll work for you too. The 12 gigs was far more than enough for our 1 week vacation. I was able to stream 5 hours of Netflix, go on Facebook, l watch YouTube, etc with only 3 gigs of usage by the end of the week.

How to Check Remaining Balance or Usage After Activating Your SIM Card
PrePaid Europe (UK THREE) sim card 12GB data+3000 minutes+3000 texts for 30 days with FREE ROAMING / USE in 71 destinations including all European countries I've just returned from my trip to London & Paris (July-2018), and here is "MY" way of checking remaining allowances (data, voice, & text) from my UK Three SIM account. If you don't want the hassle of registering any of your info like me, [Option 1]: Like others had mentioned / answered, simply dial 333 and choose option 3. You can do that AFTER you activated your SIM and you don't need to be in UK, because you can activate your SIM Card a few days before your actual trip here in the US (I did). As for the "444" # (as of July-2018), use that if you want to "top-up" (purchase top-up vouchers from many of "convenience stores" in UK or online before your trip). The top-up balance is basically enable you dial DIRECTLY back to US without using Apps like WhatsApp, Skype, etc.. I found that I often need to call back to US, but some #s are not / will not be in your contacts, and cause quite a hassle. So I will definitely suggest topping up with few dollars if you can. The top-up minimum I found was $5, but if can find places where you can top-up ANY amount that's even better, because you probably won't use the whole $5 balance from your trip (unless you staying aboard for a month+) {3p/minute, 2p/text/, & 1p/MB}. [Option 2]: Before my trip, I had downloaded the "UK Three App" (I am using Android BTW). It's an "OFF-US-Google-Play-Store" app. Because the "UK Three App" is ONLY available in the "UK Google Play Store". You can't download it EVEN if you are actually in UK, because your google account is tied to the US-Play-Store. So just google "UK three app apk", download it, transfer & install it on your android phone. Once you are on their network (activated sim in your phone of course), you can open the app and it should able to detect your SIM and showed your account / phone # AND the remaining balance of all of your data, voice minutes, and text. That's all to it !!

Hassle-free solution to data usage for my 7-week trip in Italy and France
I was going to be in Italy and France for 7 weeks. In the past, I'd purchase SIM cards whenever I land in a certain country. However, since I will be in Italy for a little more than one month, and I won't be flying into a major city in France, I started researching for sensible alternatives and was glad to have found this product. After a few Q&A with the seller, in addition to the positive feedback on Amazon, I did the following: 1. I purchased one card on Amazon. Picked a date from which would still give me two months coverage in Europe and activated according to instruction, while still in the US. 2. For my second month's usage, I then purchased a "top-up" voucher from an online retailer. In my case, I worked with UK SIMs (the seller of the card as well). I could have purchased from UK 3's website. However, they'd require a credit card with a UK address. With the online retailer, I can pay with PayPal, for just a little more (couple more euros). 2.1 To determine the top-up value to purchase, I went to UK 3's website and selected the one with basically the same benefit that the SIM card that I purchased provides, i.e., £20 All-in-One Add-on. I then purchased a £20 voucher. 2.2 Note: I brought this voucher with me and held off doing anything with it until later. 3. En-route to Rome, we stopped at London Heathrow Airport, at which point I already put the purchased SIM card in my Verizon iPhone. The card worked. 4. At about one month into usage, before driving over to France, I activated the £20 voucher by going to UK 3's website. Note, at this point, there's just £20 of balance sitting in my account. To benefit from the data/minutes package, I'd have to transfer the balance to an Add-On. 5. Converting balance in account to £20 All-in-One Add-on. Note the add-on only lasts 30 days. So you want to time your conversion accordingly. 6. Upon driving over from Italy to France, the network shown on my phone changed from Wind to Orange. Pros: - I saved a lot of time visiting the cellular stores in airports, waiting in line, purchasing and registering SIM cards. It especially saved me the hassle of trying to find a reliable store in France since we won't be flying into a France. - Since the provider is in UK, all communication (i.e., text messages) is in English. This makes it much easier for me to know which messages to take note and which to ignore. - I did not watch the amount of data I was using. We used data for any online research, foot traffic directions, restaurant searches, etc. Since we brought a GPS and used it when driving, the driving direction function on the iPhone was supplemental (for when satellite signal was weak or iPhone finds better routing alternatives), therefore, mush less substantial. At the end of each month, I checked balance and there's still significant amount left. So the data purchased was more than sufficient for our usage. At the rate we paid for it, it seems a good deal. Con: - As data speed in Italy and France is still 3G, that's what I got in both countries. I used to use TIM's SIM card for my travels in Italy. This time, it's Wind. The data seemed really slow at times. But I'm not sure if has to do with the provider or simply because I was visiting more rural area (Le Marche vs. Tuscany). Based on my online research, Orange is the largest cellular provider in France. So no matter what happens, I can't complain. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. I will consider using this product again for my future travels.

Worked great in Italy
I put in the sim card two days before leaving the states and it connected to the ATT network within a few minutes. I had immediate access to data and could make a call to my home phone (a test ) using the free 07755 545454 number with the appropriate exit and country codes (remember the card is British so you are effectively calling from England). Once in Germany and Italy my iphone worked perfectly for both data and making phone calls by just dialing the recipient's phone number again with the appropriate prefix codes (+39 for Italy). I did not use it for streaming but had 3G coverage most of the time and used navigation and web site access quite a bit. The only place we had spotty coverage was in Puglia in Gillipili. Even there, we did find coverage to do navigation. I have that much trouble with ATT at home in the Adirondacks of New York! The only place it did not seem to work was in Canada, when we flew in and out of Montreal. The phone said I had signal but it did not function. At under $30 this is a deal. The folks I traveled with had Verizon and would pay $10/day if they used their phone to do anything off WIFI so they left their cellar data off and we used my phone.

Worked Perfectly on my Verizon iPhone
Bought these for two Verizon iPhone 7s. They worked like a Charm and were way less expensive than adding a few days of International to my Verizon. When we arrived in Heathrow, we made our way to ground transport and installed the sims. All we did was turn the phone off, use a paperclip to pop out the Verizon SIM, and then pop in the Three SIM. We powered the phone back on, and within a minute we had received a text stating the SIM was initializing, and shortly after a text asking us to restart the phone. Upon restarting, a text arrived stating everything was working. It was! The SIM does come with Tethering, but I could not figure out how to tether over WIFI even though my iPad could see the phone. I could select the phone on my iPad, but would get a connection failed error instead of the password request. I was, however, able to get the tethering working over Bluetooth for the odd occasion when I needed my iPad and did not have wifi. I have no experience with tethering, so was unsure what was going on. Over the space of 17 days of normal use (for me) I think I got through about 5GB of data. I hardly used any phone minutes or texts because most of the time I was using Apple Messages. Interestingly, when I got back to Minneapolis and pulled the phone out once we had cleared customs I noticed that the phone was picking up T-Mobile and that a message had come in stating I could use the sim "internationally" and what Three Mobile's rates were. I did not bother testing it because I just popped out the Three Mobile SIM, Popped in my Verizon SIM, restarted the phone and I was instantly back to Verizon. I did see these SIMS in a SIM dispenser in the Heathrow Central Bus Station and noticed the prices were not unreasonable over there, but I calculated that I did save buying them before leaving. The SIM dispenser had a lot of choices from different mobile companies, but the Three Mobile SIM definitely seemed like the best value if Data is important to you. Overall, this was a great experience and I would recommend this SIM to anyone with an unlocked phone. Verizon is always unlocked, but I do not know about other US mobile companies. Apparently, you can check by taking the sim out and looking whether your carrier is still listed in the Cellular preference, but you are better off reading about that on Google!

Great solution for European trips, tested in Scandinavia
Worked exactly as expected on a recent trip through Denmark, Sweden, and Norway! Brief period of no service (couple minutes tops) when crossing borders. Usually great speeds, sometimes dropped to Edge data on TeleNor in Norway, even in Oslo, but found 3G again soon. Made a few phone calls to museums and those worked as well. Swapped the SIM while in the airport waiting for departure, and it easily activated. Made a My3 account so I could keep tabs on usage, even though I didn’t come anywhere near using it up. If your plane has Aeromobile, as our SAS flight did, you have to pay extra. As soon as you’re on the ground in a listed country, you get a text in each country outlining costs. These have been confusing people, which is reasonable. You have the access listed on this SIM. Make a My3 account so you can log in and monitor your use if you want to be sure. This is prepaid, they can’t bill you for anything. If it’s working, it’s fine. They do send lots of marketing/top up texts which are annoying and have confused people, but this is a great deal at <30usd for covering multiple countries. If you are only going to ONE European country, get a SIM there for only 10-15usd instead. I’ve done this smoothly in UK, Ireland, Iceland, Germany. And, make sure your phone is global GSM unlocked. My phone: Unlocked iPhone SE, Verizon prepaid in USA.

Works great from day one though only 3G in Switzerland and France (4G in UK). Tethering works
Activated the SIM card while in the US before my trip. Worked seamlessly throughout my two-week trip in Europe. Speed was 4G in the UK but only 3G in Switzerland and France. Used the data for Google map and WhatsApp with no issues - only used about 5GB of data after two weeks (2 users total, 1 on tethering through either WiFi or Bluetooth). Considering the cost, I still think this is a great SIM card despite the reduced speed. Coverage was very good during my entire trip, so I will recommend this SIM card for casual users.

Awesome way to use your phone unrestricted in Europe
This was awesome for traveling around Europe coming from the US. I was nervous to purchase this due to the reviews, but I'm so glad I just went ahead and purchased it. My girlfriend and I both used one these sim cards for 2 weeks while traveling in Europe and saved us both $$$ while traveling abroad and being able to navigate using Google maps while driving through Spain helped us tremendously. Here are some key things to help you decide if this option is right for you. 1. Is your iPhone/ phone unlocked? My gf and I both had unlocked iPhones. I have Verizon so I had no troubles just switching SIM cards. However, my gf has AT&T and she had to reach out to AT&T to unlock her iPhone (if you have a payment installment plan on your iPhone for at&T you have paid off our phone in order for it to be unlocked) 2. You have to be in the UK first. You have to be going to England first to activate the SIM (aka putting it in your phone and turning it on)... This is because it's UK SIM card and when you are going to other countries you are technically roaming. You can call others countries too in the EU.. We thought we could only call UK numbers but we were able to call numbers in Spain as well.. It just "costs" more to do so.. 3 pence/ min out of your 20 pound credit. We made several calls and never came close to using up or data or line of credit. 3. Activating.. Verizon phone activated much easier than AT&T iPhone. For her phone she had to be on Wifi and activate, where I just put my SIM card in the airport and was up and running within 10 mins. 4. New SIM means new phone numbers.. So we had UK phone numbers, but through iMessage we were still able to text everyone at home who has an iPhone. Overall, essential if you want to go overseas and use your phone as you do here. Highly recommend

Worked great while in Europe!
I bought this for a trip to Europe and it worked perfectly. I flew direct from the US to Switzerland, took the card out of the package, popped it in my phone after I landed, then the phone restarted itself and after about 5 minutes I was good to go. Just make sure "data roaming" is turned on. I saw some people ask if you need to go to the UK first - nope! I used it in Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Liechtenstein with zero issues. The only thing I ran into was that I would occasionally have to restart the phone after crossing a border, but it was no big deal and worked fine after that. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S9 that I bought unlocked from Samsung. Make sure you bring one of the little pins that pop out your SIM card tray because this doesn't come with one. I used a paperclip and it did the job. Data worked great (no different from in the US) and I used "whatsapp" for text messaging and phone calls. I would absolutely use this again!

Great service. I installed the card on an unlocked ...
Great service. I installed the card on an unlocked iPhone in the US the day before my trip to Europe. Immediately the phone connected to the 4g at&t network and it was ready. When I arrived in Europe, the phone connected right away to 4g at the Frankfurt airport. Traveled for 2 weeks to 7 countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Nederlands and Belgium) and I was able to connect to decent 4g speed networks on every single country. Upon arrival at each country you get a text message from Three confirming service is available in that country. I did not use the minutes or the texting since I communicated with my family back in the US via internet using Skype, WhatsApp, and even FaceTime. The 9 gigs of data were more than enough for the entire trip. I did not have to activate the card in the UK first, it worked fine in the US first, then in Europe then back in the US. I highly recommend this card, it’s the best bang for your buck.
