Very beautiful and functional bowl. As an avid crocheter, I can tell you that this is making my hobby (and obsession!) much easier and more enjoyable. I will tell everyone that this works best if you either roll the hank, or package, of yarn into a circular ball, or use the packaged yarn from the inside out, instead of unwinding from the outside, like most of us do. It works very smoothly either way. And don't worry about the size being too small - if you stand the yarn on end, using from the inside out, it works just fine. I really like this bowl!

This was purchased as a gift for a friend. I had one hesitation when purchasing it. I was deliberating this one constructed of wood versus a ceramic bowl...the weight was my hesitation. I mentally imagined a scene where my friend would tug on her yarn only to have the entire bowl go skidding across the table inevitably hitting a wine glass which would explode across her pattern, project and ball of gorgeous yarn. Tears would ensue. None of this will actually happen because this was beautifully designed to have a thicker base on the bowl and it has quite a bit of heft. It does not have full cudgel heft, you will need to use your needles as a weapon should the need arise in a high stress project. It is still project bag travel friendly. The swirled slot is well sanded, so your fingering weight baby alpaca will not catch, snag and ruin an expensive yarn indulgence. I would highly recommend to fellow craft enthusiasts.

This is a beautiful yarn bowl, and a perfect size for my needs. I wanted one that nicely fits a ball of yarn and I can throw in my project bag for going to my knitting group once a week. I considered finding a bit larger one, but this one is perfect, unbreakable and light. There was one small bit of a rough spot in the very point of the carved out coil, but customer service was very responsive! Truly, don't let that stop you from getting this yarn bowl; it is fixed. I read reviews where they are having a hard time with using it. Make sure you wind your yarn skein into a ball, pull your starting end of the yarn from the center of the yarn ball, and then bring it through the center of the bowl's coil. Your ball will stay put and then the yarn will not get beat up from carrying it, etc. I believe in supporting small businesses, and you can tell, this little company truly cares. Beth is awesome. I'm happy!

This bowl is lovely, perfectly shaped and balanced, without out any rough edges. It works well for smaller balls of yarn but larger balls will pop out. I find heavier yarn is given too much tension but light yarn such as sport weight tension is fine when the thread is run through the opening. I have not had any problem with a rough area causing my yarn to tangle, tear or split. The bowl is heavy enough to stay where placed mostly while still light enough to lift easily for portable knitting or crocheting. I like it a lot.

I just received my yarn bowl and I am so happy I ordered it! I knit and crochet a lot and this bowl keeps the yarn from getting tangled while I am working with it. The bowl is so beautifully made and it's big enough to hold a big ball of yarn. The wood finish is nice and smooth, the color is a little darker than on the photo, but, I like it even more. The bowl came packaged very well, and you can see that the vendor took pride in its product. I am so pleased with my purchase. Thank you.

I was hesitant to purchase this because of the price; but I am glad I did! This bowl is their smaller one; comfortably holds a skein of yarn of lace weight up to 3 or 4 weight (depending on the type of yarn) without coming over the top of the bowl. The swirl notch where you feed the working yarn through is wonderfully smooth. I just used the bowl to do a lace weight project and had no snags, pilling, or (what I was most worried about with this product) yarn breakage. I really am pleasantly surprised. The ball of yarn and project (if lace or 1 weight) easily all tuck into the bowl and the free knitting needle slides through from the outside to keep everything in the bowl, even if it gets knocked over. The needle with yarn on it can be slid in just enough to catch, without your stitches falling off the other end; I use the free needle to first go through a bit of the project then into the bowl. This ability is awesome as many mornings I have found that my cats took my working yarn all over the house. Cat hair in my project is never part of the plan! I will be saving up to purchase the larger bowl for when I want to work with chunky yarn. It is wonderfully light weight and fits inside my small project travel bag. Some reviewers mentioned a smell to the bowl - I had none.

I loved the wooden bowl. It's beautiful and sturdy. I use it for all my knitting projects. I plan on buying one for my sister who is an avid knitter.

I was excited about receiving this yarn bowl. But I don't think it was truly made to do what it's suppose to do. It's beautifully crafted but when I use it my yarn roll keeps getting tangled. So I can't really use it. But it beautiful though which I gave it 3 starts. UPDATE: customer service was beyond superb! I am a beginner crochet person so I learned from merchant that I was doing the skein all wrong which is why the yarn bowl was not working. I have yet to master it so I bought a Swift and yarn winder and NOW I have to learn how to use those items and master it to the point where the yarn bowl can come into play for me. I am rating this 5 stars now because Merchant was generous to share information on what I could be doing wrong based on my photo and went into detail how to make the skein work. I completely appreciate that! Thank you soooo much and I hope to become a pro at crocheting and understanding the skein at some point!

This yarn bowl is just as described. What a handy tool! It is made from rosewood, has a beautiful finish. It works extremely well to corral a ball of yarn that otherwise would be trying to wander off.

I do not knit, but my daughter knits everything......sweaters, blankets, scarves, mittens, etc. I gave it to her for her birthday, and she was overjoyed!! She had always wanted one, and could not understand how I had picked this as a gift! It was beautiful and I would definitely recommend this for any one who knits or as a gift to anyone who knits!
