This is the one that you want.
These magnetic mounts are the ones you want. REALLY! I had a Wizgear Mount 3 years ago and it was going strong for 2 years before it somehow came unscrewed, and I couldn't find one piece of it. I immediately ordered another mount that looked almost identical from Amazon. It did not have a strong enough magnet and my phone would fall off right when I needed it the most for directions. This is a STRONG MAGNET. MY phone has never fallen off (iphone 6) as long as I make sure the metal plate in my phone case (otterbox) is close to the mount. I use my GPS every day to navigate through traffic and this thing is a lifesaver. It is little, discrete, and effective. It sticks very firmly to my air vent so I am able to pull my phone off of it easily without removing the mount accidentally (something that was a problem with the other brand I tired). This thing is great. I bought the double pack so that we can have one in each of our cars. This is the air conditioning phone mount that you want....of at least it is DEFINITELY the one I want.

Great for the price
I gave this 5 stars not because it's perfect, because it isn't, but because it's just so easy to use, so versatile (it comes with sticky tape, but I don't want it to be a "permanent" installation), and so cheap. I wanted it for GPS driving directions, and with this little gadget I can use it for navigating as either the driver or the passenger. I'm currently using one of these as a driver in a Ford F-150 truck. The choices for air vents are not optimal. If I put it on the one to the right of the driver, I knock the phone off when I shift gears. If I put it farther to the right, to the left of the passenger, then it swivels around every time I go around a curve and I have to bring it back to face me. Also, it's really too far to tell what's going on with the phone. So I ended up putting it to the left of the driver near the window. That cuts off cool air on hot days when the sun comes in that window, but everything else is good. I managed to install it in such a way that it doesn't swivel, and the phone gets braced against a knob underneath (lights, I think - which don't come into play as often as shifting) so I can easily touch the screen if I need to. I can see directions if using Google Maps, and I can also easily see who's calling or texting. We also have a Prius, and I'll come back later to update this after I have used the gadget in that car.

Check your air vents before you buy
While you are scouring through the listings of magnetic cell phone mounts, keep one VERY important thing in mind; the shape of your air vents. This product is designed for those air vents that protrude a bit more, like PT Cruisers, and stick out past the dashboard plastics. If your air vents look like that, this is your mount. It actually comes with two (one for slimmer air vent plastics, one for slightly wider designs). If your air vents are a little more recessed behind the dashboard, then you'll want to consider Wizgear's other car mounts with longer grippers, like this one: Magnetic Mount, WizGear Universal Twist-lock Air vent Magnetic Car Mount Holder, for Cell Phones and Mini Tablets with Fast Swift-snap Technology (Twist Lock) Please don't be stupid like I was! Check your air vents BEFORE you add to cart. Seriously, go out to your car now, and see if there is a little plastic lip that sticks out even a 1/2 inch more, then think about Wizgear's other models.

Cheap and strong magnet.
Been wanting to buy one of these for years. I'm not into the whole pop-sockets and things that you glue to stick to your phone cover to even on the outside of your case. I like a clean look and I like my phone in my pocket. So getting something that wouldn't protrude from the phone was a must. I was skeptical of the magnet strength but when I got it installed was very pleased. I also didn't want to stick or glue anything to my car so something that hooked to the air vents was a must. I read the reviews and one said to take the piece that sticks to your phone and just place it between your phone cover and the phone itself. You can peal and stick it to the back of you phone but if you ever change phones you'll need to use another sticky pad. It might slide around a little but I used the larger pad and don't have issues with where to put on the car mount. The installation of the car mount it pretty easy. Depending on your air vents it may work out to be in the perfect spot or not. For my car it's in a great spot. The car mount also seems solid and in place. Overall it's a great way to get your phone up and in better sight if you need GPS or any music controls. That's pretty much what I use it for. For the money this also seemed to be the cheapest option. In all pretty happy with this purchase and would highly recommend. Update 5-13-19: So over a year later and this is still a great product. I even put one of the mounts in my wife's car. It's quite different that my car and the vent is at sharper angle but nonetheless still works good. I bought a new car this year and it still fits well on the vent. I use it just about ever time I get into the car. It's very handy to use and much safer if you need to use your phone. I even switched phones. I did stick the magnet that goes on the phone onto the inside of the phone case. If you change cases you'll have to remember to take it out. But you could, just as I did before, put the magnet between the case and the phone. I stuck it to the case because the magnet does move and I feel like I could easily remove (if I remember) it when or if I change cases. I still love that there is nothing sticking out from the phone the magnet is really strong. Highly recommend this as a cheap and easy way to mount your phone in your car.

Great Car Product :)
I am very happy with this product. Although it just uses the simple mechanism of magnets, it makes life so much easier for me. I do a lot of driving, up and down California, and I use my phone for a GPS and music player during these long trips. Before the Magnetic Mount, I was using another phone holder from Daiso that I bought for $1.50. While the price was cheaper, it was always a chore getting my phone inside of the holder. It was 100% plastic, and my wide phone had difficulties fitting inside of it. It was also a two-hand job and it was a stressful situation for me if I wanted to change the music or add a stop to my GPS. I couldn't take down the phone and I would have to reach out, work on my phone while focusing on the road. Having a magnetic mount has made it a one-hand job and has made my life so much easier during these trips.

... your phone has a fingerprint sensor in the back like a Nexus 6p
Your success with this product will hinge on three things a) does it clip to your vents b) do you use a thin cell phone case c) if your phone has a fingerprint sensor in the back like a Nexus 6p. I solved that problem by drilling a hole in the metal plates that come with this, works like a charm, but some people might not be that handy. WizGear should consider selling metal plates with holes for rear finger sensors. If I was reviewing the Nexus 6p I would complain about sensors in the rear, they suck, don't get one, you can't unlock while driving and using phone for GPS, which is probably the #1 reason to get these mounts, cuz you want up to date maps and traffic info, or, can I get to my destination without buying any more gas.

Great inexpensive holder
I seem to go through vent phone holders a lot, so I was excited to see this sold as a pair for under 10 bucks. I was skeptical about the magnetic mount but it works great so far! I slipped the rectangular metal plate in between the phone and the case with no issues (I have an iphone 6S and a caseology skyfall case). I did not have to use the adhesive, it is snug between the phone and case. The case is clear on the back so you can see the black plate, it would be nice if the plate had a were silver finish to match the phone. The phone stays on the magnet really well in horizontal and vertical viewing. I haven't hit too many bumps at speed yet, but it seems solid. I haven't noticed any ill effects of the magnet on the phone.

I use it in all of my cars!!
Pros: magnets are extremely strong and hold your phone well to the clip, great product and works exactly as expected Cons: NONE! Notes: depending on the car you really need to make sure the location of your vents are in a good spot for these, also that they will fit the vent well enough to hold the phone. Like my 2016 kia optima it fits perfectly and is in a good location to view the phone when driving, but with my 2004 subaru forester xt the vent is much lower, so it makes it harder to look at the phone and pay attention to where you are going if you have your GPS on.

Simple and works well.
Great concept, well executed. I've had a couple of phone mounts like this that used springs to attach the phone, and while they hold the phone tightly, they are difficult to use if you're driving and need to remove the phone for some reason. This is simple: hold the phone up to the mount, it attaches. Simply pull it off to remove. My biggest concern was whether the magnet would be strong enough to hold the phone if, for example, you hit a big bump in the car. As long as you put the phone up to the magnet with the center of the plate in the phone case on the magnet, it holds it very well. I'll also add the style of the clip for attaching to a vent is better designed than most clips of this type. Overall, simple, works well, good value.

Easy to use
Ordered and received within a few days. Easy to use. I attached the circular magnetic pad on the out side of the case of my iPhone 8 S. I have a love handle on this case also and the magnetic circle fit above it under the camera lens. I have Bluetooth in my vehicle so making and recieving calls isn't an issue. I wanted this device so I could still see if I receive any text messages and also for my waze app when traveling. I am very pleased so far with this purchase. My husband drives a classic 1996 mustang so he needed this to answer calls in that vehicle. Loved that it was inexpensive and came in a two pack. The magnet holds the phone with no slippage or turning of the phone. It does get ice cold due to the air conditioner running but I don't think this will harm the phone. ( at least I hope not).
