Easy to install. Had a tv without a hdmi port. Bought this so I could use my fire stick. Have to use an aux cable which plugs into the vga part and then plug the other end into your tv. If you dont have a headphone jack and have rca ports, you'll have to get a different cable that has rca connectors and headphone end. Worked perfectly!

The HDMI ports on my dumb (not Smart) TV stopped working. We don’t have cable and just used our Fire stick for streaming. Unfortunately you gotta have the HDMI ports to use the Fire stick. The TV repair man said it was probably the motherboard and it wouldn’t be worth fixing it. Before I took the TV to the dump I had the idea of finding an adapter to see if I could get the Fire stick working through the VGA port. I came across this product and got excited. It not only converts the video, but also sends the audio from the HDMI connection so you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable to get the audio through your TV internal speakers or stereo receiver. The package came fairly quick, and when I opened up I was very impressed with the packaging. I had everything plugged up within seconds and I seriously cannot be happier. Saved me hundreds of dollars now that I don’t have to buy a new TV. Thank you Ugreen!

As another reviewer stated, my older, early edition of an LG smart TV, which is probably about 15 years old suddenly went black when all of the HDMI ports quit operating. I Googled the issue and found a guy on Youtube (I love Youtube how to's!) who showed, on an LG similar to mine, how the PC / VGA port on the back could be used as an HDMI input for the TV signal (DISH, in my case) with 1080i picture, as apposed to using the not so great Analog AVI port. This UGREEN HDMI to VGA adapter worked like a charm, and I have my old TV back in top viewing pleasure! One note, this adapter does not come with a 3.5mm male to male audio plug, which you must buy separately to plug into both the adapter and TV to make the audio work. I had a couple lying around, anyway. You will also need an HDMI male to male cable.

Our Panasonic Plasma TV is still going strong after 13 years, but only supports 480p/1080i over HDMI. Just bought a new Xbox without realising - unique to all our HDMI sources - it only supports 720p/1080p. A check in the manual revealed the TV allows 720p over VGA. Didn't have high hopes for this inexpensive device, but it came in a nice box and worked first time! Crisp HD picture plus high quality stereo audio. (Xbox did not need the included USB power cable.)

I have a very nice Sony Bravia TV that had dead HDMI ports. For a while, I just fed it a signal through the cable line, but I wanted to use a Comcast on it. After checking that the VGA port still worked, I decided to buy this adaptor. There were a few that were a little cheaper, but there was questions on if they will work with a "TV Stick". I decided on this one because it specifically said it worked with that type of device. I'm happy to say that it works without an issue. It's nice to be able to watch near high-def on my old TV again. I say near high-def because its not as clean as my newer TV... but I can't blame the adaptor. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the show being cast, or if it's just the quality of older TV screen. But regardless... it's WAY better than the cable signal. It's only been running for a day, so I can't comment on life, but the build quality is very nice.

When I first got the product it didn't work with any of the screens I tried it on. I was quite frustrated. However, once I got in touch with the seller, they responded promptly and helped me troubleshoot the issues and finally helped me resolve the problem. The problem was not with the product but, with the monitor I was using - once I reduced the input resolution based on UGreen's feedback, everything started working just fine. I have to say, I was very impressed with their prompt responses and clear instructions on the steps to follow. Very good customer service.

I was unable to connect a second generation Firestick to an old HDTV via the HDMI port. All I would get was a message "not supported". I tried a HDMI to analog converter but the quality of the picture was lousy. I searched again and found this little device that converts the output of the stick to VGA. The picture is now high resolution and I can leave the cable box plugged into the TV HDMI jack.

I needed this device because I wanted to replace a cable box with a roku device with one of my televisions. That television didn't have an hdmi port so this was used and all I needed was to get an hdmi cord and attach my speaker cord and voila! ( Not using cable box was an extra $10 dollars off my cable bill) p.s. This company UGREEN emailed me to make sure I was happy with the device and or needed any assistance using it. That was cool too!

Works great with my Retro Pie setup! Getting a crisp picture on my 1080 monitor took some digging. Here are the steps: 1.) Make sure you use the included USB cable and plug that into your Pie (or anywhere that has power, but Pie was easy) 2.) SSH into your Pie using Putty or the like 3.) Run the command "sudo nano /boot/config.txt" 4.) Now that you're in the config, delete the # in front of the lines for "hdmi_group" and "hdmi_mode" 5.) Set hdmi_group = 82 6.) Save the file by hitting ctrl+O and then exit with ctrl+X 7.) Restart Pie This works with my 1080p HD monitor, your results may vary. Have fun!

I use this to play Roku on my HP monitor. I bought a 27-inch monitor which turned out be a bit too big to use as a monitor, so I decided to use it as a TV but that monitor does not have an audio out. I used this so that I can use the VGA for Roku and use the audio out of this to connect to a soundbar with a sub. This solution turned out to be better than buying a TV as I could get a superb picture quality with excellent sound (most budget TV have poor inbuilt sound). PS: do not buy a connector without an external power source to connect Roku to monitor, as those products will heat your Roku stick and you will end up wasting your money.
