Don't even bother with the plastic wheels you'll find at Petco and the like, this is the only wheel your chin will ever need. It's sturdy, it's huge, and surprisingly, it's almost silent. My chin used to run on her plastic "silent spinner" wheel, and it would bang against the side of the cage and make a ton of noise. This thing mounts with a big X bracket, and no matter how hard she's running, all I hear is the sound of her little feet on the metal. She absolutely loves this thing, it gives her plenty of room to run as fast as she wants, and it's actually become her favorite spot to just hang out.

BEST chinchila wheel EVER!

Honestly, this is the best Chinchilla wheel ever. I finally bought this wheel January of 2018 after debating about buying it since mid 2017. I was worried this wheel would be damaged due to the FedEx delivery guy throwing it on my porch but it wasn't dented or anything. It is definitely one of the best chinchilla wheel designs you could ever come across. I absolutely love that this wheel has a wide running space. It provides plenty of running space for my large chinchilla girl. My chinchilla used to have to the stupid, poorly design 12 inch Kaytee Silent Spinner wheel which I hated because she would hop instead of run and she would fall of it it because it was too narrow for her plus it was also loud. I've tried other silent wheels and honestly you're going to hear some noises no matter what wheel you have but this one is the most quiet by far; the others were very loud in comparison. This wheel is perfect. It's spacious, durable, quiet, and allows my chinchilla to run the way chinchillas are supposed to run. I'm so happy she has 15 inch chin spin wheel, it was completely worth it. The only negative for me is that the paint of this wheel comes off when my chinchilla chews on it, she literally chews EVERYTHING she owns plus the things she thinks she owns, but that is not a fault on this product, only my chinchilla. Otherwise, I see this wheel lasting a very long time. highly recommend.

The best thing you will ever buy your chin!

The only wheel you need for your chinchilla! We held off and tried other wheels since this one was pricey. Pet store wheels were too small for our chin and she couldn't really run/hop in them. They were also super noisy and I'd find myself taking them down at night to get sleep! The chin spin looks great and my chinchilla can actually run naturally. It took her a day but now she loves it and we can barely here it! The only thing I hear is the sound of her feet hitting the metal and I have to listen closely. Makes me feel so much better when I have days where she can't get out of her cage!

SUPER! Great recreation for ferrets. Solid construction. Worth the price.

This is a great piece of equipment. Yes, it is pricey, but well-worth the investment. The construction is solid; the hardware and bearings absolutely industrial-strength. If you plan to be a ferret owner as part of your ongoing lifestyle, the Chin Spin is the only wheel you'll ever need. My younger (BIG-baby) ferret, Mickey, was just not getting the amount of exercise he needed -- in spite of his daily outings and indoor run-arounds. He just really needed to burn off more energy. This wheel has definitely done the trick. Now, everyday he gets properly and thoroughly "tuckered-out." Regarding the attached photo, please note that Mickey is a really HUGE ferret (he weighs over 3 pounds), whereas his much smaller ("big") sister, Sydney, only weighs 1.4 pounds. Therefore, the photo might give the impression that the wheel is smaller than it actually is. No worries. It's a BIG wheel, heavy-duty, 15" in diameter, and almost 7" wide. It should also be noted that, since ferrets run with a typical sort of hop-gallop, they do have a short period of adjustment as they learn to modify their gait to more of a smooth flowing run, like a mouse or hamster. But don't worry, they will adapt quickly and absolutely love it!

Best wheel... EVER!

I have bought 5 different wheels, 2 being silent spinners, before I decided enough was enough because they were so loud AND kept me up at night since their cage is in my room. The silent spinners were ok, I had them rigged up so they weren't so loud but they do not even compare to this wheel! I wish I would have bought one of these sooner! I have 2 chinchillas and one runs louder than the other on the previous wheels I had, with this one I only hear their cute little feet pitter patting away (sounds like frozen pees very lightly hitting a metal pot). The wheel is huge! I have a critter nation 2 story and it takes up a little over half the bottom level. With it being so big, a person won't have to worry about their chins running uncomfortably. So yes, splurge and get this wheel! 100x worth the money!

Heaven sent!

This wheel is the best! It is larger than the all metal one I had but oh my goodness it is awesome! My old wheel (not a chin spin) was so noisy and actually breaking the side of my critter nation cage.. any by noisy I mean when the chinchilla jumped off it was so loud it actually was quite jarring if you were standing near the cage....anyhow, this one is so quite that all I can hear is my chins tiny feet on the metal..saved me from some serious headaches! This chin spin although heavier seems to be better supported by the braces so it's not tearing up my cage...so all in all this thing is awesome!

Must have for chinchillas

Best wheel available

I'm glad I did some research. This wheel is perfect for my chin baby. She has plenty of room to stretch when running. My chin came in a small cage and I question if it ever had an exercise wheel. We upgraded her to a much bigger cage and this wheel arrived about a week later. She ran and wore herself out so much that she was falling asleep on her side. It's amazing how quickly she can pick up speed. Sometimes I hear her running at night, but it's a lot quieter than I anticipated it would be. Well made and will last a long time, I'm sure! Edit Added year later: Still going great on the first bearing it came with.

If you love your chinch, get this wheel!!!

I was hesitant to get this wheel both for the price and for the fact that this is the 4th wheel I've tried in the past 2 years. Before I had a 12" wheel when my chinchilla was smaller, and once he was full grown I could tell he was having a harder time using his wheel. He used to just hop, now he can actually RUN in this 15" wheel. Never again will he have to use such a small wheel. Heres a pic to show size comparison to him. Long rambling short: GET THIS WHEEL.
