My first Waterpic product! This unit is actually great for portability. It's relatively quiet and doesn't have to clutter up precious space on the bathroom countertop when not in use. We store it inside the vanity. Our bathroom does not have a lot of countertop area to begin with, so our ability to do thus was a purchasing factor. I did a fair amount of research and product comparison before purchasing this model. Watching comparison videos helped me realize this was a quieter unit than the large countertop reservoir ones. It is certainly larger in hand than the narrow wands of the reservoir units, but as my first Waterpic style device, I had no problem with that by comparison to previous experience. Watch the Waterpic video here on Amazon to see what to expect. I like the fact that you fill the reservoir with warm water for each use. It takes about 2 fills per use to get the job done. I thought that was going to be a pain in the neck, but it is really a non issue. The water always seems fresh because of this, actually. I know there are reviews on this site talking about battery problems with these units. I cannot speak to their experience, but can tell you the charge time is rather short and you don't have to fear "overcharging" the unit. The charger shuts off when capacity is topped off. The only caution advised by the manufacturer (per a phone conversation I had with a very pleasant customer service rep) is not to allow the battery to completely discharde before recharging it. You can easily tell when the battery is weakening (after a week's use or so). Placing the magnetic charger on the unit at that time refills the power just fine.

Dentist recommended that I get this because of the problems I had with irritated gums. I was sceptical but tried it. The ability to use it in the shower has made it a daily routine and I have noticed no more bleeding gums. Guess my dentist knew what she was talking about. Easy to use and multiple tips makes this a good purchase. The "wireless" charging has been real nice and despite daily use only have to charge it one a week.

A water-floss system was suggested by my dentist. I went online to discover the myriad of solutions. Waterpik is a name that is synonymous to water flossing as Kleenex is to paper tissue. I considered relative price, counter space required and user recommendations. This unit met all standards I had set. The "footprint" on the counter is small compared to the larger units made by the same company. The water reservoir is the largest variable. The unit was not the most expensive but not the least. Finally, user recommendations were within a range I thought were acceptable. I have been satisfied with performance. The power of the pulsating water stream is very good. It is easy to keep available, within view on the bathroom counter, thus encouraging regular use. The water reservoir and the powering unit are combined. Once filled, the time of use will vary and I estimate 30-45 seconds. It is simple to fill and complete a second round of flossing. The flossing attachments included in the sale should satisfy multiple need uses. I have ordered another pack of the tips I use to have in inventory. I cannot attest to the expected length of service for the tips I use. In closing, I was a skeptic about the need for this type of home treatment. I thought I brushed very well targeting the toughest to reach areas in my mouth. Water-flossing opened my eyes and changed my mind. Not only are you addressing a real dental hygiene need but you will like the way your mouth feels afterwards. Make sure you fill the reservoir of the unit with warm or tepid water which will not shock your mouth!

This seems to work well for me. My dentist really wanted me to get the large unit but my sink can't accommodate that size nor am I willing to bring it up from under the sink every night. SO the small one it is. I bought it specifically do deal with the back of my molars, where I can't floss well. Using it for just those sections, I can fill this up once and get the job done. If I had to use it over my whole mouth and not speed through, I'd have to fill it up twice. The high setting seems like the only one to use otherwise I feel like it's not working. That is just a feeling though and the lower settings could be just fine but apparently I equate gum pain to working....much like regular flossing.

I have never had a water pik before. My wife has one, and hers is as small as an electric toothbrush, and I imagined that this was going to be a similar size. It is not, it is twice the size, in girth (similar height). That being said, it holds an appropriate amount of water for 45 seconds to a minute of continuous water flossing (my wife's turns her unit on and off for individual squirts). I did want a unit that was not tethered by a water tube to a fixed base, and this unit meets my requirements. It does seem to do a good job of cleaning. It also has three settings for soft, medium, or hard pressure, which is useful. I personally would not take this unit on a trip overseas, as its size and weight make it a poor choice over a container of floss, but you could take it if you wanted to. Now that I understand how big these units are in general, I would buy it again.

This wireless Waterpik is easy and convenient to use. A few weeks ago the battery stopped holding a charge. I'd use it for less than a minute and it would be dead. Today I called Waterpik customer service and was advised to disconnect charger from device then hold in power button for 10 seconds then release. Alex at Waterpik customer service said that this would rest the battery. She advised to charge for 6 hours and report back to her whether that solved the problem. It did! Very pleased with the solution.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (five stars) I'm new to water flossing, but traditional (string) flossing has become more problematic for me, so I wanted to check this out. Turns out it works as well as traditional (string) floss. My initial web searches had all pulled up "research" that sounded more like ads for water flossers, but I finally found some NIH articles showing that it does, in fact, work better than string flossing (search for the phrase: NIH water string flossing). So I got this unit myself and was surprised to find first-hand that it works as well and perhaps better than traditional floss--my mouth felt cleaner than it usually does after flossing, and when I followed up with string flossing (to see if it would get anything the water flosser hadn't), all was clear. PROS * Works better than traditional string floss - leaves your teeth cleaner * Has different strength settings so you can adjust * Comes with multiple tips. Most of the ones with brushes say they'll need replacing after 3-6 months, but the one that's just a clear plastic tube seems like it will last longer * Battery charger is magnetic - you set the unit down on the counter, plug in the charger, and then magnetically attach the charger to the front of the unit (I tried attaching it backwards or too high / too low, and it just realigns itself to be correct, so it's super easy) CONS * It's quite big - maybe 10 inches tall and 4 inches at the base (while string floss is teeny tiny), though fortunately it's easy to hold and not heavy * Has a learning curve (probably less of one than string floss, but most of us already know how to string floss)... nothing bad, but it takes a while for it to become a _habit_ to not turn it on outside your mouth (which just shoots water across the room, as you'd expect, and is easy enough to clean up) NEUTRAL * You may have to fill the water reservoir at the bottom a few times during flossing... but this is easy to do, and I'm glad they didn't just make the unit even bigger than it already is * The instructions say you can use the unit in the shower, which would be nice to keep down the mess while you're getting through the learning curve, but I don't like the logistics of refilling the empty reservoir while showering *************** UPDATE: three months later, the battery is failing even though I leave this plugged in all the time (except when using it). The battery can no longer make it through a single flossing so I have to switch back to manual floss partway through. In doing so, I found that even though most of the time my mouth feels cleaner with water floss (vs. traditional string floss), there **were** a few pockets where normal flossing again made my gums bleed (a sign that the water floss wasn't getting in there well enough). So I'd suggest that you continue to string-floss on occasion for those benefits. Lowering rating to just 3 stars out of 5 because there's no excuse for a battery failing to hold a charge after just 3 months; otherwise I'd probably do 4 stars. *************** UPDATE 2: After another 3 months of flossing 1/2 my mouth with water (until the battery would die) and then switching to string floss, I finally got around to calling customer service. I wish I had done it sooner! Within 15 minutes they had a new unit on its way to me. I did have to read them my serial number to confirm the purchase, and I mailed the old one back (so they can test and see how/why/where it failed). But I've now had the new one for 6 months and the battery is still as good as ever. I still string floss 1-3 times/month so I'll notice if I again start missing anywhere with the water floss. But the water flosser really does a great job and makes my teeth feel fantastic whenever I use it.

Great water pik. Well worth the money. Low setting is gentle enough to not hurt your gums. Love the extra pieces that came for variety of uses. Charge holds for several days which is pretty good. I find that the entire tank runs out before I complete my bottom set of teeth. I have to refill 3 times in most cases to get all teeth, but I do thorough cleaning. Water tank could be bigger, and the placement of the tank opening is awkward so when you need to empty the tank it won't get all the water out and will leave a little bit in the bottom, causing hard water stains over time. Two fixed, take the tank out every time and empty afterwards or open the water plug hole after use to aid in evaporation.

My dentist recommended this product to me. I have tried water flossing one other time in my life, but it was this huge bulky system that was hard to use. This product is sooo simple and easy. Also so much smaller than those huge bulky kinds. Simple to use, and it feels amazing! It cleans so much better than regular flossing, and its quicker too. It has been so much easier to integrate into my daily routine than regular flossing. I can now tell my dentist truthfully that I do floss daily!

Upgraded from a cheaper brand product when it broke down. This is powerful and does a great job of cleaning. Some review comments on this product mention the size of the tank as being a detriment. However I disagree for two reasons: - This is a portable device - making the tank any bigger would make it more cumbersome to transport. - The power of the product on high means that as you get more practised at using it, you can get through the job more quickly Originally started on about four tankfuls, but now can achieve a perfect result in two. Pros: - Portable - Battery lasts 3 full days of 2 x use before flashing the charge light - no perceptible degradation in power during this time. - Inductive charging means no holes where water can get in, so more likely to last (has already lasted longer than the cheapie I bought previously. - Powerful stream on High (3 pressure settings) - Swivel head so you don't have to dribble all over the unit Cons: - No notable cons to this product.
