A big step up from the official Xbox one remote.
This should be the official remote for Xbox one. It has the same feel as the official one with additional functionality. The best part is, it does not nead direct line of sight to work! I was sceptical about buying this remote because some of the reviews said that the volume controls don't work. I haven't had any issues with volume or any other buttons for that matter, so it might vary for individual set ups. I highly recommend this remote.

Lovely
I wish I’d gotten one of these a while ago. I mostly game on my PC so my XBox is kind of a Netflix/Hulu/streaming machine. It got too annoying to navigate apps with the controller so I decided it was time to get a remote and it’s so worth it. It’s much easier to watch stuff, I don’t accidentally hit buttons on the controller and rewind or anything anymore. It didn’t come with instructions so if there’s a way to set it up so that you can use th volume buttons I don’t know how to do it, that’s the only downside.

Ignore the negative reviews, great remote!
I've had this remote going on 2 weeks, I was a bit hesitant to purchase it but am glad I made the decision to. It feels very good in the hand, just enough weight to not feel cheap, the buttons have a nice tactile click to them and stick up just enough to navigate the remote without looking at it. The auto backlight is a nice touch for watching movies in the dark though I concerned the battery life will not be as resilient. Our pit mix got ahold of it after a few days and chewed the top causing the home button to stick, 4 screws, a guitar pick (easy disassembly) and x-acto knife later the button is free'd back up and the remote continues to work like a charm. I noticed a lot of people claiming the remote needs direct line of sight to the Xbox. This is far from true, I can point the remote 180 toward the kitchen and it will still control everything fine. Where I noticed it stops working is if it is behind an object (pillow, couch, person). I'll update my review if any issues become present.

The setup was quick and easy via Settings -> TV & OneGuide -> Device Control ...
Controller works out of the box with the Xbox One. I ended up getting 1 TNP IR Emitter Cable to be able to turn up/down the volume, change channel and even turn off the TV when I turn of the Xbox. The setup was quick and easy via Settings -> TV & OneGuide -> Device Control -> TV Setup once the IR Emitter where properly placed on the IR receiver of the TV. Anyone can just pick up the controller and start watching some Hulu Live TV when not playing video games.

Buy this remote.
I'm like 99% sure its my TV, because my brothers controller does it on my tv too but his samsung has no problems with it. I have an RCA 55in 1080p tv (essentially what you see in a store displaying stuff) when I hold any direction down on the circle pad it will turn the volume up. And when i let go and do it again the volume turns down. Again my remote doesn't do this on my brothers xbox but his does it on mine. Besides this. This is the hands down bees knees number one macho man big cheese remote of remotes. It lights up upon movement so when your hand smacks it while your looking for it in the dark it lights up. It controls everything on the xbox, cable box, and tv (once paired with the IR blaster triple head) giving me the ability to turn my tv, cable box, and xbox off. All while leaving the gaming controllers aside and away in its place. I have no clue why xbox didn't do this first. It was a no brainer. If you own a next gen xbox consol then this is for you. (EDIT) I got an AVR and no more issues with the volume. It just works now. Like a dream. Only thing I wish was better is the back tends to break easily. Still 5 star.

Excellent XBox One remote
This is the best remote I have used for the Xbox One. The standard smaller remote that is produced by Xbox is good but it does not have as many functional buttons as this remote. If you are watching a streaming service through your Xbox, this remote is the best option out there. I don't use it with a DVR and I have heard some customers have trouble controlling their devices with it. For my purposes it works perfectly and controls my TV as advertised.

THE remote for your Xbox
Other reviews generally were really happy so I figured I'd try it out. Meets all my needs. Feels so well made. Very pleased I went with this instead of the official Xbox remote. Remote is a great length. Slightly shorter than my Sony TV remote. Fairly easy to access any button you need (no different than a typical remote of this size). Feel is fantastic with a soft touch coating. Look is very modern with even the battery access being hidden without any noticeable extra lines on the remote. It's clear a good amount of thought and design went into this. My Xbox was already set to control my Sony TV (turn on / turn off with unit) and this remote was set to work with Xbox as soon as the batteries went in, so my default I could control my TV volume with no additional steps. The backlighting on the remote is a nice soft blueish white. More white than blue, but it looks pretty lux. Only two slight negatives I will mention: 1. The illumination is triggered by motion and as such once you pick it up and stare at it the illuminated keypad almost immediately starts to dim off again. It's a bit odd, almost as though it should stay on longer by default after sensing motion. Is this a dealbreaker? Absolutely not. 2. The center toggle (left, right, up, down) works just fine, but I find the size of my hand and the shape of the remote causes it to "slip" just slightly when I am using that center toggle. I may train myself to hold it in a way to not cause this by default and again. Is this a dealbreaker? Absolutely not. Overall I do love it and rate it 5 stars as a result.

Perfect for watching Hulu through my XBox One S
This remote is great for me. My husband and I are currently living with family while our house is being built. We occupy a small room with our 2 dogs. We were not about to sign a contract for satellite or cable TV for the few months we are here so I decided to check out Hulu. It suits our needs for the time being. The only problem was using our XBox One S controller. The controller is very touchy like if you tossed it on the bed, you ran the chance of one of the toggles getting pressed. Then the show we were watching would rewind, ff, pause, or whatever. Also the controller would turn off too quickly (I know.... to save battery life). It just became a pain and frustrating to continue to use the controller for anything other than game playing. This remote is great for my use. When I got it I was all ready to program my Samsung TV for volume, etc. Well I didn't have to! It recognized my TV right away and programmed itself! First time ever an electronic did that for me! The ONLY thing that I don't like is how quickly the backlight turns off. Now that I am getting familiar with the button locations it is not that big of deal. But my first few day I was constantly shaking it while I searched for the right button.

Better than the Xbox controller when not playing games
I got this remote September 2017 and can't imagine not having it now! It has every option I need (except a keyboard) and for someone like me who uses my Xbox for all my media it is a must have. Here's my take. PROS *It simply worked out of the box on my Xbox One S and Xbox One X, no syncing needed *Has all the options expected on a remote (volume, channels, play, pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.) and additionally has all the Xbox controller buttons including the "select" and "start" buttons *Has directional arrows and a select button to navigate both Xbox and app menus *Light up buttons when you move the remote is very useful and handy *Don't know what the expected battery life is but I'm still using the two AA batteries it came with 6 months ago CONS *It has limited range however I've never really noticed this except when trying to use it briefly from another room *The illumination feature is very short and kind of surprising how quickly the buttons dim *For some odd reason the classic Xbox buttons (X, Y, A, B) don't light up at all. I know where these are on the remote and don't have a problem using them but would be nice if they lit it like the rest of the remote *Built in mic for voice commands would be great I can't recommend this enough if you use your Xbox for Netflix, Hulu, OneGuide, BluRay/4K player, etc. The price is great and the functionality is well worth it!

INCREDIBLE!
Amazing! Outstanding! I have an XBOX ONE, Westinghouse TV, and Xfinity cable box. I don’t have a Kinect, so I got IR blasters to signal the remote to my TV and Cable Box (an extra $6 accessory, no biggie). IMPORTANT NOTE: IR nodes must be placed DIRECTLY over the IR emitters in the TV and Cable box. I looked up a diagram of where they are located on both the TV and Cable box when I had an issue with my volume control not working and channel changing was sketchy. IR node placement fixed the problems. Now everything is seemless! It works with tv controls (including power and volume), has a really cool TV guide with the option to favorite (guide varies by region), and the usual Xbox controls. First time in my life I have one controller for all of my entertainment, and quick access to a pause button! The remote it’s self feels extremely nice, better than I expected. It’s backlit, and has all of the buttons needed for XBOX, BLU Ray, and TV controls. Fantastic purchase. Highly recommend.
