So I know I should have looked at the picture ...
So I know I should have looked at the picture and realized just how small this thing is, but it's seriously tiny! It also connects immediately when I plug it into my Mac. I did reformat it right away into exFAT so that it works with Macs and PCs, and because the original drive name was not in English. I plan on using this drive to replace an old 500GB HDD that I have, so I'll be migrating a bunch of files over soon. I'll update this review if I run into any issues with this drive, so far this seems solid. The only concern I have is losing it!

Fastest backups I've ever done
I faithfully do monthly backup imaging of my computers with weekly incremental backups. The portable drive I was using was filling up as my data has expanded with lots of travel photos and videos. So I got this SSD as the new backup drive, which is then copied to an off-line NAS. (Never rely on a single backup.) It's super fast, especially when backing up another SSD. Gets a little warm after a 50GB backup, but its moving a lot of bits and I don't think that's unreasonable. Obviously long-term reliability is not known, but I've had other PNY USB storage that never had any problems.

This thing is blazingly fast!
Pros: 1. Fast enough to edit photos from 2. Very small and light 3. Included cord has held up well Cons: 1. Read/Write speed not quite as fast as advertised A little background about me: I'm a college student working as a photographer about 35 hours per week, and I shoot 3000-4000 images in a normal month. If I travel somewhere cool, the monthly shutter count can be closer to 6000. Needless to say, I'm in constant need of storage space, especially since MacBook disk space is so precious (mine has the 250GB drive). I have a WD MyBook 4TB drive that sits on my desk at school, and it's pretty fast and very reliable. However, I have two problems with it: 1. It sits on my desk (external power adapter) 2. It's fast, but not fast enough to edit from (easily) This PNY Elite SSD solves both of those problems! I use Lightroom to import photos from my SD card to the SSD, and it really is as fast as advertised! Several GBs of photos in a matter of seconds. The write speed is plenty fast enough so that Lightroom/Photoshop editing is not laggy, which was my main concern with any external drive. Like I mentioned, the WD MyBook HDD just wasn't fast enough, so that in order to maintain my sanity, I had to import photos to my internal drive, edit, export, and then transfer the files to the external hard drive. Then, I couldn't keep the photos with me. Now, I import directly to this SSD, edit and export, and put the drive in my backpack! It's small and light enough to actually let dangle by the cord without any worry of damaging the USB port of the laptop or the drive. Also, it's built super-solidly, and I'd have no reservations about carrying it in my pocket at all. I've had this thing for a few months now, and the port on the device has not loosened significantly, which is a problem I've experienced with other drives. All in all, I'm happy to recommend the PNY Elite SSD to anyone needing a small, lightweight, blazingly fast storage solution!

Tiny powerhouse. Truly excellent value if you get it on sale
I passed this by at its regular selling price, but when I saw it on sale, I didn’t hesitate. Now I’m sorry that I didn’t check to see if I could get two at the sale price. I simply plugged this into a USB 3.0 port an ultralight laptop with an Intel Core i7 running under Windows 10. Using Crystal DiskMark 5, this wonderful little drive clocked better than 400 Mb/S on Read and Write! I got this primarily for use with my laptop when I travel and do photo and video editing. It weighs practically nothing, is very small and fast. Everything I could want. I’m going to keep my eyes open for the next time it is offered at a sale price on Amazon and get a second. Jerry

Perfect for Xbox One and PCs!
This SSD is amazing! It did exactly what I wanted it for. I got it for my Xbox One and moved my games over to it. The boot up time of my games, namely PUBG, is a night and day difference. I was in a game and the game crashed just as I jumped out of the plane and the game booted back up before my player landed on the ground. Just make sure that you format the SSD for games and not for media. This definitely works with the Xbox One Even though Microsoft says you have to have at least 256gb drive for it to work.

Great for recording digital content!
Works much better & faster than a USB 3.0 stick as DVR memory space because you can record HD videos without it skipping when played back like it does with USB 3.0 memory sticks.

Fantastic little device
Fantastic little device. Just the right size so it doesn't get lost or misplaced. Though others have noted it gets a bit warm upon use, that doesn't seem to be much of a concern. Once the data is encrypted, this is a good little device to take when traveling. It loads onto the desktop right away and quickly ejects as well. Similarly password box loads quickly.

Impressive Read and Write Speeds!
Got this to use with my early 2015 Macbook Pro Retina after I realized that 120gb of storage is way too little. When I first plugged in, I got some wierd (chinese?) letters as the name, but it wasn't too big of an issue once I renamed it. So I was in between this and the Samsung T3, but ultimately chose this drive because it was a daily deal and the 480gb was only 110. At the time of this review, Amazon also has the Samsung t3 240gb for 100. I ultimately decided that since I wasn't doing any video editing, I chose to "sacrifice" write speed in favor of more space. However, I ran some speed test through Black Magic, and got some incredible speeds. If I'm not mistaken, these are similar to the Samsung T3! I'm glad I chose this drive, and I'm planning to use to daily as a drive that is attached to my macbook cover via velcro.

Fast as a bullet.
Great little SSD. Uses a standard USB Micro-B 10 pin connector that can be replaced provide connection to USB type C or A. Comes with an A connector. Depending on you computer's USB port speed this drive can be used to host applications or VMs.

It and my Hotspot never leave me
The perfect little temporary holding ground for transferals. Love this thing. If they can make it a TB at this size i would go nuts.
