I already own an Xbox One S but since I have a 4k TV I decided to purchase this to be able to take advantge of the 4k. I am a PC gamer and no other console got me excited like this one because now it allows me to play 4k games in my living room instead of in my computer room slouched over. Pros: -4k HDR console that is half the price of a high end gaming PC -UI feels more snappy and responsive - If the devs support it I can even do 1080p 60fps instead of 4k 30fps depending on the game. - Small form factor The only Con I can think of currently is the lack of console exclusives. Until recently I bought all my games on my original PS4 (not pro) but now I will be getting them on the X so I can enjoy 4k or 1080p 60fps if the devs allow it.

I am upgrading to the Xbox One X from an original Xbox One (Sunset Overdrive, white version). I used the latest Forza Motorsport 7 to compare the differences on both my 1080p display and recently purchased 4K television (Sony 900E). With the extra 4K texture download that is now available, I can see a slight visual improvement on the 1080p screen. ALso, everything also runs more smoothly with the added power of the X1X - menus, game loading, etc. Where the real value really shows is on the 4K display, with HDR. Absolutely incredible looking. To me, if you already have an Xbox One or One S and a 1080p display, the reason to upgrade isn't really worth the additional cost, unless you plan to grab a 4K display within the near future. If you have a 4K display, it is a definite visual improvement and well worth it. Also, for those that are still on the fence because of the $499 price, consider that a standalone UHD Blu-Ray player currently isn't exactly a bargain and having it included in this, at this price, is a pretty big bonus (still cannot understand why Sony did not include it their PS4 Pro). The only movie I currently have that takes advantage of this is "The Martian", but it looks incredible - a better experience than seeing it in the theater and I don't see having an affordable, better at home movie option any time soon. I think this is thanks to both the 4K and the HDR capabilities being available currently. I own both the PS4 and Xbox systems - I did not upgrade to the PS4 Pro because at the time, I didn't feel that it had enough advantages over the base system to justify the expense. With this, I do and am happy I made the purchase. It is nice to see that Microsoft has listened to the feedback from the gaming community and is again focusing on making their equipment a true game system. Arguments will rage forever about which system has the best exclusives, etc., but as far as equipment is concerned, Microsoft is at the top right now (but, also the most expensive - you get what you pay for). Enjoy.

This is an excellent offering from Microsoft. I cannot attest to every piece of Software that will hit the system, because it will be up to the developers to utilize the hardware and most have at this point of launch. The set up is super easy, just plug in a Hard Drive with your games and settings backed up and you are good to go. Plenty of options for HDR (8 and 10 bit Support) and the addition of the 4K Blu-ray Player is exceptional. It’s also a very nice looking box to sit on your entertainment center, oh and Microsoft actually included the stand and a high quality HDMI in the box!

I love it. It’s taking its place over my PS4 Pro in the first HDMI slot that’s for sure. I’m pretty sure you already know what the Xbox One X does otherwise you wouldn’t be here. Project Scorpio Edition is that same Xbox One X console just with a pretty coat of paint. It has poka dots on the top and goes to a gray color tone. The X really does look good with the black and hint of green lettering on the front. This is a dense system very heavy but not difficult to move; You can tell Microsoft put their heart and soul into this product. The system have a lot of power in it and perfect for showcasing your 4K TV. Xbox One X is quick with the UI and it does open apps insanely fast. 4K HDR looks phenomenal Gears 4 and Forza 7 really shine on the system just wish they had more new first party games that took advantage of the system at release. The family loves using it and they loves the 4K Blu-ray built in. In my opinion it really is and remain an all in one box; that was Microsoft vision and I believe they promised on that. $500 is a steep price to pay at first but I feel like the investment and value is there just not “unlocked” And the X is surely to come down in price with retailers in the next 6 months. Xbox 360 games look better but don’t expect a massive improvement. All in all it’s the perfect streaming box and the most powerful console in the world right now. Spend the extra cash on the Xbox One X and have it all. (Note: Get a external hard drive. It is a MUST. No really, AAA games now take up nearly 100GB of space or more. I get it with the massive 4K textures but this takes the cake. I now have 214GB left from the 1 TB and keep in mind that not all of these are UHD games but imagine 1-2 years from now. 1TB is not going to cut it.) Update 11/23/17: I’m already out of hard drive space not even a month away. So yeah I would highly recommend a 2 - 8 TB HDD if you certainly going to download a lot of games. Destiny 2 will get an 4K HDR patch next month. As it stands it’s 33 GB, the 4K textures on this game is going to be massive I’m sure. I notice someone else said you shouldn’t be shocked by games eating up space and questions people if they are gamers who are stunned by this. That is besides the point, I’m not “shocked” by the space being so overblown. I’m simply pointing out that these companies can’t get away with such small storage for much longer going forward and for YOU to get an HDD as soon as possible. They are already working on improvements to how storage is handled. For expample: Devs can cut out things that don’t matter to the local country games and giving you the opition deselect language packs. This is what is needed going forward and atlease glad they are going to do something and I’m proud of that.

(I'm a millenial who owns every console released after 1990) Sound fidelity, 1080p HDR, console noise, 4k, frame rate and multiplayer loading speeds are distinct improvements. Ultra simple box packaging for once. Typical first-time startup updates so internet is always required for that. 1080p TV gaming is amazing as the console significantly enhances the definition. I would have still played on the 1080p TV if that was my only option. 4k HDR TVs are required for the best experience. Sound fidelity for a 5.1 surround is incredible. It is 10x better than the prior version. Rich, crisp and deep. Same exact user interface as prior Xbox One generations. *shrugs* Launch titles are meh. People will need to wait until 2018 for higher quality HDR games. Current games play better. File sizes for HDR 4k enhanced games are massive. An external hadrive needed at some point. Network file transfer between consoles must be on a a wired network for speed. If you have a wireless setup the transfer rate is about 10mbs. 200mps+ for wired networks. Hooking up a third party webcam is simple. I mainly bought this the sound fidelity, 4k and to load my games faster than other users during multiplayer. Overall im super duper ultra amazing satisfied.

I am a 70 year old gamer and bought my first console December 2016 - the Xbox. That unit served me well so with new enhancements to the Xbox X I decided to sell my regular Xbox and buy the new Xbox X (Scorpio Edition). I also purchased a 4 TB Western Digital Passport External Hard Drive (WDBYFT0040BBK) for $99.00 which is working out great and was very simple to connect. I have had the new console about a month. I am loving it and, so far, have had no problems with either the console or external HD. I have the Xbox X connected to an older LG TV. An unexpected surprise was how much the graphics quality of my games increased even though my TV is not 4K. I had also planned on purchasing a 4K TV but, with the graphics increase, I may just save the money. It loads non-4K games slightly faster and seems to create a smoother gameplay. I also like the reduced console size. Packaging was good, protected the unit well, and has a pleasant appearance. Several reviews indicate a variety of problems with the new console. I have not had any issues with mine (knock one wood). I also never had any issues with my Xbox One console. I was looking at also purchasing a PS4 Pro (because I like some of their exclusive games) but there seems to be many problems with that console according to their “verified purchase” reviews. Also Sony’s tech support appears to be non-existent according to many of their reviewers. Bottom line, no matter what tech product you get, some are going to have problems. My Xbox 1X works great so far and I am very pleased. Also, I paid $499 for my unit. Not sure I’d pay $620 for any console!

Update: I’ve upgraded to a 55” 4K Sony X930E and am completely blown away. Gears of War 4, and Rise of Tomb Raider running native 4K and HDR are jaw dropping showcases of why this Xbox exists. The Xbox enhanced games are flowing in everyday it seems, such as Destiny 2 receiving its update a couple days ago for me. I have never seen games look or perform better than now and would encourage anybody to go ahead and buy the X1X, 4K TV yet or not! Original: The X1X is amazingly fast, snappy, quiet, sleek, and smooth. I was hesitant at first given I won’t have a 4K TV for another year or so but the differences were noticeable immediately. I found myself revisiting old games I recalled having slight hiccups/choppiness in cutscenes or panning around large environments like Assassins Creed Unity, TC’s Ghost Recon, Warframe and they ran SO SMOOTH. I didn’t realize how accepting of choppy frame rates I was. These really felt like new games. Then I tried an actual fully featured enhanced game like Gears of War 4 where “performance mode” takes the FPS from 30 to 60, and wow...just wow. I can’t wait to go back and revisit hits like Rise of the Tomb Raider and FFXV before I even get my 4K TV, and even then I might go back a 3rd time through. I’m stoked for this new console, and for anybody on the fence about getting one without a 4K TV, don’t worry because it’s way worth it even in 1080p.

Just received my Xbox One X Scorpio Edition at 8 am Amazon was fast.. The reason for 5 stars on the console is I currently own a Xbox one S and let me tell you I was playing call of duty WW2 and not only did this console make WW2 looks 10x better graphically but it also loaded into games 10 seconds faster all the muddy character models WERE gone once I played on the X !!! Another thing to note is installing was super fast it would take like a few hours to install a game on Xbox one S but on the X I was able to reinstall WW2 in about 45 minutes .. So far super impressed

Ok so I originally had the X pre-ordered somewhere else when I decided to cancel since it wasn't the Scorpio I wanted. I went on Amazon the night before launch and surprisingly it was available for pre-order so I had to jump on it being the Xbox fanatic I am. I ordered it Monday night around 8ish and Thursday at 12:15 it was at my house. Now I am going from a Day One edition to the X on a Samsung 1080p 3D LED. Playing Battlefield 1 which does not have a patch to enhance it for the X was like playing a whole new game. It loaded lightening fast, the gameplay was so much smoother and more fluid, the draw distance was unbelievable, and the overall graphics were so much sharper. I played 4 hours straight and each time I loaded the maps long before my friend on the original One. The console got warmer than my Day One edition but not enough to be worried. GTA 5 is so amazing. It loads so much faster and has so much more detail and most importantly when you're moving at a high speed there is no more objects spawning as you're driving past. Everything is just there which is nice. I was able to notice much more detail in vehicles, characters, environments. Halo 5 also is a much nicer game. That has an enhanced update. The game just loads faster, has more detail, and just feels much better. Now that I own the X the Day One console just felt a little on the clunky side. I think it was just under powered from the start. I am so happy there is no more ESRAM as that created a bottleneck. Do yourselves a favor and install the games you play the most to your internal drive as it is much faster than loading from an external one.

Ok, so I never knew Microsoft to be a premium hardware company and more importantly had never been sold on the Xbox game console until now. Most of my electronics have been Sony brand. I waited for Sony to come out with native 4k PlayStation console but instead they chose the upscaling route. Bad calculation in my opinion. Left with fewer choices I decided to check out the Xbox one X and have been amazed at how solid albeit well Crafted machine it's. Installation was a walk in the park. performance has been exceptional. Game and movie discs load quickly and play without a hitch. Runs continuously without overheating and did I mention very quiet. It updates itself on the fly. I waited to review this unit thinking it might start acting up like windows pc. It aren't windows after all. Just buy it.
