Man, I'd give this 10 stars if I could. I'm a chauffeur, so I use this all day everyday, and once I learned how to set it up for my particular needs, it's works flawlessly for the last year. The sound is crystal clear and the battery lasts a looooong time. I bought the accessory case that contains another lithium battery, and I HIGHLY recommend that unit as well. The headset get's charged each night simply by placing it in the case, and the case get's charged once every week or two. An excellent setup. The one issue I had at first was that the unit kept disconnecting from my phone, until I re read the directions and saw that it comes pre configured to disconnect when you take it off your ear, and and somehow, even though I wasn't taking it off my ear, it still sensed that movement, so I went into the mobile app and turned that feature off, and have had zero disconnects sense then. I think it had to do with the fact that my job involves a LOT of movement, like loading luggage etc, which it was misinterpreting, but now it's works perfectly. This is definitely the best headset I've had, and I'm always recommending it to my friends and coworkers.

I had an older Plantronics headset that I used and loved, until it fell off my ear and broke. Since I wear glasses, it's more difficult to keep this in my ear. After that, I bought a differently-designed Motorola headset at Best Buy, hoping it would stay in my ear better. It did, but people couldn't hear me on it, even though the headset cost > $100. I finally gave up on it and bought another Plantronics. The quality is great--people can always hear me fine. The only problem is that the feature where you are supposed to be able to say "answer" to answer a call doesn't seem to work for me. Even if I scream "answer" it doesn't answer the call.

I'm a truck driver in the oilfields. Out here I'm exposed to a lot of noise whether in the truck or from the equipment on the jobsite. I use to have the jabra storm and my wife would always complain she can't hear me because of all the background noise. With this planitronics 5200 she says it sounds like I'm in a quiet office! As if I have a desk job! This headset goes great with the planitronics hub app which allows you to update firmware, customize the headset settings and monitor battery life. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to spend the money. Now that I have it, I don't think I can live without it. Super comfortable and outstanding noise canceling mics.

When it comes time to replace a bluetooth headset I spend some time researching what I'll buy next and when I washed my 3rd Plantronics voyager legend it was time to get a new headset. Now mind you my last 4 headsets have all been the Plantronics voyager legend as they've been the top of the game for multiple years. the audio is crystal clear, the mic was a great pickup, I could drive in a convertible with the top down and the boss would think I was sitting in my office, no joke. So if something was going to beat the legend it had to be pretty awesome. The 5200 has 4 mics (vs the legend's 3) for better audio catching and filtering, the speaker is clear and crisp, and I like the button design over the toggle for volume personally. The biggest change I'm excited about is if you hold down the button on the boom for about a second and a half you can have the headset connect to the google now agent on your phone (I didn't test S-voice or siri). This is the feature which made the most sense to me, though I wasn't going to sacrifice the operation of the other features just to get this. My only complaint is, there's yet another proprietary new connection for charging the headset BUT for some reason plantronics also included a microUSB you can charge the headset from which is a very nice addition. My wish list would be a more water resistant/water proof version of this, I'd gladly pay more for it, but maybe I should learn to check my pockets before doing the laundry. Overall I loved my Plantronics Voyager legend and didn't think I'd ever find anything better but the 5200 is my new favorite and I'd imagine it will be for many years to come.

I've used the original Voyage headset for the past 2 years and was very happy until I lost it somewhere along the way. Debated on just replacing or upgrading to the 5200. Really glad I made the decision to upgrade. The Voyager 5200 is noticeably better than the original. Both do an excellent job screening out noise. I drive a Jeep Wrangler and the tested 5 or 6 Bluetooth headsets before the Voyager. It's the only unit I found that lets my voice be heard clearly when driving the Jeep, even with the top down. The Voyager 5200 may be slightly better in noise screening that the original Voyager but it's not enough to really say but no question - both are excellent. The 5200 fit has been improved and it's more balanced around the ear. The pivot hinge on the earpiece has been dramatically improved and you can rotate the earpiece inward or side to side easily on this one where the original product felt like it would wear out over time. Volume controls on the top of the earpiece are now raised buttons which are easier to find. The firmware on the 5200 also seems to have greatly improved. Where my original Voyager would drop the Bluetooth connection with the phone on a regular basis this has not been the case with the 5200. It's been heavily used for about a month now and have not lost the Bluetooth connection once. For my needs this is the best Bluetooth headset on the market. The Voyager 5200 noise cancelling ability is unsurpassed and it brings some worthy improvements over the first generation Voyager.

I've used the predecessor to this head set, the Voyager Legend, for several years and really like it. The battery is starting to wear down so I'm replacing it with the 5200. The 5200 is very similar and the sound seems even better and I've had no complaints about the way I sound. I find it comfortable enough to wear all day and because of the behind the ear style, it stays on my head. It gives me about 5 hours of talk time before needing a recharge. The 5200 does away with the main fault of the Legend, you don't need a special adapter for charging - it has a standard micro-B USB port. Like many users I originally had reliability issues with the Legend. I found out the body sensors were the issue. So I installed the interface program on my PC and turned all that fancy stuff off - end of problems! I've done the same thing with the 5200 and find it works great. Unless there's some reason you need the sensor features - turn that stuff off and you'll have a great, high sound quality headset that you can wear all day.

This is the first headset I've purchased that had any actual volume - and I am not hard of hearing. Most provide a modest volume level (up and down) of the unit to which they are "linked." For most (even costly headsets) I can use this in almost any environment: 1. Outdoor- moderate noise and background sounds, street traffic - I can hear the caller distinctly. 2. Crowds - clear audio, no complaints on background noise from the other party. 3. Comfort - Excellent - works well , stays on. 4. Ease of operation - watched a video or two and never looked back. 5. Paring - Easily picked up by device. 6. BATTERY LIFE - jury is still out, but it SEEMS to have a fairly long life and announces the battery level. 7. Versatility - I don't know if you can pare more than one unit - yet, perhaps the manuf. can weigh-in. I own several costly Plantronics desk "units" and, instead of trying a half-dozen or more less costly units, I should have just purchased this unit in the first place. It would have been cheaper and far less frustrating in the long run. Personal Phone Usage - all day / constant, both desk and cell phone. I'm busy, the unit "has to work." Finally, this one does. I recently added the "charging case." We'll see how well that works out on several cross-country flights in the next few days.

PLEASE READ.....I purchased thru Amazon but seller was R&D Corp. It works great except that two functions (Voice Activated Answer/Ignore and Mute Reminders) did not work. When I contacted customer support at Plantronics, they said R&D Corp is not an authorized seller and is based out of a country that has different regulations that can prohibit some of the features and limit the functionality of the headset. Because of these regulations, the two features that I mentioned were turned off and there is nothing Plantronics can do about it. I am returning this product and will ONLY buy from an authorized dealer. I would suggest the same if you want to have the full functionality listed for this device. Otherwise device works great. Sound is great but I'm very disappointed that I did not get the full functionality as listed.

RE: Plantronics Voyager 5200...February 17, 2018 Superior device, very, very comfortable and when fully charged it has 7 hours and 15 minutes of available time (plug into the Plantronics Hub Application to see this). When fully charged and placed in your ear it will indicate "high" level of time remaining. After the first hour is used, it then will indicate time remaining just like the original Legend does. I tested this time against real time and found it to be accurate. I listened to music nearly 8 hours. I turned it off for several minutes at a time so that I could compare the sound quality to my original Legend. My conclusion: By far the new 5200 has a fuller, richer sound over the original Legend, with a very comfortable dynamic frequency range (without enabling HD voice in the Plantronics Hub). The volume level available is as high as the original Legend, so I don't know why others complain about the shorter battery life, lower volume level and inept music sound quality. However, to be honest, while driving my very quiet big rig down the highway I have found that the inherent droning of road noise and engine noise of my rig is like white noise in that it tends to 'wash out' or 'cover over' my streamed music I am listening to, hence, I must increase the volume more. So, although the sound quality of the original Voyager Legend is not as 'rich' (to include phone calls) as this 5200, I prefer to use the original Legend while in my rig because of its' less rich sound and its' ability to overcome road noise etc., i.e. the frequency equalization in the original Legend emphasizes more of the mid to high frequencies and has more separation across the entire frequency range. NOTE TO PLANTRONICS: Perhaps incorporate into your Plantronics Hub Application several different predefined equalized settings to download to the 5200 or, better still, allow for user defined equalization frequency curves to be downloaded onto the 5200. On the other hand, if you are in a nice, quiet car or perhaps work in and office and want a very pleasing 'Bose' like sound then this 5200 would probably be a better choice. As I mentioned, I have both units - this 5200 and the original Legend - and have found that overall I am most happy keeping the 5200 at home in my office or in my shop and also use it outside doing yard work etc. As you can see,I am primarily commenting on the music quality and voice quality I hear at my end in this review - not what is or is not transmitted over the phone. Many other users have spoken highly of this 5200 units ability to eliminate noise so the person you are talking to can hear only you speaking and not background noises. In this regard I will only say that they are spot on - I can hardly add anything new to the many positive comments on this issue except to say that the transmitted voice quality is slightly better than the original Legend. With four microphones in the 5200 compared to the three in the Legend it does make a slight difference and improvement. But realize, the original Legend is already a superior voice transmitting device and does an excellent job of eliminating and not transmitting noises. It has and continues to be a 'Flagship' device for Plantronics and current customer reviews will support this statement. Most would argue that there is a slight improvement in the 5200 overall but the price difference for the 5200 being nearly two times the cost of the Legend (here on Amazon) prohibits purchasing the 5200. My argument for the 5200 stems from my desire for richer music sounds so I am willing to pay the extra cost. Which would I buy again? Acutally, the answer is both. It would depend on where I am using it - in my rig or at home around the house.

Very nice headset, I bought this to replace my older Plantronics headset, I'm a truck driver and love Plantronics headset, this one is my favorite, it's lighter and waterproof, pairs easily and I bought the charger case which allows you to charge the headset two different ways, love that feature, much better than the older model. Also the headset has a micro USB port on the bottom to charge, in case you don't want to buy the case, just remove rubber cover to charge usb
