This leather repair patch kit has worked well for me (this is the 2nd time I've used it). It's a good size (any larger would be hard to work with). The first time, last year, I simply cut it in half and applied these self adhesive pieces to worn/torn spots in the seat of my leather desk chair. The pieces were easy to apply and matched the chair color (dark brown) well enough. Most important of all, they have held up to heavy daily traffic (my rear end) for over six months - no scuffing, sagging, shifting, or distortion of any kind (look the same as the day I applied them). Recently I ordered another patch, this time for the arm rests of the same chair. But I think I'll apply this patch to another item of leather furniture that needs some help, and order yet two more patches for those arm rests. Each arm will need its own patch because I intend to trim it to look like those protector cloths you see sometimes on an arm rest or the elbow of a jacket. The chair is dark brown, but this time I think I will order light brown or tan to accentuate the effect of an arm rest protector. So, obviously, I very happy with "MastaPlasta" (really corny reference to the 3rd of Mel Gibson's road warrior movies) and recommend it as delivered timely, fair price, easy to trim and apply, thick and durable.

The tear in our leather couch cushion is right under the most used area where everyone sits. So there's constant up and down and leg sliding over that area. It's been over a month (I think) and it looks like I just put it on. Not even a hint of any of the edges are coming up. The adhesive is strong so make sure you dry-fit it before you ultimately stick it on. Since my patch was going on a high traffic area of the couch, I cut the patch to extend about 2 inches around all sides of the tear. I wanted it to have a good place to adhere all around since it was going to have a lot of rubbing from people against it. For our application it's a temporary fix. The color choice was right, but our leather is very old and weathered looking from years of use. So in that sense the patch is noticable. But we wanted to slow down the rate that the tear was growing (it was about 3") until we could find time/money to have the cushions reupholstered. This product did the trick for us. We were most concerned about how strong the adhesive would be in a high traffic area. We couldn't be happier.

Great product with excellent finish and adhesive. STRONG adhesive. Which is good, but be prepared for it when installing. I used this to repair my 2005 Honda Accord leather driver's seat, which was down to the foam cushion on the left bolster. Since more than enough of the surface leather material was generously supplied by Masta, I had more than enough to do a two layered application, which I recommend for people who are using this product for a seat repair. Start by cutting paper templates to test fit the area (I used the actual package cardstock for my templates). Doing this will ensure you get the right contour and fit. I made a smaller patch first, to insert underneath the layer of the original leather, with the sticky side facing out. This allowed for a double-bond adhesive grip and improved the thickness in the area that had been worn down. Slide it into place, and THEN peal the adhesive backing off while holding it in position. This will prevent slippage while installing. I then applied the larger patch to the surface with enough coverage to adhere to the existing leather and grip the secondary smaller patch underneath. In this case, peal the adhesive backer off first, apply the patch at the stitch line of the outside of the bolster and gradually press into place. The material patch is flat, but pliant, so if your seat has compound curves, you will end up with slack or a crease in your last area rubbed down. You can scissor-cut an inch or so, removing a thin V shape in the area and then the seam will line up without puckering the material. Be sure to tuck the seam edge into the bolster crevice and do your best to follow the original stitch line contours - this will hide the patch more smoothly with the seams hidden in the seat design. I had to return my first order due to improper color match, so double check your material color carefully (return shipping cost me $8.00). I would use this product again for sure. Very effective, inexpensive, and easy to use.

Had some rips in my leather coach from the dogs jumping on the tops of them. Looked and tried a few different products before trying this. Have to say it's the best out there. Wish it came in larger sizes but bought 2 of the 8"x 11" and it worked awesome. Saved me a ton of money that I didn't have to buy new coach. Worth every penny.

I am the victim of 2 exceptionally crappy leatherlike sofa's that keep cracking and peeling. MastaPlasta is the best thing I have tried so far. It is not totally perfect- but in many ways it is working better than the original sofa material. It sticks well and wears well. I use the Dark Brown, which is a nice, authentically leather looking espresso/cigar color. After applying a LOT of it , occasionally a piece has peeled up at the edges a bit, but at least some of the time it is because the stupid sofa fabric around it is cracking more (Gah!), sometimes just a really tricky crease area between cushions. But mostly, it applies easily, sticks well, protects it, improves the look of it, till I replace this stupid thing. I will buy again.

This product is my "car-saver." I feared the imminent degradation and rips in my leather car seat could ruin the value of an otherwise great 1999 Toyota. But this Masta Plasta saved the seat and, in a way, my willingness to hold onto my car. It feels and looks like leather, it sticks immediately, and cuts cleanly. Although not part of the instructions, I suggest that you take a piece of paper and draw a template to cut the MastaPlasta into the exact shape needed, That's what I did, so the piece of MastaPlasta fits perfectly. What a relief!!

Bigger than I thought it would be. It looks better in person than pictures... Sorry I didn't take good before pictures. I bought one patch for one of my seat that had a lot of shredding. There was a lot left over so I used it for the other side too. (I'll probably buy another full patch for the other side eventually) Its not a professional repair, but it'll do. In the past I've considered having my seat professionally repaired but didn't want to spend the money... this makes me satisfied, for now at least. Side note, if you see a tiny tear in your leather seat, buy this now and fix it... it'll get worse so fast!

This is a good product: it looks and feels like leather, and has a strong adhesive backing. I used it for a repair in an inconspicuous place, and it was fine for that. Or, if you need a bit of "leather" on carpet or fabric, this should work well. Others seem to use it as a patch over existing leather, and in that use it will likely be obvious and visible: it is just about impossible to match existing leather perfectly. This is a good product, if you recognize its limitations.

The upholster guy said it would cost me $600 to fix the leather seats in my F250 Lariat. I put on these patches in the meantime to keep it from spreading and they look great. Extremely easy to install and much cheaper than $600!

We have had a leather couch in our living room for several years now. Our mid-sized dog spends a lot of time going between the floor and the top of the couch to look out our front window. Over time, this wore the stitching apart in several awkward places and caused a hole towards the top of the couch. Once the stuffing started poking out the top, I tried sewing it closed as best I could with heavy duty thread. That fix lasted a week or two before busting open again. This repair patch exceeded my expectations. The size of the patch afforded us plenty of extra material to work with in the future should this or something else happen to our couch or love seat. The color and texture are a good match. Was quite literally as easy as peeling and sticking. Has held firmly, looks better, and is far less obvious than thread. Very pleased and definitely recommend it!
