Awesome little snow blower
This is an awesome little snow blower. The first big snow storm of the year we got 6 inches of heavy snow and this snow blower went through it with out any issues. A couple of weeks later we got another storm with 10 inches of snow and the snow blower had no issues throwing the snow. For a snow blower this size it has plenty of power.

Finally got to use this snowblower, got a foot ...
Finally got to use this snowblower, got a foot of fairly heavy snow and the machine did a decent job of clearing it, it didn't throw the snow really far due to it being kind of wet, but far enough to clear the driveway. Paid for itself in one day

Great Machine
This machine is excellent removing the snow here in Michigan. I have yet to use the electric starter since it always starts on the first pull. My only future concern is replacing the spark plug since it will require removing the gas tank to get to it. Update 1/18/19: Well I did not need to remove the gas tank to replace the spark plug. I did remove the muffler cage though, which made it easy to replace the spark plug. All in all, I am still happy with this machine. Coming from a two stroke snow blower to a four stroke is great. Performance is the same and I do not smell like oil when I am done using the machine.

WOW! The power of a commercial 2 stage for 60+% lesd
Wow! Most definitely e wasn't expecting the power of this to be on par with a 2 stage commercial. But it is. Wet heavy snow? Wouldn't have guessed. Lighter show? Hopefully the neighbor's won't mind it all. Pro Tip* use some wd-40 to spray the shoot, thrower blade and thrower blade housing. Enjpuy and marvel as it throws wet heavy snow literally 30' or more. Or watch and lookout for upset neighbors if you decide to bury their home with normal to patially heavy snow and more importantly Proplyene Glycol works as well in a pinch but must be applied more often. 5 stars hidden gem of a snow blower. Still a few years after purchase it throws like the day I bought her and she starts with 2 pumps on the primer and with ease. You will be happy with it. Take it from a northern Michigan born and bred. Florida to me was Detroit in Feb. Lol

Great performer
Hey this thing really throws snow. Seriously. In the last few years I’ve purchased two Toro Powercurves and this baby. The Toros are for me and my mom, and the BS is for my daughters home. Bottom line, send the Toros packing! This machine throws much further and doesn’t bog down at all, even with the slushy stuff. Whereas I might get a 15 foot throw with the Toro, the BS gives me 20 feet on the same snow, same conditions. Yes, what I’m trying to say is that it throws 33% further than the Toro Powercurve. Here’s my caveat—this is my first year with BS so I don’t know if it will have the quality build of a Toro, but, initial reactions are positive all the way around. UPDATE: End of January and we just had a 10-12" snowfall. This thing powered through it easily. I will amend that thick, thick slush will bog it down, but, it has to be really thick slush. It still outthrows my Toro's but, will want to wait 5 or 6 years to determine reliability vs Toro.

we have had some more snow (Minnesota) and I can honestly say that this blower works better than any previous owned snow blower
The first time I used this, I was sure it would not work well because the snow was very heavy and slushy. All of my other single stage snowblowers had always bogged down or the snow chute would plug with this type of snow. Well, I was wrong. The blower handled the slush and never got plugged. Plenty of power and plenty of snow throw range. (Did I mention I live in Minnesota?) Since, we have had some more snow (Minnesota) and I can honestly say that this blower works better than any previous owned snow blower. It is a single stage but performs like a two stage. So far it starts with a single pull too.

Easy to assemble and start
I bought this unit after much trouble with my Ariens Stage II snowblower. The reviews were wonderful. As a female, I was able to quickly put the engine together in about 30 minutes. The biggest obstacle is to make sure you have both metric and US customary socket sets. After fueling with gas and oil, the machine started on the second pull. Although I purchased the electric start, I am not sure I will even need it. I love everything about this product.

Works Great - Buy it!
I just bought this snow thrower, the basic (737) model w/o electric start nor the shredding ice auger. In 25 years I've never needed an e-start but the metal auger would have been nice but it's only sold with the e-start option which adds ~$200. To be fair, it's April here in Colorado and 70 degrees, so I can't yet review it's capability for throwing snow, but I can tell you everything else. I download the Owners Manual from the B&S website prior to purchase, but it didn't include set-up instructions, which I found in the delivered box. It took me about 25 minutes to cut away the packaging and lay-out all the parts, plus another 20 minutes to complete the set-up. The set-up manual is long on cartoons and short on specific text instructions. Overall it fairly intuitive, I only screwed it up twice, but leaves a few questions unanswered before testing the engine. Specifically, "How much oil do I add?", "What's the capacity of the fuel tank?, and, "What type of oil and fuel should I use"?. If you migrate between the set-up manual, and the owner's manual, you finally get these questions answered. Oil is 20oz with 5-30 recommended; fuel capacity is 3.0-3.2 quarts rated at 85-87 regular. Having completed all the above I was ready to run a start-up test on the engine, but the first instruction was to turn the key to ON. No where in any manual did it tell me where to insert the key - another 10-15 minute search! It's located below and forward of the choke (red) position switch. The unit is made in China and I suspect the manuals are English conversions? The engine ran perfectly and started with one pull. I repeated this over 5 days with no priming, and I remain impressed! This is my 3rd snow thrower in 25 years and is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Can't wait to see how it performs in the snow! UPDATE: It's now mid-December and I've used this thrower 4 times operating flawlessly! Even at freezing temps it starts with one pull if I remember to set the choke. It's serious fun to watch how far it throws the snow, like from the sidewalk to the middle of the street. It's much quieter than the others I've owned, allowing an earlier start without waking the neighbors. I recommend adding an ounce of sea-bil to a 2-gallon gas can so you don't have to remember when refilling the gas tank. No snow thrower is perfect, although this one is close. I have only two issues. Somewhere in the owners manual it says the engine must be upgraded for use above 5,000 feet. Being at 6,200 feet I dropped off the unit at the engine shop. The upgrade consists of re-jetting the carburetor but the jet has to be ordered from Briggs & Stratton. After 4 weeks of waiting, B&S told us that this upgrade is only required for 3-4% of the country and they haven't made any yet? Glad I started this last May! Not to bash B&S, I'd recommend they design a longer handle for rotating the shoot direction. I'm 5'9" and to reach it I have to step to one side of the thrower. Not a big deal unless you slip on the snow/ice with each rotation. They do sell this unit with a crank at extra cost for this purpose, located behind the thrower. Would I buy it again, now that I've used it a few time ... Absolutely! Spending extra bucks for the electric start is a waste of money. I can't comment on the metal ice scraper addition to the auger, other than to say it's not needed unless you wait to long after it snows?

Perfect for our paved drive and sidewalk. Thanks
Great product. Arrived on time. The unit is 100 lbs so the box is cumbersome. Easy to unpack and setup. Instructions were clear for me to use. Had it all together and running in 45 minutes. Got the electric start and pleased I did. Both electric and hand pull started the first revelution. Note to manufacture. 1. Please place the extra bolts and screws on handle with rest of the parts. The unit is heavy enough the bottom was scrape open but the parts did not fall out. 2. The front leading edge of the snow thrower is protected by cardboard only. The edge was slightly damaged but did not hurt the unit operations. Please provide a covering for this edge as you do for the sides. I would buy this unit again and again.

Took 15 minutes to put together and was totally easy..
I am so impressed with this Briggs Snow Blower... Took 15 minutes to put together and was totally easy... The electric start is amazing and it lit instantly with the first push of the starter button... It arrived right before we got 6" of snow... On my first use I cleared the entire driveways, entry walkways and sidewalks for 7 of my close neighbors... Several of them came out and told me how impressed they were with how fast and how far the snow blew out as I cleared their drives... two asked for me to send them the link from where I purchased mine so it impressed me too as to all the compliments this blower received on it's first use yesterday right out of the box... Also I might note that the 7 neighbors I cleared as well as my own drive, walk and entry took 2 full hours and it used the full 3 quart tank of gas and ran out of fuel as I was parking it back inside my garage... I was especially impressed with only having used 3 quarts... For the price this baby was the best I researched and my wife and I are very happy with this purchase...
