I use this to scan books into editable documents. I love it. I have had no issues with it at all. It has been a lifesaver as far as research goes. I can make an editable document from the scan and then translate the document into english so I can read it. Huge time saver!

I have scanned around 900 old pictures using both the wand and scanner and have had no issues using it. You do have a slight learning curve so its best to review the instructions. It has met all of my expectations.

I wanted to get this scanner so that I could scan my sketchbook drawings and include this scanner as a normal part of my process. I was skeptical at first. Some reviews say it is a poor scanner but that hasn't been my experience. The high resolution scanning impressed me. It would have been cool if the scanner could go as high as 2400 DPI but that would be asking a lot from a portable, affordable machine. It does a very good job of picking up fine details in the line work of my drawings. It takes a little while to get the technique down but not too long. You just have to move the scanner slowly. Even if your hand is just a little shaky the scanner still produces a faithful image. The wand is light and easy to handle. I'm glad they also sell a case because scanners are delicate instruments! Buy the hard case! It's also nice that you can immediately create a high-resolution PDF instead of having to convert a jpeg. Usually it is best to use PDF or TIFF files when you are trying to print high resolution images. Good job Vupoint!

This product is very easy to use! I have had to other portable scanners, I ended up giving them away due to the fact they were not easy to use. I Certainly would recommend the Vupoint ST470. The only thing I would really wish is that the docking station also came with hard case perhaps with enough room to hold the wand also.

I have spent eons using a flatbed scanner for my personal family pictures. Of course I did take the time for color adjustments and corrections. Recently I acquired my in-laws photo albums when my mother-in-law passed. I felt an obligation to copy them for the family. However, I did need a faster way to do that without the necessity pay exactly the level of detail as with my own. I found this scanner on Amazon and thought I would give it a try. 1500 photos later, I am amazed at the speed, quality and reliability of this product. Pros: Portability, speed, quality, price, Cons: Output is only jpeg and pdf. (not really a problem) I'm attaching an example of one of the scans.

We have so many pictures that our kids want copies of. This scanner works quickly and has excellent picture quality! I am able to take it with me when I get to visit extended family and get copies of pictures I wouldn't be able to get very easily. The next best part is that having them in electronic format makes them SO easy to share! Everyone is amazed how quickly it does such a good job. My only warning to other users is to be sure to keep all surfaces clean. One dust speck will make a large line through your image. If you aren't connected to a computer, be sure to enlarge and check every few of your images on the scanner. I had to rescann a few. I thought I was being very careful but some dust snuck in there anyway. Be sure to check!

Been using this a few days to scan old photos from an estate. It is wonderful. This will save me literally thousands of hours versus a flatbed scanner. And now I can scan all my documents to get organized. It's a great purchase.

Very simple. Easy to use. Quick scanning. Great for our business for receipts. Had originally purchased a $330 NEAT scanner, thinking it would be better. It was way more complicated and couldn't even use it unless I signed up for cloud service. Because without paying for that, you received no technical support. That was dumb because I needed help with installing the driver software (kept giving a corrupt file error message). I decided I didnt need any more reasons to ditch that product. Thanks Sams for letting me return it! Hassle free.

I bought this to scan 25 years worth of photos in boxes, as well as to have backups of scrapbooks and family recipes. I've only used it in the auto feed dock so far, but I'm really impressed with the quality and speed of the scans. I was able to scan 314 photos in just over an hour, including a few panorama prints.

We have tons of pictures taken ove 60 years. I don’t have any children to pass mine on to and I know my husbands kids won’t want bulky photo albums so I began slowly scanning pictures. I have to say for the price this works really well. One thing to note is you need to be diligent in cleaning the scanning glass frequently if you live in an arid climate like Arizona. I found that I needed to wipe the glass about every 15 or so pictures otherwise the scan would produce a streak due to dust clinging to the glass, a product of static electricity. I would recommend this over some cheaper scanners available online.
