This is a nice little grill. The fact that they can ship this to your front door in such a small box is amazing. Even though it is probably made in China this grill is a fine example of superior American engineering. People who think they are going to open a box and start grilling are fools. A grill of any kind is a complex device and if you are going to build one it is going to take some time. This one took me about 1 hr and 50 min to assemble. That includes a couple mistakes on my part. The assembly is tedious but everything is there and fits together well. The final product is quite sturdy and robust. I have a nice trick for the first step - see my picture. Tape the leg tubes in place with some painters tape. This will keep everything in place when assembling the stand. Remove the tape once the screws are in place. This grill is a great value if you are handy with tools. I think I paid around $110 with the side burner. If you have trouble building things than you should stay away.

I bought the Char-Broil Classic 280 2-Burner Gas Grill for my husband as an early Father's Day present. I am so glad I did. He really loves it. So far he's grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and pork steaks that all turned out amazing. It took him about an hour to put it together. The grate is really easy to clean after use which really made him happy. He uses the different burners to cook different foods on each side and turn one off when necessary. I would highly recommend this grill.

Awesome product. Many reviews were saying it was hard to put together. Not the case. Have patience and stay organized and it's very straight forward. Screws come in a package that makes it easy to stay organized (see photo). Grill itself is perfect size for a simple backyard BBQ. Great grill at a great price. Worth the purchase.

The lower lid (no second level grate) makes grilling large cuts of meat much more concise. I used to have one decades ago, but it finally couldn't be repaired anymore, and nothing was available to replace it, but now I have this "classic", and it works like the old one.

I know there is a lot of people talking about how hard this is to assemble, My 11 year old daughter did this all by herself in a little under 2 hours and that was even with some breaks. The bit I did see there was nothing abnormal on the assembly that wouldn't be expected. So far I have been very happy with the way it cooks, it has a pretty even heat pattern. The slats in the grill are a little bit farther apart then a standard grill so you have to be careful squashing down on the burgers until they are a little cooked. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Not too big but just the right size for my needs, gets good and hot. I like the way the burners are set up 2 rows from front to back. Putting it together was fun by the time I finished I needed a drink. The way the stand is assembled is tricky becauae its not secure until the last bolt is in place kind of like a Japanese Kakuro puzzle.

I've been in aerospace manufacturing for 35 yrs. When I first saw the assembly instructions I was like WTF. Then I took a few to digest them and thought back to building model airplanes, cars and ships, etc. which used the same mindset the assembly instructions apply. Then, piece of cake. All the hardware is clearly identified by letters, which perfectly match up to the "stick figure" schematic diagrams. It does take an hour or two depending on life distractions to assemble but all holes and threads matched up almost perfectly, which totally surprised me. I feel my unit parts were quality manufactured as fit and function were virtually perfect. Just did my break-in burn and can't wait to start "grillin"

It's a $100 grill. Can't expect much. Very thin firebox won't last long. BUT OMG... the assembly was a nightmare. If you don't have a helper to hold stuff while you assemble the base, think twice. Once you get the base, it's fairly smooth sailing. It took me a good four hours to assemble. The instructions have NO WORDS just drawings. I ended up with four extra screws.

This is a great deal and it works perfectly. My 12 year old put it together this morning and we just had a veggie burger, turkey burger, and beef burger (everyone has to have their own thing of course) for lunch. No problems and tastes great!

Well designed, functions well, assembly diagrams are clear and detailed. I’m fairly mechanically adept so it took me less than 90 minutes to assemble using a philips head screwdriver and a pair of pliers. The only issue that held me up for a few minutes was inserting one screw and nut in the heat shield. I found that by tipping the grill over on its side I could reach the screw and nut without difficulty. My advice to people is pay attention to the diagrams. They are very detailed. It helps if you lay out the part you are working on so it looks like what you are looking at in the diagram. If the diagram shows a stamped letter on a part facing inward, that’s for a reason, put the stamped letter facing inward. Pay attention to detail. On the inside of the front cover page there is a table of contents, it lists the pages for assembly and for the parts diagram and parts list, if you don’t know what a particular part is, look it up. It also has sections for troubleshooting, cleaning and maintenance of the grill.
