Works for me, but I want to build a wooden frame to hold them above the page for me
I lost one of my retinas due to lattice degeneration. I can see a little bit out of that eye, but not much. However, when I try to read (and this is after cataract surgery) my total vision is affected by the bad eye. Everything is both blurry and clear, if that makes sense, and I have to focus on the clear layer of vision in order to read. Well, it's an effort, and an activity I used to love has become purely a chore for me. I've tried various magnifying glasses--lighted ones, small ones, large ones--but none of them were really satisfactory. I also paid for expensive reading glasses made by my eye doctor, but that was a waste of money also. My initial reaction to this product, however, is to be more hopeful than I've been since my retina detached. It comes with two large (something like 8-1/2 x 11) sheets that work quite well, although it takes one hand to hold the sheet a few inches from the page, and it tends to curl and distort. I'm thinking that when the weather warms, and I can work in my garage workshop, I can try to build some sort of frame for the sheet to hold my book and the magnifying sheet ridgedly above the open-book's pages. But until then, the smaller sized one (about 6" x 3") works better than anything I've tried before for reading. In summary, I'm loving my books again, and it's been a long summer without rain as far as reading goes. These magnifying sheets are awfully cheap, so if you have any curiosity about them, and you think there's the least possibility they might help you, I heartily recommend you purchase them and give them a try. In the Spring, if I'm able to construct something for holding these sheets while freeing my hands for a coffee cup and thumbing my way through a reference book as I read, I'll take pictures of what works and post them here, so you can build something similar for yourself.

🌞 They make great solar concentrators! 🌞
Unlike many other purchasers, I purchased this set NOT to magnify things for improved visibility but for its solar concentration capabilities. Large fresnel lenses (like the 2 included with this kit) are very effective tools for concentrating solar energy. This makes them a great fit for activities like quickly starting a fire or directly heating food. Plus, they're extremely compact and lightweight, which makes them perfect to use during activities such as camping or hiking. I have tested these lenses for the purposes of starting fires with kindling, and they work great! In my tests, the largest lens can cause kindling to start burning in under 3 seconds, and the smallest lens can do the same in under 10 seconds. (And that is without even taking the lenses out of their protective sleeves. I am very satisfied with the quality of these lenses, and I will be adding a set to my emergency kit for such purposes as I've described. The obvious drawback of using fresnel lenses as solar concentrators is that they're useless when the sun is not available, so they're not necessarily a replacement for other tools that may also be used to generate heat or start fires and which aren't dependent upon the sun. But when solar energy is available, they can help accomplish the job very quickly and with little effort.

Of great benefit to the visually-challenged from past eye surgeries and the distortions which remain
In June 2009, the very month after we’d taken down the remnants of my solo art exhibition in Charlotte, I found myself going blind from a macular hole in my right eye. The next year, while teaching students landscape drawing on the university quad, I had one occur in my left eye. Both required cataract removals and surgeries.. Unfortunately, scars were left behind in both eyes, distorting my vision to such extent that I have not seen a straight line since, nor do I expect to. Printed text has its letters floating in different positions on each line, and distinguishing certain numbers from others can be virtually impossible. Reading has remained a problem, especially small type on boxes and bottles. I was so frustrated last week from trying to read the fine print on a bottle of heartburn nedicine, however, that I knew the time was long past for me to find different types of magnifying devices to help both my husband and me to live easier lives as we continue to age. I had no idea, though, I could find anything like these Premium Magnifier Sets here and am so very happy that I did. They arrived yesterday, and I immediately set out to test them. The midsized magnifier, usable also as a ruler — which will certainly come in very handy for me, was terrific for reading the fine print on jars and bottles because of its length and flexibility. I was able to wind it around the same bottle of heartburn medication and read its print with ease. The full-page magnifying sheet was perfect for me while trying to read parts of the newspaper which are flimsy to begin with. The adaptability of the large magnifying sheet to an irregularly shaped (often-shifting-in-the-air) oversized but with small font size could not have made it easier for me to read the columns. Enlarging the type when you have scars in your eyes which are distorting text lessens the distortions by allowing more space between letters and lines. I will, of course, put the credit-card sized one into my billfold so that, in restaurants, I’ll no longer have to ask for help in deciphering what’s written in the smaller print as a description of the dish I have interest in.. As for whether or not to remove the outer plastic, I decided to keep mine on the magnifier sheets. In working with different mediums, I cannot depend on the fact that, at any given time, my hands, fingers, and nails are perfectly clean — and I don’t want to dirty-up my original magnifiers. I can read quite well through them with the plastic covers intact. I am delighted that two of each size of magnifying sheeting was included in the package because that allowed me to give the second set to my husband. As a university professor, heavy researcher, and writer, everything he touches remains relatively clean. His eyesight is quite good, but, as he reads articles and books for longer periods of time, it’s easier and better for him to lay the full-sheet magnifier directly onto the page of a book or manuscript. His preference was to remove the plastic. Each of us is different, but these magnifying sheets are so adaptable that I feel everyone should be able to adjust them to their own needs and be quite happy with the results. I am delighted that I found this Premium Magnifier Set here at Amazon. I feel much less frustrated by the near-disability visual level that I’ve had to deal with on my own or with drugstore-quality magnifying glasses for the last ten years. Thanks again, Amazon, for making life easier!

Great purchase
I bought this for my 89 yr Grandmother and the 3 sizes allows her to keep these all over her apt so she always has one handy. She uses them for ready the microwave settings, washing machine settings as Wells as books, magazines and keeps one in her hand bag. This is a very versatile set.

The uses of these lens in ENDLESS :)~
The older I get, the more I find a need for a magnifying lens. Not necessarily an age thing, but TRULY THINK about how many things around you are now printed in a font the size of the head of a pin. There's a LOT of it. The uses of these lens in ENDLESS. The large lens is great from some things on the internet (and yes you can magnify the page if you choose) ... then you have to "un~magnify" it back to whatever your norm is. This is INSTANT. I keep the large lens next to my computer(s). The two smaller lenses: The Reader lens (middle-sized lens) makes a GREAT book marker for any publication not to mention again ~ small font printed material. Good lens to have on your desk for any printed material i.e. things you receive in the post office mail etc. The wallet sized is just that ... the size of a basic credit card and very handy. So it doesn't get messed up in your purse or wallet, I suggest keeping it in the protective sleep that each lens is shipped in. Good quality and should last a long time. The ONLY CON I can think of is this: They are plastic and will get some abuse over time. Once damaged ... well, what can ya say? It happens. Keep the protective sleeves they come in and store them that way is my suggestion. I have had some of these for 30+ years. It was time to replace those with new ones. Take a little time and care and you will have these for a long time

I Can Read Again!!!
These are absolutely wonderful products! I have had vision trouble since 1970, and while there are some large print books, it's not a big#. With the full sheet I am able to read paperback books. Th wallet size works well with pill directions and the rectangular one is a big help with restaurant menus, while still being discreet. I have already put several of these on order for my parents. I only wish I had found these sooner!

I purchased these for my elderly mother who is losing her eyesight. She says the full page magnifyer works wonderfully! It is lightweight and much easier for her arthritic hands to hold than the standard magnifying glasses she has previously used. This product is a winner! Thank you!

The seller was very nice to send me an email even before I received ...
I had this in my wishlist for months. I should've got this sooner. The seller was very nice to send me an email even before I received it. They said they've been having some problems with the shipping and customers have been telling them their items didn't arrive in a good condition. They wanted me to know they will help me get it right in case mine comes damaged. I kept that email just in case, so I can reply to them right away if mine comes damaged. But mine arrived in perfect condition. The quality is better than I expected. I thought it would be thinner, somewhat wabbly flimsy plastic. But it's thin, not wobbly plastic. I thought the biggest one would be the regular letter size but it's slightly smaller. It's probably my fault for not reading all the product description. It still works perfectly as expected. only thing I don't like is the shadow. Although it is clear, it still creates shadow on pages I'm reading even when I'm directly under the light. The glare is expected, and it's not horrible.
