I love my FlexiSpot standing desk. I have back pain and I also suffered from sciatica pains on my right leg. I had a microdiscectomy surgery last year to resolve my sciatica. Prior to surgery, I couldn't sit down without my leg hurting and this has allowed me to continue to work without having to sit down. Pros: - The desk does not move forward when in standing position and therefore does not take as much space as a varidesk - Large working space (I personally wish it didn't have the tablet tray but it may be a great addition to some) - Large separate keyboard tray (which is very easy to install and the loose screw issue I saw on the reviews no longer exist on this newer version) - Super easy install - Comes up high enough for a person of my height (5'11 with shoes and a fatigue mat) Cons: - Keyboard tray barely fits a mousepad - I have 2 monitors, a monitor stand, laptop and other items which makes the riser a bit heavy to lift - I don't need the tablet holder, it makes it difficult for me to write on my desk Overall, highly recommended. This desk I think works best in an office since it can just be placed on top of a desk and works perfectly. For a person that stands and sits often and wants to write on the desk, I would recommend something that is electric and moves up and down automatically with configurable height settings.

First day and I was able to spend my whole day working on it standing. The 35" just barely fits two 27" monitors, but I also have the laptop on there, so I have everything I need and some room to write, too. I got the matt for free, which was a freat addition, because otherwise I probably would have skipped it, and it made a huge difference. If you're going to stand, you need it. I have it on top of carpet and it feels great (although it slips). I almost decided against this desk because of all the reviews of the keyboard attachment screws breaking the particle board. I went for it after reading the great customer support and figuring I could use different screws like someone else suggested. My desk came with a slide in metal/plastic matching male and female parts about 1" wide, 1/2" tall and 3" deep that latches seemlessly under the top. Really clever design and that should avoid the issue of the screws!

It arrived on Friday, not due until Monday. Stunned by the weight of it. I lugged it upstairs and installed it by myself (I'm 75). The weight is not a bad thing. This is a quality piece of equipment. Assembly simply involved inserting the keyboard tray into the slots provided. Piece of cake. No screws to install. No tools required. I was worried that it wouldn't fit on my limited desk with overhanging cabinets. My measurements indicated it would, just. It does, just. I am 6'7", and fully raised the monitor and keyboard are at a perfect height. Lowered, it is almost perfect. The monitor is a bit high, but I am adjusting to it just fine. So far so good. I am writing this while standing. It works! I should reiterate that the the latest version of this product no longer requires any screwing in of the keyboard tray hardware. It comes all in. To insert the keyboard tray, you merely pull down two locking mechanisms, slide the tray in, and pull the locking mechanisms back up to lock the tray in. Removing the tray simply requires pushing down the locking mechanisms and pulling the tray out. Easy as pie. This new version also does not have the slot on the front of the main level that used to be there for inserting a phone or tablet. It is not pictured on the latest product description, but you will see it on reviews, videos, and photos of older versions. I didn't expect to get it and certainly don't miss having it.

This was a big investment, but the amazon price was excellent. I compared it to other adjustable table top standing desk kits and chose this one because it was wider than most. I also love that the keyboard tray is large (and detachable). Furthermore, it goes up quite high which I like because I am on the taller side for most females (5'10"). It easily adjusts to many heights, though. Another great thing about this is that the handles for adjusting the height are in the FRONT, which is nice because you don't have to bend awkwardly and hurt your back to raise it or lower it. It adjusts very fluidly without strain. It is very easy to raise or lower. I use this with a large laptop and computer monitor sitting on top and still have plenty of space in front to put a notebook should I like to take notes while working. I'm very happy with my purchase and am enjoying the benefits of being able to sit or stand as needed while working at home or even playing video games. There are a lot of articles in the news now about the dangers of sitting too much during our day and this certainly helps. My doctor actually recommended that I purchase one because I have low back pain and sitting for too long aggravates it. Getting up to take a break helps some, but isn't always conducive to getting a lot of work done. This makes it so I can quickly raise it, keep working and stand for even longer periods than small breaks throughout my day.

I purchased this to help with lower back problems I am having. It is very difficult for me to sit for long periods of time. I took it to work and my office mates helped me set it up. (Ironically, I couldn't lift it because it was too heavy for me.) This has been a life saver, or should I say, "back" saver. When I can't sit anymore, I just stand. There is a lever on each side and I just press the levers and lift. When I get tired of standing, I press the levers and lower. The only downside for me is the weight. I understand it has to be sturdy, but I am small in stature and with a bad back, I needed assistance. (Note: the outside of the box WAS marked as "Team Lift".)

Just finished the first week with this, and I love it. Notably, today an office mate received his Varidesk of the same size. Not only is the Varidesk $100 more, it is not nearly as nice as the FlexiSpot, for several reasons. First, the Varidesk lifts with spring action, which is much harder to raise and lower than the Flexispot pneumatic assist. Several of the shorter/average height women in the office had a lot of problems raising the Varidesk, and some could not lower it. The FlexiSpot on the other hand was easy for all to raise/lower. Second, the base of the Varidesk is deeper, and hangs over the desks in our cubes, while the FlexiSpot fits perfectly. Third, the Varidesk moves forward when it raises, so the unit becomes top heavy, particularly with the overhang of the base. The FlexiSpot raises and lowers straight up and down so stays more stable. Fourth, the Varidesk has more cutout area, meaning that the FlexiSpot has more real estate for monitor, laptops, paperwork, etc. Finally, I should mention that the problem with the keyboard tray noted in many reviews has been corrected - they have recessed bolts into the tray, so attaching the brackets is no problem, and stays very sturdy. Also note, I am 6'7", and this unit at its tallest is a perfect fit. Overall, the FlexiSpot, after side by side comparison with the Varidesk, is clearly the winner. More stable, easier to raise and lower, more real estate, and $100 cheaper!

I spent a lot of time researching these adjustable standing desks and this one seemed to be the best based on reviews, price, and dimensions. It's wider than a lot of the other options which was important for my dual monitors and larger than normal keyboard. It's also tall enough for me when raised to its highest setting and I'm 6 ft tall. However, it might be a tad bit short if you're much taller. Floor to top surface is right at 4 ft (48 inches). As the pictures show, there's plenty of space on the main surface in front of the monitors for extra stuff, an iPad fits perfectly. It's pretty easy to adjust up and down which is great to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day without spending much time adjusting, just takes a few seconds. The build quality also appears to be top notch, I haven't had any issues yet a couple of months in. I would highly recommend this guy. It's pricey, but for what it provides and compared to other options, it's a great choice.

I purchased this along with the Topo by Ergodriven mat. I used to sit at my desk 8+ hours a day, 5 days a week. I had shoulder pain from my typing position. The front of my right hip, lower back, and left side hurt all the time from sitting so much. I workout 4-5 times a week but still had these pains. After using the standing desk setup for about a week, my pains were slowly going away. Had it for about 3 months and can not imagine going back to sitting all day. This desk was easy to put together. It is very solid and just large enough for two 24" monitors. I chose this desk setup over the varidesk since this just moves vertically when you adjust it. So you don't lose any space when you have it fully extended. I highly recommend getting the mat with it as well. It is fairly expensive but completely worth it.

I'm just now submitting this review, but I had been wanting a desk riser for quite a while but hesitated buying one because of the price, that is until I found this unit. This desktop gives plenty of surface room and the height up or down is easy to adjust. I am a female (age 59) and was able to put this together myself with no assistance or problems. I am able to raise or lower this unit smoothly in as little as two seconds and am super excited to finally have what I've been looking for. Instructions were clear with no problems encountered with assembly or usage. For the dual monitors, I chose the heavy duty VIVO dual LCD monitor desk mount stand which was also easily installed and works flawlessly with this unit. This is a short voluntary review and I highly recommend it. You will NOT be disappointed!

I bought this for my sister who was having back pain from sitting and working at the computer too long. She has a nice old heavy family heirloom desk with lots of drawers that she didn't want to replace with an automatic standing desk. So I started researching the easily convert your existing desk options. I liked that this one went straight up and down (rather than a outward swing that ends way out in the room like Varidesk) and that it had a good warranty, a good price, and the customer service reviews were positive. Plus the company is known and has been around a while and is not just a Chinese knockoff that offers a warranty but you won't be able to find the company let alone use their warranty. When it arrived, it looked BIG and it was definitely going to interfere with her ability to write on the desk surface and keep piles all over it. She wasn't really interested but agreed to try it for a week. We put the keyboard tray on (they have corrected the early design where the screws stripped out by the way) and set it up. (We did put a blanket and piece of cardboard between the desk and it just to protect the desk from any potential damage due to the weight). We added a clamp on monitor mounting arm and set it on the desk and she was ready to start switching back and forth between sitting and standing with a simple squeeze of the levers. Works great and is super stable. She has a 27" monitor and a laptop and it moves super easy. We added the ergodriven topo mat which unfortunately is too wide to slide under her desk but she just stands it up on the side of the desk when she is sitting. Loves it too. After a week, I asked if we should send it back. Nope! Turns out she really likes it. The ease of switching back and forth between sitting and standing is great. Her feet often hurt so she can't stand for too long. So she can work sitting, when her back starts to hurt, stand up for a while, and when her feet start to hurt, sit back down just as quickly and easily. She can't really reach around it to use the desk surface for writing but has figured out a way to make using the platform surface work well enough. Her desk is only about 26" wide with a window behind it, so the keyboard tray does stick out in front of the desk a little bit which interferes with using the top drawers a little bit when sitting. Really though, those are minor inconveniences for the benefits.
