After spending months trying to figure out why I wasn't getting any sound from my new GigaByte mobo/Win 7, it finally dawned on me that a new sound card might be the logical workaround. Oops.... No free slots left. Then I saw the UGreen product and ordered it. This thing *defines* plug-and-play..... plugged it in to a USB port, connected the speakers, and Bingo!.... back in business. And I get two more USB ports in the deal. What's not to like?

It works, and works nicely, the USB ports worked fine. Great work around if your computer doesn't have a mic jack. (Just don't get fooled and think you need this for your mic to work, if your headset has a singular 3.5MM jack, just plug that directly into your headset jack on your computer and the mic input will just be named as your computer's default mic, for me it was realtek high definition aduio microphone array) cons: it's pretty cheap and flimsy plastic, but it works

I got this because my case only had 2 usb3 ports on it not counting the ones on the motherboard and no headphone or mic jacks so I have been hurting for more ports. It works great, I have my turtle beach head phones plugged into this using the audio ports and one USB, a desk fan, and my game controller and it all works perfectly without any noticeable issue.

Bought this for my husband so this is his review: "This hub is exactly what I needed! Works great and simple to get started, you just plug it in. I needed something that would let me run my mouse, phone charger, ipad charger, and my audio all in one unit so that I could just unplug one cable on my laptop when I need to take it somewhere instead of 4 different cables. It's turned my laptop into an awesome workstation as I just unplug this one hub and I'm ready to go, plug it back in and it automatically switches the audio back and forth to the usb hub or internal speakers for me so there is no extra setup needed each time. The hub is compact, looks really nice, and I haven't had any overheating problems or connectivity issues either. I'm wishing it had a few more USB ports now for extra spots as I have already used them all, but I made that choice knowingly and I don't regret buying this as it works great!

Rich Vibrant Sound Quality "NOT" sacrificed for convenience.

UPDATE (6/16/17): Well it appears the issue was not with the mic port/sound card. I was using a professional microphone with a 10 foot cable with a TRS jack, since I was working to consolidate desk space used I had ordered a smaller microphone that was a fraction of the space (like the size of a marble vs the size of an orange). I plugged it in and everything works. I even tested with my headset and it worked just fine too. My friends on discord agree that it is a cleaner sound then my old card. Tested transfer speed, and sound quality: Both passed with flying colors. Kubuntu 16.04 x64 Linux Kernel 4.8.0-X I purchased this because it had stated linux support and it indeed has linux support. I would like to also give a thumbs up to Kelsey from Ugreen Customer Care Team, they sent an email ready to replace the unit as a defect with no questions asked (as long as I was using the right TRS mic jack). ----original post--- This is exactly what I was looking for, to minimize the things hanging off of my computer. I run linux and the sound card works perfect, I cannot seem to get the mic to work in Ubuntu 16.04. I am not sure if the port is faulty or if it is a driver issue. Everything is recognized but I get no input sound. For the price it is not much of a loss on my part, but I am really disappointed. I will still use it as it is still a USB 3.0 hub. I will circle back around and update the rating if I can figure out how to get the mic port to work.

I've been using a Griffin Imic for years, as an interface for a headset on a Macintosh. When I replaced my headset for the PC, I needed an interface. This one (Ugreen USB hub and audio interface) works without hassle. I bought this because the connections though the computer's sound card stopped working properly, and I couldn't use Skype. I experimented with the USB connection and found that it worked well. I use this with a Beyerdynamic MMX300 Mk. II headset. What I hear sounds good, and my voice sounds good to those listening. I agree with other reviewers about the length of the cable. I wish it were longer.

I have a MIDI keyboard with USB out only, no DIN 5 and couldn’t find an audio to MIDI interface for use with iOS devices with no headphone jack. In addition, I have had a headphone jack break on an iPad and the “cure” is a new motherboard. Someone recommended this on the iPad Musician faceBook page. $17 ... sure, why not? The only Audio/MIdi interface I found with MIDI/USB in was $499 — Yiikes! Anyway, paired with the MK0W2AM/A into my iPhone 7, it’s perfect. Near-zero latency right out of the box (zero latency is impossible but this is so fast, you can’t hear it). The iPhone currently supports USB 2 speeds but my 12.9” iPad Pro supports USB 3 speed (with the right Apple CCK) so this is perfect. Battery drain is minimal like my Line6 Mobile Keys 49. I’ve never needed to connect external power at a rehearsal or gig. As the UGREEN hub is bus powered and the MK0W2AM/A allows charging through its Lightening connector, I’m never likely to test the UGREEN’s USB power in. I will assume that it cannot charge my iOS devices but that’s already covered by the USB 3 Apple CCK.

It feels cheap. Light plastic, ports don't plug in super smooth... But that's to be expected for $15. I'm not going to deduct any stars, because so far it's functioned as described, no issues. And the sound quality of the headphone port sounds good. If something comes up I'll update my review.

This thing practically defines bang for the buck. Plugged into my ThinkPad, it gives me great sound *and* connectivity to my mouse, external hard drive, and phone. I haven't yet tried to connect a USB power supply to it; I may do so at some point in the future if I need to run, say, a CD drive off of it, but it certainly handles the usual devices without complaint. One tiny white LED lets you know it's working. All of this for less than $20 is great. The only thing that I would like to change would be to give it a longer cable, but that's easy to fix with any USB 3.0 extension cable.
