Amazing! The power for this little device is substantial ...

Amazing! The power for this little device is substantial for a device this size. I purchased this to assist with prescribed physical therapy post ACL, LCL, and Meniscus replacement surgery. I believe having this device allowed me to reduce the amount of pain medication and my total recovery. I'm now 6 week out of surgery and walking relatively pain-free. I also took this unit with me everywhere, stuffing it in bags, backpacks, the console of my car, dropping it, getting it caught in a door, snagged on a rose bush, and it still works great. I don't give 5 stars for much I think this one deserves it.

Nice self massage, especially for mid back area.

Battery lasts forever and the settings are fun to explore. The pictographs are a little weird -- is it a brain? A wing? The directions are not in English, but at least if you try a new setting it always resets to the mildest settings, so you aren't tortured. Most of them are crescendo pulses that last several seconds. If you try it on different body parts, there's a wide range of sensitivity depending on where you stick the electrodes. For example, you can go to the highest setting on your rhomboids, but your lower back can't go past two on most. Or your bicep contracts against your will on most settings. It has a timer you can set. Using both electrodes cuts the intensity in half. This is good for distracting the brain about pain, since the gateway will only pay attention to one pain/pleasure at a time. It doesn't exercise your muscles much without you working, so it's not for that. It also doesn't relieve swelling (but doesn't cause more like massage or heat would.) The pads are easy to rinse off and reseal with the plastic that came with them...I haven't had to use the extra pads that came with it, let alone the extras I bought.

UPDATED REVIEW: the first unit I received had faulty wiring. I communicated the issue with the seller and they were than happy to issue me a refund and I ordered a replacement. The replacement works wonders. I have a herniated disc and this machine really helps to relieve the pain and get me through the day. I highly recommend this product.

Amazing!

This thing is very impressive. I have multiple sclerosis, so after becoming weaker and falling a couple of times, I ordered one of these. My neurologist's nurse told my mother it was just what happens with MS. I'm sorry, but I refuse to accept. After receiving this and using it only one night, when I woke up the next morning I could already tell a difference! This device is worth so much more than the price.

Worth the money!

The portable massager is easy to use and help me to release the pain of shoulder. Worth the money I spent!

It feels just like the one my chiropractor uses on me

Did this seriously cost just $29.99? It feels just like the one my chiropractor uses on me. Awhile ago I purchased the Icy Hot Back Pain TENS Unit from Target. I wish I had purchased this one instead. It's about 20 times better than the Icy Hot - no joke. This is the first I've felt relief in about a week in a half. My back has been in spasm for that long. So happy with this purchase! Don't hesitate to get one yourself.

Good product but could improve the instructions

The product does work pretty nicely and perform its job. If you are not used to this type of muscle stimulator, you will feel a little weird at first. The higher settings are a little painful, and I recommend starting on a low setting, and then slowly make your way up as you get used to it. The instructions are lacking a little. You need to stick both pads on one person for it to work. The pads also stay sticky for quite a while, so you can get multiple uses out of one. I had a sore shoulder and it feels much better now after using the product.

Why didn't I purchase sooner!

I'm an ICU nurse so I have back pain, elbow pain & whatever else decides to hurt after my 12hr shift. I have tried many creams & pain pills but not one particular thing relieved all the different types of pain I experience. My physical therapist used a TENS on my elbow & it worked so I decided to look for one. This is my first TENS. It came in timely manner. 6 pair of different size pads to chose from, a USB plug & port for charging & 2 cords for dual therapy if needed. The instructions are confusing at first but I got the hang of how to change within modes quickly. It's small & light weight. I highly recommend this to someone who has chronic pain. I've used it on my upper & lower back, elbows & abdomen. Much better than popping pills & smelling like creams.

Good for spinal pain

Product is great. Helps with my spinal fusion pain tremendously. True, the electric shocks can be difficult to adujust to. Take your time. Try the different size pads. The suggestion about water matters as well.

Very sad it stopped working - (Getting replacement)

This this was a life saver for the constant muscular pain in my back. I would use it when I would have bad flareups in my back and in just an hour I’m able to walk and function like normal again. Today I went to go use it and it would not work. I changed the batteries three times and it’s still not working and these were brand new batteries. If there is any way to get a replacement please let me know because I don’t have the money to purchase a new one. Five stars if it were still running for me Update: Ohulu reached out to me via email and is sending me out a new unit. Great customer service, thank you!
