I purchased this for my 11 year-old son for when he plays the piano. I like how it has a louder ticking sound so he can hear it over his music. It has the option of a bell dinging at 2/4/6 beats so, if needed, it keeps him on track per measure when reading music. This can be set to zero if desired, which is excellent because I don't anticipate us needing it with every piece. It feels like it is good quality and easy to use. The cover protects the wand when he transports it in his backpack. Would definitely recommend! Especially at the affordable price.

Cantus delivered this metronome in pristine and sound condition thanks in part to their excellent packaging. The Mechanical Metronome ticks perfectly and with the rhythm selector chimes quite loudly. The device for its price, is quite elegant and feels quite substantial, but don't drop it! The tempo types are clearly seen and dialing up is easy. I bought this metronome for my friend's children who are learning piano. They were excited to get them and from what I've been told, it's made a difference in their practice.

Operates well

This mechanical, wind-up metronome arrived in approximately 3-4 weeks through Amazon Prime. Instructions on how to properly use a metronome are not included. It’s made of plastic, but is not a toy. The sound is loud enough to hear while playing the piano. The unlock prong is located under/beneath the unit. It looks like an electrical socket. Just pull it out and it releases the mechanism to sway left to right.

Very good metronome

I like the mechanical tick tock sound which is loud, but not not too loud. I can hear it when I play to keep time but it's in the background so to speak. It's been great for guitar and as a bonus my cat loves attacking the arm when she thinks I"m not looking so it's an extra amusement factor to me :) Anyway, it works well for my uses.

I have 3 piano players in the house under the age of 11 and this is a great metronome for them! It is easy for them to use and seems high quality. I like that it comes with a plastic cover so when they need to take it with them, the little wand is safe from getting bent. Great product!

The design is sleek and easy to use

Based on some research I purchased this for my school office for discipline issues. When students are upset I set the metronome and wait. Students are fascinated and calmed (as am I) by the sound and movement. Of the times I've used it all have been successful.
