I purchased this for my macaw. She was starting to self mutilate and after much research I decided to do more foraging type of feeding. So far it has worked well. This product is great. My only issue was the 'screws' which secure at the top was made out of plastic, she took less than a week to destroy them. I fixed with metal and so far so good.

I have only had this a week or two but, so far, my 9 month old Jenday Conure likes this. I hung it in his cage next to his sun porch to make it easy to access. He has foraged in it each day and even sits in the evening next to it, as if he is guarding it, afraid someone may come and take it away. I didn't have too much trouble removing the adhesive tape that covered the item. There were small bits that I had to scratch off with my fingernails but removed it all in 10 minutes or so. He has had other toys that he ignored but this he likes. I have only put peanuts and nutri-berries in it so far. I can see that it may be hard to clean when I put live fruits and veggies in it in the future, but as long as he uses it, I am happy to clean it. It has been hard to get him to forage and this will hopefully encourage him with new foods.

We use this almost daily to give our Amazon a bit of a challenge. It's intuitive for birds but still a good challenge. Easy to clean once the top is removed. Only downside I see so far are the plastic nuts and bolts that are used to keep the top on. Easily replaced with small stainless steel bolts if you strip the nuts.

Timneh absolutely loves this thing. He's a smart little boy who loves to figure things out. He went right for it even before I finished hanging it up! Fill it with their favorite treats, small foot toys, yucca chips, and it keeps them entertained until it's emptied! Just the right size. Well made, quality parrot toy. Bought another one for Congo Greys; they absolutely go wild for this thing, too. Will have to get several more so that "everyone" in the house has their own!

As you may know, boredom is a real danger to parrots as they can begin to remove their own feathers, or get involved with other troublesome activities as a result of inactivity during the long hours while you're away. Consequently, it's always a good idea to rotate new, stimulating toys into their environment that engage them in solving puzzles and thought-provoking problems. My African Grey loves this box! She'll spend perhaps a half-hour pushing and pulling on it to get it into a position to access the treats inside. On more than one occasion, she has been hanging from a toy while playing, and had the toy detach; forcing her to fall to the cage floor. However, this box is built of quality, thick plastic, and reinforced at a traditional weak point (the chain attachment) to reduce the chance of the toy detaching from the chain. You can remove the top of the box by loosening a couple of screws, then place a semi large piece of fruit so they can work hard to get to it, or you may also simply shove peanuts, corn or whatever other small treats your bird fancies though the holes in the sides of the box. This is a great toy/feeder and I highly recommend!

We have an African Grey (Daisy Mae) and she is VERY suspicious of anything new on, in or near her cage. Decided to hang the feeder on the outside of her cage. She immediately started squawking. Would not go near that side of her cage for a week. Eventually we moved the feeder inside and went through the same routine. It took about 4 weeks to get her to go near it. I heard her talking one day and went to check on her and she had the feeder in her grasp, going to town trying to get the peanuts out. Can honestly say this has become her favorite toy. She plays with it for about an hour each time I add new things into it. I'm amazed she hasn't put a dent in it yet. Very durable.

I bought this for my African Grey, hung it within her cage, and filled it with in-shell peanuts. I have never seen her approach it - EVER! But the peanut count goes down daily - LOL. So I guess it keeps her entertained when I am away and she thinks she's getting by with something. Two thumbs up!

We have an African grey parrot. This came already put together. Covered on it was a peel of protective paper that we needed to remove. Underneath was very clear, unscratched box with lots of fun cutout shapes. We loaded this with some peanuts in shells that we happened to have on hand. Our bird was so excited. lmbo It really was amusing. She usually is not very active besides her occasional repeating of a word. She is very stubborn. This kept her occupied for hours. Would recommend.

Wanted to try a foraging toy for my amazon parrot and surprisingly took a quick interest. Great starter foraging toy keeps him busy most of the day when he decides he wants a treat.
