Prepare before you install.
Installed on our front gate. Really need to pay attention to gate function prior to installation. And if you are mounting to a brick or block wall spend the extra cash an get an oversized anchor plate that can have several 6 - 8 wall anchors to spread the stress over a larger area. I have a 2” square tube 12’ gate at approximately 300 lbs. with grease fittings on the hinges the 560 handles it well.

Sturdy, heavy duty and worth the price.
Arrived securely and safely in a box as promised. I have a heavier gate, though not 850 pounds, but some windy conditions, so I purchased this stronger unit. It has been operational for 5 days and so far, no issues or problems. Assembly and set up is relatively easy: be patient and follow the included instructions carefully. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The DVD gives helpful general installation tips. Take your time lining up the Mule opener unit properly and the gate will operate smoothly. Everything you need to install a gate using line power is included. Instructions are given on what you need to do if you need to run power to the transformer and control box. Hardware is heavy duty and should handle most heavy gates easily as long as you anchor it firmly and correctly as instructed. I added a third party 10W solar panel (5W is sufficient) from ACOPower: ACOPOWER 10Watt 10W Mono Solar Panel for 12v Battery Charging With this control panel, the solar inputs are the same as the AC power input, but the polarity is not marked. The lower terminal is positive (red) and the upper is negative (black/green). I used 16 gauge bell wire to extend the lead from the solar panel to the control box. You can't use both line and AC power at the same time. Pick one or the other. The control board and option buttons are labeled clearly. One nice touch is that a small screwdriver needed to attach the control and power wires is included with the kit. I left mine in the control box, along with the transformer so it will be there when I need it. If you use the single battery that comes with the unit, you can use the second battery location as storage for the transformer. If the solar panel ever fails, you can quickly convert back to line power. Overall, well made and easy to install.

fixed a dead circuit board
After talking with mighty mule tech help, the conclusion was a dead circuit board, possibly from thunder storm/lightning. The cost of replacement circuit board was only slightly less than purchase of a new system. Everything was replaced, only had to reuse the old solar panel and wiring, and the wireless entry keypad. Installation took about one hour, and after some adjusting the opening and closing limits, it was working flawless. I now have all sorts of spare parts, from those items removed, everything but the circuit board are still in working order.

Mightymule 560
Just installed it 2 days ago. Literally took day and half. It was my first time installing something like this for myself or my husband. Works great so far. !. Opens fine and closes fine. So far im happy. Will update if that changes. I would recommend this product. EDIT: REVIEW. After having it for over year and half. Still working excellent. I have it installed with solar panel, bracket to help push gate out. Recently started not closing all the way left a 6 inch gap. But reset the setting for closing and is perfect again. Figured gate is settling and 650 lbs. Things sometimes need to be adjusted as needed. No problems. Works wonderfully. Wish there was app for this.

I love this gate opener as it's dependable and reliable
I love this gate opener as it's dependable and reliable. This is my second purchase. After a little over 5 years of regular use, my last one had to have the arm replaced and it was easier to buy everything than just the arm. It is a great unit.

Installed with solar panel and no AC power.
Had one installed for about a year now. Installed it with a second battery and 10 watt solar panel. Has worked without any problems so far. It is on a 16' gate. Just ordered a second one for another 16' gate. Even with the solar panel not in constant sunlight, too many trees, the batteries have never given me a problem. Installation was straight forward. Never watched the dvd, just used the instructions.

Great tech support
A few modifications to my first welding job ever building a decorative gate but the unit provided exactly what I needed. I purchased the locking latch when I was getting my raw materials to build the gate so that I could determine the overall width and design. Your tech team was fantastic and provided excellent prompt information that allowed a perfectly open and close setting. Highly recommend your support staff that was easy to reach, extremely patient and provided excellent information.

Ease of Installation
Mighty Mule-a do-it-yourselfer's dream. Why? Because I've dealt with Aleko! This system was incredibly easy to install and unlike a competitor, the programming is even easier. I had to call the tech department because I missed something, but the tech (David) was great, walked me through everything and then discovered one of the dip switches was wrong. Once that was set correctly it was off and running. Highly recommend!

Easy Installation Guide!
As always, Amazon delivered this faster than I had the time or energy to go buy one. The installation was super easy. The instructions were very easy to follow. Would recommend doing as they say and read the entire installation manual prior to installing it. There are plenty of adjustments in both the unit it self and the gate post and area it attaches to the gate . I chose to install it in the gate halfway on the adjustment bracket to give me the adjustment option of several more inches. I am coming from a commercial Elite Chambermin Model. This one is a bit slower, which is good to prevent accidental closure on a vehicle but requires a bit more patience when entering and exiting. Con: Not happy with customer service. Long wait time on the phone and I ended up figuring out the finite adjustment myself and they never even picked up. Also you should know this model does require silicone cleaning and lubrication monthly, His was not disclosed in the product description and this is probably why some people are dissatisfied 6-12 months in. Overall 5 stars for user friendly instructions and ease of installation, 5 stars for quality, 1 star for customer service. It took me less han 4 hours to install it and it was that long because I had additional stuff to do. Overall, I would recommend it.
