Total time: 1 football game and 3 beers in the driveway. I was a little skeptical about getting these bars because people seemed to be complaining about hardware issues and misalignment of the bolt hole pattern, but decided to take a risk, All in all I am very happy, and don't think any other brand is going to do much better on fitment or hardware, but wanted to give others enough detail to decide for themselves. (For comparison I was installing these on a 2009 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara.) The Good: These are well packaged, solid and very heavy. As far as I can tel,l the bars have more points of contact (3 points of contact) than many of the name brand competitors (2 points of contact) that charge $100-$200 more for the same type of product. I was able to remove the old factory steps and install the new rails by myself in the driveway in about 3 hours with the assistance of 1 jack stand. The hardest part of the install was actually removing the old hardware. (Even with a generous dose of PB Blaster I had a nut break loose from the bracket that held it inside the frame so I had to cut the bolt with a dremmel carbide blade to get the old step off.) I had none of the hardware alignment issues that others reported (all the holes were in the right place if you got the bar aligned properly), and complaints about difficult instructions seem to have caused Tyger to include instructions that are clear and include lots of pretty pictures. I suspect that some of the people that previously reported bolt hole alignment problems probably didn't start on the right side of the vehicle (the instructions a very clear that you need to start at the rear of the vehicle and move forward), didn't put the bar in the right position when they attempted to fit the bars, or don't know how to loose fit a series of bolts and then progressively tighten to center. Generally, if you start mounting from the rear of the vehicle and move forward (otherwise the bar won't tuck under the body mount when you try to bolt the rear part of the bar. The Bad: (1) The instructions assume that the underside of the jeep is either all open (07-11), or all threaded (11-17). For some reason my jeep had a threaded hole in the rear on each side, but open slots in the front and middle positions. The hardware that was included did not include a bolt of the right size for the threaded hole. I was able to re-use one of the old bolts from the OEM step to attach the new bars, but if your jeep has seen a lot of water/corrosion you may need to buy a couple of new bolts to get the job done. (2) Instead of using clips (like the OEM steps) to hold the bolt in place on the inside of the body, Tyger has decided to use nuts that are welded to a bar. You have to gently slide the bar/nut into the body, and leave it sitting loose inside of the frame. I don't know if this is a cost saving for the manufacturer ($0.25?), but it makes installation a PITA. You have to very gently turn the bolt under the nut and pray that the nut has been centered well enough that it will thread itself. If I had to do it over again, I would consider buying clips & nuts at the local auto shop or hardware store to make the process easier.

Shipped and delivered very fast, and excellent shipping protection. Arrived without a single scratch which is rare for something so large and heavy. Good instructions, all parts were there and all the bolts, nuts and washers are finished in an excellent black finish to they blend in and have weather protection. Fit and finish is EXCELLENT ! Installation was very easy even though I did it by myself (used a jack stand to hold one end up as I got the bolts started) Best is that they fit perfectly and look great. Can't wait to get off road and add my own scratches on the bottom bar as I go over some rocks or stumps. Highly recommend and will definitely look at TYGER for other products !

My buddy bought similar steps from another manufacturer. First little rock they encountered in the Arizona Mountain trails we ride in - one of them caved in. I am a Fabricator and Weldor but am just so short on time, I turned to looking for a ready-made solution. I needed steps for my vertically challenged better half and these look like they would fit the bill. The box weighed in at just under 100# and my UPS driver was glad I was there to help him unload. The hardware was all black-oxide coated and was equal to the 8.8 hardware used by Jeep on our 2015 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. Installation without using my lift was accomplished in under an hour and that included removal of the factory Rubicon rock-rails. Only slight glitch was the need to pry the right front IN just a skosh so the pinch weld bolts could be started. All bolts installed loosely and then tightened once all were in place. So now to the test - (Excuse the street wheels/tires on my Jeep in these pictures - the real wheels and tires are in storage until this fall when we head to AZ) Using my Hein-Werner floor jack, I slide it under the rock rail on the driver’s side and lifted the whole left side of our 4,000# Rubicon. I figured if they weren’t up to the task, I would have to weld in supports or something. NO ISSUES! The lower rock rail did not deflect while the weight of the truck was on it, nor did it ding or dent. Minor bruising in the powdercoating is to be expected.. See the pictures and judge for yourself.

This is the second set of side armor that I have installed on my 2008 JK. I previously had Smittybilts on, which I was extremely happy with until the first time that I went off road, they bent, IMO, due to only having 2 mounting points. So I decided to look for something more heavy duty with 3 mount points. I received the Tyger Armor and installed them the next day. Took a little more than an hour to install both. The fitment issues I had read from other purchaser's reviews on this product was not an issue for my Jeep. However, I did have to apply some pressure in a couple spots to get some of the bolts in. DON'T tighten the bolts all the way down as you go, just get them all on and then incrementally tighten down the bolts. They look great and once I trail test them ... I will update the review, but I think they will stand up. Each armor/step weighs about 50 pounds. I used a couple of 5 gallon buckets to hold them off the ground at a high enough level to use minimal effort to attach each end to the Jeep. All-in-all, very pleased with the quality and appearance !!!

If you think isn't looks good in the photo, wait till you see it physically... This product is absolutely beautiful. Easy install too, took me 2 hours to get both rails on without assistance. In regard to the people who have issues with holes lining up: I had one one hole on each rail that SEEMED to not line up. I was able to get it to line up by adding pressure to the rail with a jack. I just used a chunk of 2X4 to keep from scratching the rail. I didn't have to drill or bore out anything.

These were easy to install and looked better than I hoped. I am leasing a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and did not want to have to drill any holes.. These bolted right up in under and hour. They included step-by-step instructions with pictures but they were very easy to figure out how to install them. Tyger included mounting hardware for two types of installation (depending on the year of the Wrangler). My 2017 came with factory threaded holes in the floor panel . I did need help from my daughter to hold them in place while I put in the pinch weld bolts. Once it was loosely bolted I could do the rest by myself. Every bolt lined up to the factory holes. I did have to adjust and move the rails a bit line things up but they all line up properly. Read and follow the instructions. (You loosely bolt them on at first then on first then evenly tighten them up working side then bottom bolts pulls them into position evenly before finally tightening them. )

UPDATE 8/22/17: Tyger did exactly as they stated they would and after some brief back & forth e-mails, we received the $26 to cover the cost for the hardware. Just want share that we are beyond happy to report that all is great and the side step/rock guards look amazing! I did fail to mention that the steps took about 35-40 to mount - easy stuff! Previously posted: Box arrived from AMAZON torn and looked like someone took box tap to fix the damaged box - one end was completely blown out. Upon arrival I inspected and it appeared product was still in tact. A few day later (Saturday morning install day) I went to install and while unwrapping each step/bar assy - discovered no hardware was to be found. I assumed during initial inspection the hardware was wrapped within each side step. How frustrating, took list of required metric hardware and went down to Home Dummy and had to buy $26 worth of needed/missing parts. The bar are awesome, however, the manufacture & amazon need a better method of securing hardware to the rails so they do not separate from contents. The step does not stick out that far and really is useless as I'm 6', my wife (her jeep) agrees and she is 5' 4". I looked all over the AMAZON site, as well Tyger's to find a customer support phone number - none exists, so clearly they do not want to provide a professional level of care nor want to talk to another human OR paying customer...

I have absolutely beat the crap out of mine and it hasn't failed yet. Great product. I've had for almost two years now, wheeled it in several states and she gets abused. Jeep is a daily drive too. I build custom Jeeps for a living.

These bars/steps look and work awesome!! My wife can safely get in and out of Jeep now. They don’t stick out a lot, just the right amount. They weigh about 50 lbs. each, very strong and very well made. I like how they mount to vehicle, there are a total of nine screws each side, three underneath, and six to drip rail with nuts. They are textured black and look very sharp. I’m sure if I was to have a side impact these bars would help out. They look AWESOME!!!!!

These are absolutely beautiful. Fit, finish and quality are flawless. Instructions were clear and straightforward. All necessary hardware was included. The bars were packed exceptionally well and had no damage whatsoever. Installation was simple. I didn't have a helper, so I sat on the ground and balanced them on my knees while I started the bolts. I did not have any issues with bolts lining up. Based on what I saw with my 2016, I have a hard time believing that the holes wouldn't line up. The key is to not tighten anything all the way until all the bolts are in. Each step has three mounting areas, each with a large bolt going vertically into the frame, and horizontally through the pinch weld with 2 nuts/bolts. If you tighten either the vertical or horizontal bolts too soon, you'll probably run into issues. Tighten everything in steps and you'll have no trouble at all. Although the item title doesn't say it, these are true rock rails in addition to being step bars. The bottom tube is a single continuous piece. They are extremely heavy and sturdy. I replaced my factory Rubicon rails with these on our 2016 Willys. If a step bar that doubles as a rock rail is what you're after, these are a solid bet. The only downside to speak of is in the design itself. As they are intended to serve as rock rails as well as steps, they fall a little short in the step department. To truly be a functional step, I would want them to sit a bit lower and/or farther out. These place the step right below the body, and with only a couple of inches to step on. This is fine for the kids with small feet, but my size 12 shoes don't have a huge contact patch. Also, with as high as they are, they wouldn't be very helpful if the Jeep were lifted. If this style of bar is what you're after, these are 100% awesome. However, if your Jeep is lifted or you're vertically challenged yourself, a different style of step bar may suit you better.
