Great label maker please read my honest review about this little hand-held label maker
I'm so glad that I purchased this label maker. Let me tell you why? Because everytime I put my winter and summer clothes away I vacuum pack them and put them in the plastic totes and I have to open up all my plastic totes to see what clothes are inside and it drives me crazy. I DON'T want to use a permanent marker to write on the top of the lid. So now I use the label maker to stick it on the lid. If I need the plastic tote for something else to store in, all I have to do is put a new label over the top of it and you can't do that with a permanent marker because then you'll have scripple all over it and plus it looks tacky too. The label makes it more neater than a permanent marker. I even label my tools so no one takes them by mistake. I even put labels on the bottom of my tupperware so when I take my tupperware with food in it to a house party at least I'll know I'll get it back. I even put it on my dvd movies if someone borrows my dvd movies I know I'll get back because my name is on my dvd movies. I even used the label maker to put it on my nephew's lunch box for school so my sister-inlaw doesn't have to write his name in permanent marker. I'm telling you you'll find ways to use this label maker. I even use it when I'm making up a picture poster board for a funeral or a wedding. Plus I'm going to use it when I wrap Christmas gifts on the wrapping paper for the name tags instead of using or buying tags for the wrapping paper. I love this machine it's so darn easy to use. Even an elderly person can use it or for that matter any age. Plus the carridge tapes are very cheap and not that expensive. Thank goodness. Plus I loved it when it came with the sample tape cartridge that was a bonus to me because I didn't want to buy the tape cartridge at first until I made darn sure that the label maker worked to begin with. If it didn't work then I would have to send it back and that's a hassle. But I'm glad it worked in my favor and now I'll be buying more tape cartridges for it. You won't be disappointed go out and order one and plus it's reasonably cheap not like the expensive ones that I saw. The price fit the bill for me since I'm on a little budget and I didn't have to break the bank. So please everyone out there buy this for yourselves and for the kids of any age in your family. I'm going to be ordering more for my teenage niece and my 5 year old nephew so he can make a scrapbook since he likes making and drawing things this will be perfect for him. For my niece she can label all her stuff that she has to arts and crafts and her school stuff as well. I want to personally thank amazon for selling this label maker. I'm your number one customer if I can't find it in the stores or somewhere online I know I can count on amazon because they always have everything on hand when I need it. Plus it's free shipping thanks to the prime membership and that's what I love the free shipping and sometimes no sales tax which is a big plus for everyone in the world including me. Thanks again amazon.

Brother P-touch hand-held label maker
I bought this to replace another Brother P-touch hand-held label maker, which I had for many years. This arrived today and I am very pleased with it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that you might find with another label maker, and some people might be disappointed that it only offers 3 fonts, but the choices it offers - which are plenty - are all I need. I especially like that I can adjust the margins, which wasn't available with my last one and I always felt the large margins were a waste of tape. I also like that I can make cable labels. Instructions that were included are excellent. It's very easy to use, doesn't take up a lot of space, is sturdy, and prints a good-looking label . I like that I have the choice to add an adapter instead of using batteries; although, if this label maker is like my last Brother label maker, the batteries last a long time.

... but this one gets the job done and is easy to use
I'm no label expert but this one gets the job done and is easy to use. The margin thing is annoying but if using the cheaper tape it's no big deal. Also, it's silly the cord costs more than the labeler and is sold separately. I so far just use batteries and I'm not using the label machine all the time so I haven't had to change them out yet and I've had the labeler for about 2-3 months and have lableled all my kids toy storage, our kitchen including the fridge (I went a little nuts with our 3rd kid), laundry room and kid's closets to give you an idea of battery life for the occasional binge label user.

Works great, I’m loving the print style options :)
So far this thing is working great. My only gripe is the fact that no matter what margin setting or length setting you try, it is going to always use a factory set amount of tape. When I adjust the margins it really only moves the print from center to off center or far right. Meaning if I leave it normal, I end up cutting the excess from both sides. Offset means I cut a little more on the left than the right. And the far right means I’m only cutting off the excess on the left. Basically if you print the word “TEST” 3 different times and adjust the margins each time. All three pieces of tape are gonna measure the same, but the word itself is just gonna move from center to the right edge. Leaving blank wasted tape on the left.

USER FRIENDLY
Very user friendly. I am not one to read instructions, I want something that is "user friendly" and if I have to read basic instructions on how to operate something then I wouldn't label it as such. There are several fonts to choose from, upper and lower case letters, as well as BOLD and regular, and several different sizes of font. The tape it comes with is white, not clear, and ink is black. I bought this to label all of the switches in my house because there are many (overhead lights, fans, fan lights, patio lights, lamps...) and then used it for labeling my kids Christmas presents from Santa (they know my handwriting too well). Great product for the price.

Very Nice Little Label Maker for Home Use
I have used a more professional model of this brand at work which is why I felt comfortable purchasing any Brother product. They make quality label makers. This little label maker does a lot for a pared down model. It requires a few more steps than the more expensive models when you want to add a # or & symbol (and there are many, many more symbols to choose from), but for using it at home, it is not a problem. I use it for very simple labels and it performs beautifully. There are optional frames which can be inserted and these are perfectly lovely and functional for my simple needs. I used them to label plain, glass canisters on my counter--love it! I find all kinds of uses for these labels. There are 4 fonts and they can be bold, italic, shadow print, small, medium or large print. There is quite a variety of combinations to do everything I want at home. I am very satisfied and would recommend this product to create functional, quick (and even pretty) labels. The generic cartridge refills work well with it also. Excellent product!

Great way to start organizing your life!
This is a great, easy to use label maker. If you want to be more organized, getting a label maker is a great way to start, it really forces you to condense and compartmentalize items. I’ve been using this solely for my son’s toys. They were everywhere and very disorganized. I purchased little bins from Target for $.80 each, organized and labeled and everything feels SO much cleaner. Out of the box, the machine is a little intimidating looking, but it’s very intuitive to use. It saves your last used settings so you’re not constantly having to go back and reset. There are a TON of different font, spacing, and “design” options- I like things simple so I don’t use those much but I think that it will be a fun feature for labeling our kids items (waterbottles, lunch boxes etc) when they get older. Like other reviewers, the only thing I do not love is that it does use more tape on each side than I would like. In all, if you want an easy to use label maker, is highly recommend this one!

... the Dymo LM160 If you are shopping for a good budget label maker
Comparison between the Brother PTH110 vs the Dymo LM160 If you are shopping for a good budget label maker, you might be having a tough time deciding between these 2 models (like I was). I recently purchased this model, and also had an opportunity to try the Dymo as well, and I feel this one takes the cake. I conducted a few tests to determine print quality and durability you can see in the photos. The white label is printed from the Brother, and the clear label was printed with the Dymo (I did not have access to white dymo labels). Basic print quality for a standard font appears roughly the same on each. The pictures with the labels on the jar were taken after a cycle through the dishwasher, in which both labels held up great without issues. Brother advertises its labels as being laminated, and this does indeed seem to drastically increase durability as can be seen in my sandpaper test. The picture with the letter D on a piece of wood were taken after giving 30 light strokes to each using 600 grit sandpaper. You can see the clear winner in this case is the Brother. Some other things to point out. Other reviewers claimed the brother wasted tape with extra large margins, however they must have been unaware that the margins are adjustable, with a default of 1 inch, but you can easily make it 1/4 inch. Sometimes however with the small margins, one side will be slightly larger, and include a cut mark, and you must manually cut it to size in that situation. Also it shines with a greater level of options with fonts, brackets, styles, symbols etc. You can actually look up the pdf instructions on each manufacturers site (or in my links I will post below) to see more about what types of fonts, brackets, symbols each has, but in short the brother has many more options, and you can make labels that look far more stylish than what the Dymo can do. You can see the picture of the silicone label with the fancy bracket, outline lettering, and a drop shadow. I was surprised to find that the drop shadow even worked with things like the symbols, so if you put a heart in there for example, it will have the drop shadow as well. The menus were quite intuitive and easy to use. Most settings were pretty easy to find, and I only referred to the instructions a couple of times. Overall I am very happy. If you want an even better one (supposedly, I have not personally used it) you can step up to the Brother PT-D210, which has more fonts/symbols/etc but quite frankly, for me at least this one meets my needs well Links to instructions for comparison [...] [...]

Up and Running With This in Minutes
I saved $11 on this purchase by getting a refurbished device. Since I've never had a label maker go bad (eight in almost 30 years), I figured we were just looking at a return. I was correct in that the box was torn and everything else looked fine. This is my fifth Brother labeler (four were P-touch) and one of the cheapest. I looked back at my older reviews and see where I have paid as much as $140 for the Brother PT2730 and spent a couple of hours learning how to use it. This machine is one where you can be printing out labels in 5 minutes without reading any instructions. I also have a couple that connect to the computer but most of the time all I need is a small one I can run around with. For most people, a simple one like this is all you need.
