Use this for my iPhone 8 and it's very protective. Wireless charging still works, despite it being a pretty thick case.

I upgraded to a new iPhone over the weekend and immediately ordered this case. I used an Otterbox Commuter Series case on my last iPhone and it saved it hundreds of drops. The previous case cracked and chipped on a couple of corners, but my iPhone 6S was in perfect condition when I removed the case to trade in. That made the case for my new iPhone 8 an obvious choice. The new case took a little effort to install (as it should being a snug fit), but fits perfectly. I haven't dropped my iPhone yet (*knock on wood*), but am confident Otterbox will protect it when I inevitably do. [Popsocket was added separately - it's not included with Otterbox.]

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to do so on this item. I work construction and today I was 50-60 feet in the air I’m a boom lift. I took my phone out of my pocket to see what time it was and I dropped my phone and watched it fall to the concrete ground below me. 50-60 deer BELOW me!!!!!! I was certain that when I got to the ground I would find my phone in pieces and at best just not working any more!!!! To my surprise it was totally fine. Working just like new as the phone is only a month old. I have a small sent in the bottom corner of the case where it hit the ground first but other than that JUST FINE!!!! What a great item. I will order again.

I've had an OtterBox on my phone ever since I started buying smart phones. I used to use the Defender cases but wanted something smaller. It seems other people felt the same way because OtterBox came out with the Commuter series. It offers huge protection in a smaller package. Compared to other cases on the market in the same size, the Commuter just appears to be much better built. I paired it with the OtterBox screen protector and I couldn't be happier. I purchased this about a week after I bought the phone (went on a trip the day I bought the phone so I didn't have time to go get a case. Bad move - dropped the phone and dented the corner in that week). Every phone I buy will have an OtterBox case of some sort.

I have always put my iPhone in an OtterBox Commuter. Once again, I would say I have used one through 4 iPhones. Just updated to an iPhone 8 and had to protect it with an OtterBox. I love my new one also. I love the 2 layer protection. The case is not slippery so I feel I can get a good grip on my phone and it does not easily slide off of any surface. Unfortunately they do not make the commuter wallet case with the sliding drawer anymore. I loved mine. So I have decided to add a stick on pouch which I will review with that purchase.

I always purchase the Otterbox Commuter Series cases for my phones. They are not what would be considered fashionable items, however, they are practical, and provide exceptional protection when used with screen protectors. They slide in, and out of pockets easily, and provide a nice grip without being too slippery. Previously, I used the Otterbox Commuter on my Moto X, and after years of use, it saved the phone during falls, and the phone looks like new. The only drawback I could think of, is that I do not like the cutout for the Apple logo -- provides an opportunity for dirt and dust to enter the case, and potentially scratch the phone, or leave a nice, round imprint -- although, it is easily avoided by using a plastic film protector underneath the cutout. The case does not add a lot of bulk to the phone, and all buttons remain easy to press.

I bought this case as an Amazon Warehouse Deal (an item that has been returned) for about $15. I had my doubts about whether or not it would fit my iPhone 8 because it’s supposed to fit an iPhone 7 as well. I gather that the two phones aren’t quite the same size. Well, to my delight, this case does indeed fit an 8! Perfectly, actually. The case was fast and easy to put on my phone. It feels sturdy, too. This is my first Otterbox. Until I bought this Otterbox, I had a crappy case on my phone, which was a flimsy, overpriced ($40) clear case I bought from an AT&T store when I purchased the phone. This Otterbox Commuter case is worlds better! To all the doubters out there, this case DOES fit an iphone 8! I have no idea why people think it doesn’t fit, unless they’re trying to make it fit an iPhone 8 Plus. I’m very happy with this purchase. A great deal for $15!

So it is super irritating to put on, but it's suppose to be since keeping it tight in the case is what protects it. It DOES FIT THE iPHONE 7. I see a lot of reviews for the iPhone 8 which is cool, but I want to let my iPhone 7 peeps know that this will work for you. As stated, it does not come with a screen protector of any sort because the edges of the cased are raised and padded with rubber (?) to help absorb shock and keep the phone from shattering. Get a separate screen protector to keep scratches away. The case is slim, which is nice since I hate bulky cases. I can easily fit this halfway into my pockets (only half way because that's all the pocket women-marketed jeans have ugh). It also fits easily into my phone-holder armband that I use when I work out which is SUPER nice. The charge port / headphone port is covered by a movable rubber piece, the speakers are not covered at all. Camera hole is wide and does not disrupt picture taking in the least. The little side switch that allows you to turn sound on/off is not covered as well. If I remember I'll try and update this review after it's been a month or two. Right now I would definitely recommend.

I was looking for a case that offered great protection without being too bulky. Very pleased with the outcome. The inner part is a very good fit and the outer shell is strong enough to hold up for my use. Slides into a front shirt pocket or pants pocket easily. The surface finish is better than the 5s commuter I just got for another phone and provides better grip. Definitely a great value.

Great case. I did apply a separate screen protector too. Sleek and good fit. Quality product. I have dropped my iPhone 8 (from ~3 feet) on a hard surface and it was fine. It’s not as bulky as the OtterBox Defender that I have used on previous phones and you definitely get better screen clarity if you apply a screen protector directly versus the integrated one on the Defender. The trade off is that it probably will not provide the same level of protection when dropped on its face on a non-flat surface (a rock, etc), because the Defender has more pronounced raised edges on the front than this model.
