She loves it
Echo Dot in my GMC Sierra Denali. At first she was just there with no support. She sat in that hole with no protection. Shifting, jiggling not knowing what can happen. There has to be something I can do. I looked and search and what I found is the "Fabric Case" for Alexa. This is it! A support she will be happy to wear. No more accidental popping out, no more shifting and readjusting, she is finally safe.

Perfect for Echo Dot 2nd Generation
I have to agree that the Echo Dot 2nd Generation sits slightly loose inside this case. Having said that, once you plug in the AC plug into the Echo Dot it kind of helps keep the case secured to the device. I received my case today and am very pleased with the quality of it and how it fits and looks with my Black Echo Dot 2nd Generation device. It dresses it up as some other reviewers have mentioned. Also has a rubberized bottom which is perfect for holding steady wherever the Echo Dot 2nd Generation is placed. I went back and forth in deciding if I wanted to order the Charcoal color or the Merlot leather type case. I went with the Charcoal color which makes the unit look great! Very happy with my purchase of this item. Amazon even shipped it to me sooner than my selection of a time delay shipping date as I wasn't in a hurry for the case. Thanks Amazon!

This is a great outer body sleeve for the Echo Dot
This is a great outer body sleeve for the Echo Dot. Very well made, has hardbody lining so it's not flimsy at all. Impressed with how nice this looks! It's perfect for my husbands mancave / office space!

Great upgrade for aesthetics
I'm a huge fan of the Echo family. I have two Echo's, three Dots and one Tap. No they aren't essential to my life but I love playing music, listening to the news and controlling the Philips Hue smart lights throughout my home. It was a large investment that most of the population won't make - with that being said I am not a huge fan of the way the hockey puck Dots look like. Glossy plastic looks a little cheap to me although it has no effect on the performance of them. Having the Dot cover is a great option and it looks fantastic. Some reviewers say they look cheap or fit too loose - I'm not sure why people are moving their Dots. Since Dots are made to be stationary, have a loose fitting cover isn't an issue. To me, it fits perfectly. They also aren't made of real fabric, but the important part is that it does look like the fabric in the picture. Not being fabric is a better option considering plastic is much more durable than material and will hold its color better if your Dot happens to get sunlight. I bought three covers - Blue, Grey and White. They all look good but the grey is my favorite as it doesn't attract more attention than it needs to. With that being said, I like all three colors. Edit 07/11/2017 - These covers hold up well over time. Mine haven't collected dust or faded. I've kept them on for over half a year and not a single issue (not that I'd expect any besides possible fading).

5 STARS
I cannot say that I love this cover enough. The price was great and it makes my echo dot 2nd gen look just like 3rd gen dot. I had the white dot and ordered the sandstone fabric cover. I love the fabric appearance much better than the original shiny plastic look. It blends in better and is very cute. My dot fits nicely inside. It does not “snap” onto the dot, but there isn’t space for the dot to shift around nor does it look too big for the dot. Obviously if I threw it across the room or turned it upside down, the dot would slide out. Some reviewers seemed to think it was unacceptable that if you did those mentioned things, the cover would no longer remain on. I don’t plan on doing that nor do I move my dot around so I’m perfectly fine with how the cover fits. There were no sound issues with my dot once the cover was put on either. This was a great purchase.

Major fan, didn't buy this because of protection, bought it cause it will blend in to my decor. It is not a skin, so it's not skin tight. Yes it's loose but how often will you grab it and move it. Me maybe once every year.

The Extra Touch
I am thoroughly impressed with my Echo Dot and this case takes it to the next level by appearing as a much higher end product; vs. a nerdy plastic computer sitting on your kitchen countertop. The construction is solid and it is slightly lifted to still allow audio access from the bottom of the Echo. This case/cover will give your Echo the needed extra touch allowing it to blend in, but still offer the great functionality of Alexa.

Good way to dress a hockey puck!
Yes the Echo Dot fits just a tad loose but it doesn't rattle when sitting inside this case. As one reviewer said, how often do you move your Dot anyway (I haven't moved mine for almost 2 years!). I got the gray "fabric" one, which looks like real fabric to me, even from 6 inches away, and it nicely matches my new Gen3 Dot in the other room as well. I thought it dresses up the black puck very nicely, particularly when it is sitting in front of my desk just below my computer monitors. For $5 I thought it was worth it. I would have passed on it if it was selling for its original price of $15.

Looks nice!
My wife and I really like the way it looks. As others have said, it isn't a snug fit and is more like a sleeve than a case.
