Great instrument, mine came perfectly intonated has a really rich tone. I would absolutely recommend this to any beginner mandola players that are excited to try this incredible instrument. I am extremely happy I got this :)

I am a signer songwriter that typically plays multiple nights a week Playing the electric version of this mandola. I like this so much that I want another one of these as an emergency back up. I have plenty of nice instruments. Ones that cost more than 5x the cost but somehow this is my favorite to play. I have done at least over a hundred live performances with it. I purchased this to use it as an octave mandolin. They should consider selling it as an Octave mandolin instead of as a mandola. As many remarked it comes with strings that are not great. I tried to tune it and broke 2. I didn't care,I knew they would be bad and ordered D'Addario EJ80 Phosphor Bronze Octave Mandolin Strings, Medium, 12-46 in advance. I still have not broken or needed to change them. That is surprising actually because I play a bit rough on it sometimes. It definitely has a buzz if I go overkill hitting the G string hard. I can probably cut a new nut to space the g strings a bit farther apart to try to prevent string to sting buz but with refinement of playing techniques I can play it better hone in on some very nice sounds. My favorite characteristic of this thing is how nice it feels and sounds to play percussive style on it where you tap and slap out the beat on the body and strings while playing. The best gig bag I found to fit it is the Tosnail Mini Strat Gig Bag. I bough sheets of insulation foam and cut a little bit of a form to go around the Octave mandolin in the case for a bit more protection, particularly around the head stock. I don't like the sound of it much if I go straight into the PA from the built in piezo pick up. I prefer going through a bit of effects first via pedals or even going through my Roland Micro Cube sounds really good to me. There were no pegs to use a strap so I added some quick release strap locks by LOXX. I use dress ties as my straps. I have no fear of this strap system failing. I guess that's all I can think of for now. Not everyone will like this thing but I love it.
