I usually get medium sized gloves but got a small size in these because in the pictures they looked large. I'm glad I did as it fits like a glove.. haha. I mainly use these as gardening work gloves rather than rose-pruning gloves. I wanted to keep my wrists and forearms clean from dirt whenever I handle soil and repotting plants. My initial impressions of these gloves are great. The leather is soft and pliable. The large cuffs let air circulation for my sweaty hands. I did handle the spines of dragonfruit a couple times without issue. Update 2 years later: I've gone through 2 sets of these gloves. The hand portion does not last super long, 6-12 months depending on your degree of use. Holes typically start at the fingertips. The cuffs are durable as heck. But I still like them so much...the feel, non-break-in period, flexibility, and protection. I am keeping my high rating because I keep reaching for these gloves.

This is my second pair of these gloves, and I like them a lot. I know that the product description is for Gardening, and yes, I use them when I'm working in the yard, but the real reason I bought these is that I have a skin condition whereby the slightest amount of scraping against the skin on my forearms causes some really nasty looking bruising. They don't hurt and it's not that big a deal. My somewhat wiseacre Dr. quipped that it's just another of the joys of getting a bit older—and worse if you're taking a blood thinner, including daily aspirins like me. Okay, I can live with that, but if I carry a box or just about anything with a sharp corner, I get these ugly things. An inadvertent scrape against something with an edge does it, too. So, this second pair I bought is going into my tool box. These gloves are very comfortable and provides a great deal of protection. I'm not sure how many people have the same issueI do, but if you do work with your hands and have it, I'd say go get yourself a couple pair of these. All the best!

Although I returned my first order These are buttery soft gloves/gauntlets and I can't wait to get a size that fits better. The leather was soft and supple and felt really good on my hands.. (though bigger than I expected). I ordered size Medium expecting a decent fit since I wear Men's Medium gloves at work. Too big for me so I returned them and ordered size Small. My hand is 8 inches around across my knuckles and my palm almost 4 inches vertical. If I find the new pair slightly small, I'll apply olive oil on the inside where it's tight, and the leather will give and become form fitting to my hand. This also works for leather shoes and vests too. Edit: I've received my Size Small gloves. They are so nice and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The gauntlet is heavier suede and will easily deflect thorny bushes and the hand glove part is supple enough for me to pick tender berries with them and thick enough to keep my hands protected . I am very pleased in all aspects of this purchase. Thank you so much.

I've purchased five or six pair of leather gloves over the years to use for gardening and backyard projects. In every case, the leather is typically too thin and they soon wear out, and I never could get near my rose bushes or thorny-branch trees with them. So I was looking for a pair of gloves that I could use to touch and clip the branches on a rose bush, lime tree and lemon tree, without having to use two pair of gloves, or something else to grab ahold of the branches. The gloves are advertised to be thorn and cut-proof - so I figured they could handle my needs, so I ordered a pair for both myself and my wife. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! No more excuses for not trimming the rose bushes and trees. I'm completely satisfied, in fact, extremely satisfied, with these gloves - and it's the last pair of leather gloves I'll ever buy! Every rose has its thorn... until you own a pair of Legacy Gardens Leather Gloves!

I bought these gloves because I got tired of being scratched and poked when I trim my rose bushes. The price was reasonable so I thought I'd give them a try. They arrived a few days ago and I decided to give them a real test on some blackberry vines that were taking over a large flowering bush I have. Some of the vines were over 12 feet long with huge thorns. I was able to just grab ahold and pull. The gloves prevented me from getting stuck or scratched. I LOVE THEM. if I could give a higher score I would.

Package just arrived and I tried these on immediately. Here is my first impressions. #1 - look out for the smell - the plastic baggie holds in the most obnoxious smell from the manufacturing process, but don't worry, it dissipates soon enough after first knocking you off your feet. #2 - I should've believed the chart but having been burned too many times in the past when purchasing scrubs or shoes/sneakers from Amazon without being able to try items on and didn't want to return yet another piece of clothing for being too small. I have large hands for a female ( for comparison I wear US size 9.5 or 10 W shoes also wear size large latex gloves at work) so I didn't quite believe I'd fit in a medium glove as recommended on the chart and ordered regular large. Well, what'd'ya'know they're big on me. Surprised that a medium would've been perfect but am keeping these larges because of stories of people finding themselves banned from buying for too many returns. I'm not upset or angry with anyone for this company displaying an ACCURATE sizing chart. And when it comes to gloves, better too big than too small. Best would've been believing this particular manufacturer. #3 - Checked all the seams and stitching. Gratefully, these gloves seem to be well constructed and genuine cow hide and pigskin. No synthetic imitation materials detected. I look forward to wearing these.

Pruning back palm fronds with edges like shark's teeth (photo), 30 year old bougainvillea and firethorn in Phoenix, AZ. These gloves are light to wear, which is good in the heat, and they give a great sense of security. I am so happy using them for brush clearing.

I like that they are all leather and a different color than most gloves of this type. Actually purchased these gloves to be able to handle a feisty cat. These gloves are long enough and thick enough for me to be able to handle a cat that does not like to be restrained. These gloves are soft pliable leather on the hands, and thick leather up the arms that are sufficient for my protection from the cat claws/teeth. These gloves may not suit everyone that would consider this use but they work for me, being an experienced domestic cat handler. (I use this pair exclusively for the cats.) As for gardening use, these gloves are perfect for outdoor pruning purposes! They stand up well to rose thorns too!! I am also a volunteer landscape maintenance worker for a 50 acre property with 100+ rose bushes. I find they are better quality than other similar gloves I have previously purchased and will purchase these again, when needed!!

We bought these for cleaning up the Palm trees in our yard. They arrived yesterday and we tried them out immediately. They are very well made, they don't make your arms sweat and they WORK. They protect your arms when cutting those palm leaves/stems and you need protection from the spikes/needles that can nip your forearms. We are very pleased.

Soft flexible glove to wrist, fingers are just right to use cutters, etc. Not too big at the tip. Heavy duty leather above wrist to protect arms from branches or thorns. SIZE HELP: I am a tall woman- 5'11". I wear a size 8 ring. I measured my hand as shown- it was 8 in. around with fingers closed and just under 8.5 with fingers open wide. I got size Small and they are perfect. I think this is a small man's size.
