Third time writing this review as the amazon app locks up when trying to upload a photo.... anyways. It's a great beginners bass. The workmanship is excellent for something that is 75 dollars. The paint is glossy, smooth with no orange peel. Looks professionally done. The neck is tight and doesn't tweak as the strings are tuned. The chrome plated finish on the hardware is blemish free and bright. The input jack is tight and does not wobble or crackle when the plug is attempted to be wobbled. The knobs are nice and tight and respond proportional to adjustments. The pickups look fine. I have a 14 year old Jackson js-1 dinky I bought new and hardly used. Ive recently decided to actually learn now, Hence the recent bass purchase to complement the jackson. Comparing the quality of the China bass side by side with the jackson, feels and plays like something you can pickup at a guitar store. The bag is flimsy so it's more like a dust cover. I would purchase a better bag if transport is desired regularly for protection. Have not tried the cable and strap yet but appear to be fine. Face it, at this price, your buying the bass, not the accessories. I am pleased to write this review as other reviews helped me decide on this purchase. I hope this helps someone. I'm not disappointed with it at all. I was not paid for my review and never have been.

I am an avid (though amateur) musician. I play a variety of stringed instruments (violin, acoustic guitar, uklele, and dulcimer) and a few others as well. I ordered this electric bass on a whim, and was happily surprised when it arrived. The packaging was not up to par- there was not much to cushion the instrument and I was worried I would open the package only to find the instrument broken. However, it was fully intact and beauifully- glossy, and of a good weight. It came with everything in the description- the cords and picks were inside of the case. Here’s a rundown on the accessories: Picks- standard, run of the mill, a nice bonus Strap- thin, and has the tendency to fall off of bass. I usually play while sitting, so its not much of an issue, but I would recommend buying a higher quality one if you want to perform with this bass Cords- sturdy, good quality Bag- not padded, thin plastic, lightweight, good for transportation Now, as many others have said, the wood is soft and will dent easily. For me, this wasn’t too much of a problem, as I intend to keep it inside (no traveling or anything with it). If you would want to travel, I’d suggest investing in a case with a little more padding. The head of bass is unfinished, but is a nice smooth wood. I ordered the blue color, but the blue doesn’t show up too much. It is a gorgeous instrument, however. It was incredibly easy to set up, and I was playing within twenty minutes. Highly recommend as a gift or for a beginner

Based on the previous review I knew this would take some tweaking to make it play well. Out of the box, the truss rod nut was fully tightened giving the neck some serious back bow, so as a result every note you played had fret buzz. I backed off the truss rod to give it the proper relief using the included allen wrench. The neck also had to be shimmed to achieve the right neck angle. Both of these adjustments took a grand total of about 10 minutes, and now this thing plays better than most $200 basses. Echoing the previous review, this thing is light as a feather and perfectly balanced... no neck dive on this one. The included accessories are just OK, but really that's to be expected with any "package deal". They will at least get you started with everything that's included. This bass plays so well, I probably will upgrade the pickup soon, although the stock one is fine, I would just like to hear it with some Seymour Duncan's in it. Definitely a great beginner bass as long as you or someone you know, knows how to do a proper setup, and a good backup bass for those who already have their primary, and are looking for something inexpensive, but not junk. UPDATE 11/14/16 So I ordered a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-Bass pickups https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002GKYZI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and took ten minutes to install, and were a perfect fit. This bass is now REALLY good, and for $70 for the stock bass and $60 for a tremendous pick up upgrade, I have a real sleeper of a bass for $130. Really enjoyable to play and went from sounding ok to amazing. Just wanted to report back that the pickguard handles aftermarket pickups well without modification.

Having been someone who always wanted to get into bass, this bass was a good option given my family's pickiness over money and the hobbies I tend to take up. When first opening the package, the bass itself was in it's bag, wrapped in bubble wrap. All the tools included we're inside of the bag sleeve, so I didnt have to expect to look for more inside. Hooking up to an amp and tuning, it was quite noticable that there was a lot of fret buzz, and me being me, I didn't really know what to do, so I instead changed the action instead of truss rod. I later found out, it was the truss rod, and it just needed very little tweaking before that fret buzz was completely gone, something most people can probably do within less than 5 minutes. The pickups on this bass are rather good for it's price. Obviously they aren't going to the best, but they do their job, and as far as I'm concerned, they do their job well. The strings seemed fine, but I'm no expert, so if you're picky on that stuff, change the strings right away. I noticed a huge difference when I changed my original strings after they broke (approximately 4 months after receiving the bass), much more clean and well defined strumming. If you're wondering if this is good for slap, I'd say yes. Tweak the action to your preferred height, and boom; Marcus Miller. No haha, but the tone control does an especially excellent job when it comes to slapping. Overall, from someone who's been playing for about 7 months now, this bass is a good buy for it's price. A lot of people assume you need to buy a super expensive bass if you want to sound good, but more than most of it comes from the player themself (though a pickup upgrade on this would make it better, arguably). I would recommend it to anyone starting on bass. Hell, even my teacher who's been playing music all his life said this was a nice bass for the price.

I know nothing about bass guitars, but this one was cheap enough fro my beginner 11 yo. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that is looked REALLY nice and sounded good too - right out of the box. It's almost hard to believe they can sell this guitar for only $70. You can't go wrong at this price. My daughter loves the guitar. She has been playing violin for 4 years and wanted to try something different. Even she was impressed with the guitar. The only complaint, and it is minor, is the guitar actually appears to be black. If you look real close you can see some blue inlay but it is very faint. The neck is actually a really light wood the has a light maple color. I would buy again.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband because he wants to learn to play bass. Overall a good bass, just requires a proper setup. Truss bar needed to be adjusted, saddles needed adjusting, strings are good quality (though he did snap one while tuning it LOL). He took it to a local guitar store and they adjusted everything for him, and it plays nicely with no more buzzing. I expected a lesser quality for the price, but didn't want to purchase a more expensive one for him to learn on. The product greatly exceeds our expectations.

I bought this because it was cheaper than renting a bass while traveling. For $75, you get an okay bass, but you'd better know how to set it up. The pickup covers needed gluing, the nut grooves, intonation and string height all needed adjustment, and the ends of the frets had to be filed, as they scratched my fretting hand. As some others have written, this bass can (and should be) easily upgraded with better strings, better pickups, etc., and it comes out of the box with all the basic accessories you need. If you bought a $200 entry level Squier or Ibanez, you'd need to spend $50 or more for these accessories. On the other hand, that might be a better choice if you need a playable instrument right out the box.

I love it! For a beginner player i really do recommend this bass, when you first get it out of the box you will have to adjust the truss rod as it will make lots of buzzing,The tool is included which Is cool. Now for advanced players this bass will need some improvements one of them being the pickups, they're good quality and do their job but im pretty sure you can get a way better sound with some new ones , I personally havent changed them since im only using it for practice. Also the wood work from inside the pick guard is really poor but i mean hey you do get for what you paid for, and electronics are in good condition. Overall this bass is great im glad i made this purchase !!

I can't believe I got a decent bass for $70. I bought this to learn using Rocksmith 2014 Real Tone Cable Trilingual. Rocksmith has a tuner built into it so that takes care of that. I read the other reviews that said this bass definitely needs to be setup to sound and play correctly. Sure enough, out of the box the bass was playable but my fingers got tired quickly because the action was set so high off the fret board. And there was a twangy, buzz if you strummed the string to play even moderately loud. So, I perused around Amazon and found a pretty cheap little collection of tools to get everything setup on the bass guitar correctly. The bass comes with it's own truss rod tool and bridge height adjust tool so that's taken care of. You'll need a capo to help set the truss rod, Guitar Picks Guitar Capo Quick Change Acoustic Guitar Accessories Trigger Capo Key Clamp Black With Free 6 Pcs Guitar Picks. A feeler gauge with both .015 and .022 width thickness, ABN Universal SAE and Metric Master Feeler Gauge 26-Piece Blade Tool for Measuring Gap Width / Thickness. A ruler that accurately measures between 3/32 and 4/32 of an inch (.093 - .125 of an inch), Pixnor String Action Ruler Gauge Tool for Guitar Bass . And a set of grinding files of the appropriate width to file down the fret nut saddle, ammoon Guitar Fret Nut Saddle Slot Pickguard Grinding File Group Set Luthier Repair Tool 10pcs in 1 Set. I just followed along with some online setup guides and was able to set it up on my own in about an hour and a half. For me, I found the truss rod was pretty loose. The bridge height action was set at just over 4/32's on all four strings when really just the top, 4th string needs to be at 4/32. The smaller the string the lower the action needs to be set till the bottom string is at around 3/32. I actually needed to set mine just a bit above 3/32 since it would rattle if I put it right on there. Probably some better strings would let me adjust the height for tighter tolerances. And I had to grind a good bit of material away from the fret nut saddle to bring it down to .022 of an inch. The string length also needed to be tightened just a bit to get the intonation just right. After everything got set this bass guitar turned into a really nice sounding guitarra that plays a clean, mellow note. And the string action became very quick and effortless, which my hand was much grateful of. Basically it's like from the factory it was set to just being acceptable and everything just needed those last few twists of the screws to tighten everything up to right where it needed to be. Now I'm plucking away to songs on Rocksmith and having a great ole' time. It takes a little bit of work to get it there, but once it's setup properly this guitar is a tremendous value.

I have a squire fretless, five string and a Washburn 5. I needed to get that P-Bass sound for rock and just general jamming. So I figured of course to look here. I read every review and stuck with the least expensive o could find. It paid off on this bass guitar. Right out of the box, it is playable!!!! Of course the truss rod is destressed for shipping but 8 1/4 turns and the best action For rock I could ask for. Needs a little more set up but not much. The wood on the neck has a raw feel and I love it! The deep blue burst is moody. The strings are I would say are medium heavy. They play and sound fantastic. Classic precision bass sound and smooth as silk with a nice growl. I’m very pleased with this bass. I really could not want for more .
