I am using this on my Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet, 12 Inch and the handle fit is almost perfect. I love being able to keep this on the handle while I am cooking and being able to pick up my cast iron skillet without having to hassle and find pot holders. It is a great deal and something I have been trying to find (inexpensively) for awhile. I love AmazonBasics stuff.

I have a large Lodge Logic iron skillet I love, but I have to use two oven mitts to lift it. That's price of solid iron and a weak wrist. With this handle cover, I can now move it between burners or to the sink far more easily. I can use one hand because of the good grip this hand provides. PROS: Stays on while cooking. Instantly handle your pan whenever you want. Comes in black! CONS: Could be a little thicker when the skillet is very hot. It did not hurt my hands even when the skillet had been on high for some time, but it was very warm. I leave it on the whole time. SUMMARY: A MUST HAVE FOR AN IRON SKILLET!!!

Got this because my pan handles would get hot when I put the pan in the oven (go figure, right?). And once I take the pan out of the oven, some part of my brain forgets the handle is very very hot. And since I've taken off the pot holder, I have no reminder. Slip this thing on and not only does it remind me that the handle is hot, but it keeps me from burning my hand. I might buy these in red next time, though (red = hot).

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve grabbed the handle of my cast-iron skillet forgetting that it didn’t have a protection on it. I bought this pretty spontaneously not really paying attention to any sizes, I still actually don’t even know if they come in different sizes but I assume they do. It is a little loose but I like it like that so I can wash it easily, and it is not struggle to get on and off... but it stays on and doesn’t come off unless I pull it. So I actually like it like that.

The main reason for this purchase was to keep my husband from leaving a dish towel hanging on the handle of the iron skillet while it's still on the cooktop. It's a slightly loose fit on the small skillet, but the inner ridges and bumpy outer grip make for a non-slip grip. Safety is always important, but it's no longer a major concern in my kitchen.

I keep this near the stove to use with my cast iron pans. They work great to allow me to hold the handle without fear of being burned or having to use a hot pad. You cannot keep them on the handle because they will start to heat up. So when frying an egg for example, I have to slide it on and off every time I need to hold the pan to flip or remove the egg. This is not the fault of the product. Cast iron gets hot!!

Protects my hands from burning while using my cast iron skillet. Easily transfers between 3 different sized pans. It is a bit lose but this doesn't bother me as I do not lift or pull on my pans when they're hot on the stove. If pulling out of the oven, I tend to squeeze the handle and use a 2nd hot pad so that the grip doesn't come off the handle. I use this handle with the Ozark Trail 3 Piece Cast Iron Skillet set - 8" skillet, 10.5" skillet and 12" skillet.

I just treated myself to a multifunction enameled cast iron set...a saucepan with a little skillet that doubles as a lid. These silicone handle covers help protect my hand when I grip the handles. This means I don’t always need to use a dish towel or potholder. However, they protect only to a point, so you still have to be careful when it’s time to grip hard to lift and empty the pan or skillet.

You HAVE to have this if you use your cast iron or carbon steel fry pans in the oven. If you don't believe me, you will after the first time you absent-mindedly grab one, either in the oven, or just after getting it out. It is also a safety precaution for others in the kitchen working or serving who may not realize the vessel is very hot. I got a few of them so all the fry pans in use in the meal preparation can be shielded.

Exactly what I needed for my cast iron. Slips off and on easily so I can use it to stabilize the pan while cooking as well as use it to move the pan to the counter or table. Clearly, do not leave it on your pan as it cannot handle high heat for long but mine has done fine on the gas stove top for a few minutes while I'm cooking.
