I LOVE this little machine! I purchased this for a one-week trip for which I only had an 18L pack holding all my stuff - clothes, toiletries, laptop, etc. I always sleep with a white noise machine at home and did not know what the noise situation was going to be like where I was going. I am very easily woken by sound, so while a white noise machine may seem like a good item to cut when traveling light, that was not an option for me. Enter this wee little "fan" that not only has great white noise sound options, but also gets very loud (considering it's size) and also has bluetooth! I used this every night and slept great. It is nice that the sound is very directional. I am very sensitive to repetitive sound and cannot use the looped white noise recordings. This is not like that, it really sounds like a fan-operated white noise machine (there are other non-fan sounds as well like vacuuming and even some nature sounds - the ocean wave one is really nice for day time white noise - and they similarly do not have the "looped" effect). There is a good selection of "white noises" so my guess is you'll probably find at least one or two that will work well for you. I also used the bluetooth feature to play music during the day. The speaker is loud enough that I could easily hear my music from multiple rooms in an otherwise quiet house. The battery life is pretty good too - I charged it daily but I was using it a lot during the day for music and all night for white noise. This is a fantastic value for what you get, and I would highly recommend it as a travel white noise machine/bluetooth speaker combo. I look forward to getting to use it again on my next trip!

Update 2 (9/20/17): we contacted the company directly and they sent us a brand new fan right away! They apologized for the inconvenience and were very customer-oriented. We LOVE these fans! Update: we received this fan less than 2 months ago and the sound button is broken. We can't turn up the volume no matter how hard we push. I'm contacting the company as it supposedly has a 1 year warranty; hopefully they'll be customer-oriented. We have 2 large lectro fans for both our kids' rooms and I got this to take with us in the diaper bag. It's so great! Love that there are different sounds to choose from, and it's so handy to turn into a speaker, all our friends want one too! It's plenty loud or quiet and subtle when you need it to be! So glad they came out with this micro version!

This is a great product. I already had a Sound and Sleep Mini (which I also love) by the same company but wanted something more portable. This fit the bill. It absolutely lasts all night and then some without being plugged in. The sounds are good and plenty loud. I didn't come close to turning the volume all the way up. The sounds are: 5 different fan noises, 1 ocean, and 4 white noises as follows: (2 brown noise, 1 pink noise, 1 white noise). This thing is really tiny, perfect for hardly taking up any room in your luggage. The bluetooth works fine, though I don't imagine I will use that feature very often. But it's a great feature to have available. The product can be left plugged in all the time, or you can charge it up and unplug it for many, many hours of use. (This would be perfect for an overnight tent camping.) And one final thing--the customer service department at this company is great and very helpful with any questions, concerns, etc.

I have tinnitus and need something to mask the sound. I have a fan but when it's cold the fan isn't feasible. Also I have been using my phone when I travel but I'd rather not. Sometimes the phone overheats and shuts off. Also the apps on the is annoying. This little device is wonderful. It has just the right sound and I can put it right next to my bed. I keep it plugged in but I can put it anywhere. It will be great travelling because it is so small. I bought the case too. I bought the larger one so that I can put the plug in too. It's still small and everything fits in. I can't tell you how much I love this. I can also use even when I'm not sleeping to mask the tinnitus. Hope this helps. I just paired to my phone. Great Bluetooth speaker to listen to music or phone calls

This is a great little sound machine. I have ringing in my ears some nights it is impossible for me to sleep without white noise. I like that it is tiny and takes up very little space on my night stand. The sound is so much better than the one I bought at a store that looked like a conference call phone. It has the same charging cord as my Samsung phone so I charge the sound machine during the day and my phone at night. I can usually get 2-3 nights on a single charge. Pros: - Tiny - Multiple options - Better quality - Charge lasts 2-3 nights after a full charge Cons - Comes with a short charging cord - If you do not press and hold the volume buttons, it changes the tone of the white noise

A few reviewers have dinged this product because of reliability issues over the long term. I've had my 'LectroFan Mini for only a few days, so I can't speak to that — but I will rave that my initial impressions are fantastic. As others have commented, the white noise this device produces truly is randomized, so there's absolutely no looping. (A lot of other manufacturers falsely claim "no looping," I've found.) It's also super-compact, which is important to this ultra-light traveler ... and yet the sounds it produces are rich and powerful enough to drown out my neighbor's 90-decibel sneezes and the random traffic on my street. I also love that it produces only white noise, at various pitches and frequencies, so it's easy to find one that masks the particular sounds in your environment. For my purposes (trying to get a good night's sleep), this is so much more useful than some of the other machines that offer 30 random sounds like "deranged crickets," "creepy heartbeat," "hungry locust swarm," and — yes — even "people talking at a Starbucks." In short: So far this is the best sound machine I've ever used, hands down. I hope it will hang in there over the long run, but even if it only lasts me a few months I wouldn't hesitate to buy another because of how much better I'm sleeping.

This is a great travel size and packs in a corner of my suitcase. The little guy puts out sufficient sound to drown out other ambient noise and is simple to operate and to recharge. Recharging takes quite a while, so if you are touring and don't have a lot of time to recharge it during the day, be sure to bring a longer cord (very commonly found micro-USB cable) and a charger to run it the next night. I wish that LectroSound offered other sounds besides industrial fans - like flowing water or rainfall - but they don't. I'll take a small packing size over sound choices any day!

As anyone who uses a sound machine will tell you, the quality of the sound is so important and a bad sound machine has a discernible pattern, or clicking or ringing sound or loop which your brain will focus on and will annoy you all night long. I always get nervous traveling with my nice machine (480) because it is rather large and I worry it will break; It also takes up ton of space in my luggage. I have tried many and am always on the search for something better. I saw this LectroFan on Amazon, read the reviews and ordered it. It exceeds every expectation in every way: * It is very compact * The quality of the sound is amazing - and, there are many variations of sounds to choose from if you like deep tones or higher pitch * volume is adjustable - from very loud to very soft * Rechargeable battery - runs all night, easily, on a battery charge - I barely charged it for one hour and it ran all night The only design flaw I can see if the very short USB plug; and, you need to plug it into a USB; there is no AC plug, but it's a minor flaw. The cord could be longer as it is barely 8" and doesn't stretch far. This little dynamo now replaces my large expensive machine.

I am editing my review of this product - you will see why I originally gave it one star below. HOWEVER, I emailed the manufacturer and they, without hesitation, sent me a new LectroFan and a label to mail back the one that stopped working. I had my new sound machine in two days. It is a really great product especially for travel and I recommend it and am hoping that my new one will continue to work! Old review: I would have given this wonderful little white noise machine five stars. It is lightweight, great for travel and has a variety of sounds at good volume. Just seemed like a great product and I recommended it to friends and family. HOWEVER, two months after I received it and used it three times, it is absolutely dead. Will not recharge and is useless. So disappointed.

I have slept with a fan in the background for the last 20+ years. I got very particular about my fan preferences too. For the longest time I used the Honeywell small floor model. The last time I bought one I got home to find the box read in bold letter, “Now 25% quieter!” I was furious! You couldn’t hear it al all. I wrote the company to see if they had and old models I could buy but had no luck. I wound up finding this fan from a pawn store that worked for a while but it was huge. I was taking a trip from my home near Wilmington NC to Louisville KY to visit family & friends. I had no way to get the enormous fan with me so I turned to Amazon for help. I found this little noise machine and decided to give it a shot. It took me a few tries to get the top to flip open (the trick is to hold the black base and spin the silver speaker half and it pops right up). Once I found my favorite fan I tried it out. I was shocked! It sounded exactly like my old fan. I thought it may sound like a recording but it doesn’t. Just a clear crisp low fan hum. When I got home from my trip, the fan went into storage and I now sleep with this mighty little sound machine every night. The best part is, if you need to travel for work or pleasure, this little beauty fits right in your bag or even your purse (it’s that small) and you’ll never have to sleep in a silent hotel room again. I guarantee it’ll wind up next to your bed at home when you get back. It also works on a charge so if the power goes out (I’m in hurricane territory so it happens a lot) you still get your fan sound while every one else has to go without. I’ll be a customer for life!
