A Very Handy Disk

Bought this to help with my hobby of rebuilding old computers for charities. It works well. Having those networking drivers in it is quite valuable because one thing I have to do is get on the intrernet to pick up all the updates Microsoft has released. In the case of Windows 7, that is a big number. No matter what version of the program was originally on the computer, this disk can restore it and I can validate it from the license on the conmputer case.

Few years back I took advantage of the "Free" download for Windows 10 that was designed to install on top of my Windows 7 64 bit desktop. After six months of disgust with Win 10 I tried to delete it.. No Deal.. could not be reset to Win-7. I tried everything I could think of.. no go... I.was stuck with it. I thought about tossing the computer in the dumpster (that's how much I hate Win 10) instead I put it in the closet to use next summer for a boat anchor. Then I found this program and decided to take a chance, it's less than $20 and I've thrown that much away on burgers and fries, so whaddaheck, I took a chance. ... FANDANGTASTIC..!!! .... THANK YOU ... THANK YOU. There is only one drawback to the programs on the disc, they will not get rid of Windows 10 and allow Window 7 to come back. I tried several times with both the 64 bit and 32 bit.. neither would install over win 10. But I solved that problem easy enough.. I simply replaced the hard drive ($39 from Amazon) and VOILA !!! ... Win-7 back up and running great.. Now I have a brand new computer just like the day I bought it. Of course I had to spend the day installing all the programs and data I had on the original hard drive, but that's no big deal. A can of beer and bowl of popcorn and about 8 hours of fun.. I highly recommend this disc for re-installing the original operating system on your computer.. I read some comments where folks had problems with windows being invalid.. I had no problem with that, I simply followed the instructions on each screen as they came up and after everything was installed I went to the control panel and clicked on "SYSTEM" and at the bottom of the screen I clicked "Verify Windows" (or something like that) and entered the Product Code from the sticker on side of computer case.. about sixty seconds later I got the message my win-7 32 bit install was legal. NOTE: the very first program I installed was the WIFI dongle to connect me to the internet. On the "Ten Scale" I'm guessing Eric is a 10 when it comes to computers.. I am about a 7 and I had no problems after changing out the hard drive.. PLEASE people ... follow instructions and you will have fewer problems. Thanks Eric, NevadaJohn

This disc saved my laptop!

Some of my system files somehow became corrupted on my laptop, and it wouldn't start anymore. I couldn't find the recovery disc I made in the past, and since it was an older computer, I couldn't order a recovery kit either. This disc came with easy to follow step-by-step installation instructions. It even had network drivers so that I could get online fast. It was an absolute lifesaver. I am up and running again!

Outstanding Quality and Value

Although I have purchased many Amazon products I have limited the few reviews I have authored to truly unique or exceptional products. My only disappointment, in this case, is that I cannot give this seller more than 5 stars! I'm an experienced Windows user and I enjoy helping friends with their inevitable Windows problems. In this case, I was troubleshooting a system that had become "irreparably" corrupted and whose owner had lost her installation media and whose System Recovery options were inaccessible. I did some searching on Amazon for repair products and found this item along with MANY competitive offerings. I chose this particular seller because the description seemed remarkably complete and well written but frankly was still a bit skeptical especially considering its low price. It arrived quickly and I was extremely impressed with its accompanying illustrated step by step instructions (comprehensible and usable by even the most novice Windows user) which themselves along with the information on the seller's website are an absolute treasure trove of useful troubleshooting information. In addition, the seller provides free same day tech support if necessary through the Amazon Message Center! The disk worked flawlessly and repaired her system completely. I have rarely been more pleased and satisfied with the value of an Amazon purchase and wholeheartedly recommend this product without any reservations whatsoever.

Great product.

I used this disc, and even though I was not able to get my ASUS laptop back to where it was before, I realize that I have a hardware issue that this disc cannot fix. But, this disc is everything as billed. Instructions come with it so the lowest computer simpleton can use it.!! :) I'd recommend it.

I was in a total panic because a virus snuck into my computer... I ordered this disc but didn't follow the instructions verbatim. When I reached out to the sellar he literally provided FREE support for twelve hours until my software was properly installed! The best customer service I've had in a long time!

Bought this reinstall disk to repair several Optiplex computers. The Disk did everything He said they would. Even down to the instructions on how to get the Network adapter up and running. Pretty simple, If you can't follow this guys directions, you shouldn't be working on a computer.

Worked on my PC

Worked out good for me so far. I had a corrupted factory loaded win 7 hard drive from almost the start but then took a lightning hit a wiped out half my hard drive and the registry. I thought I had a back up factory restore disk for win 7 but it was a factory boot dist from a vista PC that I still have and works. So I reformatted my hard drive and wiped out the backup boot on the same hard drive that was corrupted which I don't think was there anyway because I never saw it show up in explorer. So I called Tech support for hopefully to get a win 7 disk which the tech I spoke with wanted to try the backup on the hard drive. I told him I reformatted it and it won't be there and I needed the disk. He said if it comes to that we will get you the media you need but the charge would be $100 because it was out of warranty. I told him to take it where the sun doesn't shine. I'm on a fixed income and can't pay that amount. Especially from a supposed out dated program. Found this disk and saw it was rated high by many people so I took a chance on it. Since I had already formatted the hard drive and loaded a couple of programs on Vista that wouldn't load on my old win 7, I decided to try the upgrade. It worked out but had to loose the programs I loaded in vista BUT it still worked out great because I was able to reload them on this Win 7. I was able to restore both of my 2 email accounts, printer software, a corrupted program than now works properly and a paintshop program that works. I had to go through a lot of trial and error but took blow by blow notes that I will try to get to the owner. Still have a lot of things to load that I had backed up on a 1 TB drive and haven't checked the sound yet. But so far so good and when I am finished I'll try to give an update.

Disc worked for me, started with Windows 7, updated to Windows 10, after several updates, decided I didn't like the new Windows so I tried to revert back to earlier version of Windows, got stuck in blue screen... OS restored and I got my pics and files back which makes this CD priceless!

Wow! Got my machine back.

One of my old laptops -Sony Vaio- HDD crashed. My OS recovery disks wouldn't work due to some driver issue. Then I found this pearl. New HDD installed, inserted this recovery disk and, ... voila! OS installed like new. You will also find a great utility 3DP_net on the disk, it will install the network drivers for you. Windows updates and Sony drivers can be now downloaded from their sites. Simple and flawless. And much cheaper than the computer repair guys.
