Pretty good controller
I got this controller with the Windows 10 adapter so that I can play my computer games with an Xbox One controller. The controller itself is just an ordinary Xbox controller, nothing special. The adapter is nice because it enables the computer to read the input from the controller without any wires. Setup was easy. I just installed the batteries, turned the controller on, inserted the wireless adapter into the computer, pushed the sync button on the controller for 3 seconds, then push the sync button on the adapter. Boom, done! I had a Steam controller but it was just mediocre. The touchpads on it were too sensitive and there were tons of games that did not support it. But this controller excels where the Steam controller fails!

Lucky?
I was highly reluctant to buy this after reading all the reviews but decided what did I have to lose especially since I'm getting the warranty. I'm glad I did. Mine came as though it was bought from the store. If it is used or refurbished, it's hard to tell because it works like it's brand new. Maybe I was lucky, lol. I say take a chance and at least buy a warranty in case you don't get a good controller the first time. **UPDATE** It's January 21, exactly 3 months after my original review. The controller is still working just fine. It has been dropped a few times but still works. The buttons and joysticks snap back into to place. I will do another update in 3 months! It's July 3rd, nearly 9 months later and still not a still complaint!

The best gamepad for a PC
I have a gaming PC hooked up to my TV for relaxing gaming (ie I'd rather using a wireless controller for convenience vs using a wired gaming mouse to get better performance). This lets me using the ubiquitous Xbox one controller wirelessly with my various games. Thus I can play Madden, Forza, FAr Cry etc... like I'm on a console, but with a 1080TI. Anyway, it's plug and play, and it works with any Xbox One controller. The dongle is much more compact that what they used to use, and performance is solid. Supposedly this won't work on WIndows 8 or 7. I cannot verify, but it works great on Windows 10 Pro.

Bluetooth does connect automatically!
EDIT: Previously in this review I claimed that you have to reconnect blu tooth manually every time you turn on your controller, that is actually false! All you have to do is wait about 10 seconds for your controller to connect itself automatically. If 10 seconds is too long to wait then just plug it in or spend the 30 seconds to manually reconnect, I guess. Lovely controller, the first one i've ever bought for myself and i'm glad I spent the extra money as opposed to taking a used one from a friend or buying one of the older xbox models. As for why i'd recommend this? The matte surface feels impeccable, your hands won't slip or feel greasy when you're really sweating up a storm at that intense video game (and when the controller vibrates it feels nicer in my opinion lol). The layout of the joysticks, dpad and buttons also is more roomy which makes it much harder to accidentally bump into the wrong thing + just feels nicer in general. It has a nice sturdy feeling build with a bit of weight that only makes it easier to handle. Overall i'm enamored with this product and even if it is a bit more pricey it works, feels and looks great. If you have the extra change i'd totally give it a shot.

Did not plug and play easily. The quick solution to get it running wirelessly ...
Did not plug and play easily. The quick solution to get it running wirelessly is to go to the controller in Device Manager and choose the option to search and update driver from the internet. Other than that, the controller is awesome. Works great with Windows gaming. I don’t own an Xbox console, so I can’t review for that.

Works like a charm on PC
Super easy to get to work on PC! 1) put some batteries in and turn on 2) use the wire to plug into PC for the first time (it'll auto install drivers that way) 3) click your bluetooth icon on PC and connect device. 4) done! I finally switched over from a wired 360 controller just because i am tight on usb ports on my laptop and wanted more options. I can still run this wired if need be but its nice not having too! *sidenote* I have medium gloved hands and noticed this feels kind of small compared even to 360 controller. Hasn't really affected performance as I only play certain games with controller (I think mouse and keyboard is still more responsive) 10/10 happy with purchase

best windows controller i have used.
Works great with both xbox and pc wireless and no additional purchase required since it also supports bluetooth. Pretty much plug and play. It is a Microsoft product, and if you buy from Amazon you can return it if it is defective or have some damage in shipping of course. Just glancing though the reviews that seemed to be an issue in some cases. This is a high quality controller with a ton of versatility. it has a replaceable battery so you aren't locked in like Sony. you can buy high quality Li-on batteries after market for minimal cost. I have a ps4, and an Xbox. Over my years I have used many controllers, for pc, game consoles etc. To be honest those two platforms have the best controllers by a wide margin. They never fail, and they work great. Basically they last forever. If I had to choose between the two i'd pick xbox because of the pc versatility, and replaceable battery. it truly is a great controller. You can look at this as a long term investment. So of my favorite controllers, in comparing sony to this controller the reason i'd recommend this is they make the battery replacement easier.

Solid controller, especially for Steam and other PC games
I have a Steam controller, but it is not always appropriate for the type of game I'm playing at the time. The right thumb pad can either be too sensitive or not track well at all despite my determined and constant tweaking of all the settings. The Steam controller is great for slow-paced FPS/TPS games, but it isn't so great for certain ported console games. So I purchased this updated Xbox controller. The textured grip, sticks, buttons, and heft are spot on. It also works well with Steam, especially in Big Picture mode. Using the included USB cable, it can be used without batteries. Pop in two AAs, though, and it can be connected via Bluetooth with no perceivable latency or lag. Also, through some sort of Microsoft wizardry, I can connect my Bluetooth headphones at the same time and go completely wireless. All of this is done with a good 10 feet of distance between my TV and couch. The 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, which is also a nice feature, only works when using the USB cable, if you're wondering. My only gripe is that it doesn't feature internal and rechargeable batteries, like Sony's PS3 and PS4 controllers, but neither does the Steam controller and the battery life is decent enough. I highly recommend!

Plug-&-play for PC and Bluetooth brought me here.
Still pretty new to getting this 4N6-00001 Xbox Controller with Windows Cable, so will follow up with a performance update if needed. Feels nice and sturdy. I do not have an Xbox One and the last time I played an up-to-date Xbox console was 2013, so my review is going to be focused on the PC side of things. I picked this controller over other budget controllers for PC because I wanted something that will last and can withstand up to action/intense gaming while still delivering quality results. Since Microsoft makes Xbox and they need durable console controllers, was a no brainier. Pros: - Cable can be used to plug-and-play on Windows 10 with no problem. Have not double-checked if any drivers need updated. If they do, runs nice out of box. - If you just use the cable to connect to PC, you don't need the batteries. I kid you not, and still haven't installed any. - Instructions say it is Bluetooth compatible (Xbox link on packaging says only for Windows 10 and certain Android devices) and also works on Xbox One. - Sturdy controller construction and feel. Currently withstood about 10-15 hours of total action gaming time and seems durable. - Has an audio jack (have not tested) - Has not slipped while holding it at all during my few hour gaming session. After all, had to test it for extended game play, comfort, and durability. - USB cable is 8 ft long. This is a huge, huge plus right there. - I do not find the light from the Xbox logo distracting while gaming (I know this has been a frequent complaint with other light-logo or LED PC controllers). Cons: - The D-pad is only 4-directional. I know some prefer a round pad that allows for an 8-directional navigation, but I think this D-pad is standard on Xbox controllers - Usually I have more cons for products, but I can't think of any right now. Currently very satisfied with this purchase.
