Here are the "good" and "bad" on this product. . . 1. The price is fantastic. A timer for $6. . 2. The construction is heavy plastic. It is very rugged. . 3. The size is smaller than the company's standard timer. . 4. There are 48 possible half hour settings to select. . . DISADVANTAGES . 1. The length of each setting is a half hour. The company's standard product is bigger, and each setting is 15 minutes.

Already had a pair of timers with no grounding. Realized my lights for my plant nursery have a third prong. *grumble grumble grumble* These work exactly the same as the two-prong ones. A little stiff at first, the switches, but they work just fine. I plan to use these for my christmas lights in December and then for my plant lights in March. ^_^

For anyone thinking of posting a negative review... please, contact the manufacturer first like I did at support AT centurytimer DOT com (their email address and phone number are included in the instructions that come with the timer). Also, check out the youtube video they made detailing how to use the timer... just go to youtube's website and enter the model number BND-60/U47 and it will pop right up - super helpful :) And for heaven's sake, don't do what I did and just assume that looking at the video is enough ! :P Read the instructions that go with it too , the instructions and video combined will be enough to get you up and running and if there's a problem with the timers the manufacturer will make it right (see below) ... for example I didn't know (until I emailed their support staff) that the black part of the timer was for the hours 12pm to 12am while the white part of the timer is for 12am to 12pm - which I would have known if I'd simply read the instructions! One other tip - I found with some of the timers it's best to slide the switch on the side upwards to the "on" position when resetting or adjusting the timer then sliding it back to the "down" position or else the pins may "stick". Also, pay attention to the part of the instructions stating that you need to raise ALL the pins back up before making any changers to the timer. Again, read the entire instruction booklet (I know i know most of us can't be bothered to read the instructions myself included at first :P .. but do so, you'll be glad you did :) ) First set of timers ... one of the two timers for the life of me just did not like my surge protector ! And at first I thought the timers were not keeping proper track of time (later I realized I might have just simply not been following the instructions properly) .. No idea why the timers don't "like" the one surge protector but here's where their amazing customer service comes in ... I just emailed them, explained the problem, gave them my amazon order number.. and they quickly, promptly sent out a replacement set of timers just like that, brand new, for free, without even asking for the old timers back .... that and I found they respond VERY quickly to emails sent to them, like within one day at the most.. overall I'd say the customer service from century is great compared to much larger, very profitable organizations I could name here (but won't, against amazon's policy apparently) who don't take care of their customers in the way that century does. So kudos to them for that :) Both replacement timers are working great and very reliable , been using them for a week now with no problem :) .. actually I find even the old timers that I thought were defective have been working great for the past few days with the lamps I plugged them into just for the heck of it to see if it was a screw-up on my part somehow for not following the instructions properly at first which very well might have been the case :( .... very embarrassing on my part, I will be emailing century again and offering to pay for the second set of timers in case it was just plain old stupidity on my part :( ... (EDIT AND UPDATE - Century got back to me immediately, like within hours of my email ... compare that to other companies that take days to respond assuming they respond at all ! ... and told me not to worry about it and to just keep the extra timers free of charge... very kind of them ! :) ) In my case I use the replacement timers I was mailed for usb powered laptop coolers that I am using to cool my Direct TV DVR related equipment, again, works great ! I'm pretty good about updating my reviews so if you see this same review even years later assume the timers are still working great without any problems :) ANOTHER EDIT : Forgot to mention two things: 1) note the piece of paper included in your package that gives a website to register your timer at ... make sure to register the timers within 7 days of receiving the product to get the 15 month warranty on it 2) I mentioned sliding the switch at the side to the "up" position when pushing the pins back up in order to reset them.. make sure you slide the switch (it's on the right side of the timer) back to the "down" position so the timer works again (that is, works in that it turns your device on and off during the times you want it to... if you leave it in the "up" position you're basically telling the timer not to bother turning your device on and off ... which is a handy feature sometimes but I'm guessing if you have a timer attached to your device you want your device turning on and off at specific times :P ) One additional observation.. don't get me wrong, I'm not calling the other reviewers "liars" by any means... but I'm really confused when people say they have a hard time with the pins, they have to use a pen or pincers to adjust the pins, et cetera... my great big clumsy man sized fingers have no problems at all with the pins :P ... though I guess I could see if you have a wide variety of times during which you want the timers on and off (like say on from 3 to 3:30 pm, off from 3:30pm to 6pm, on from 6pm to 12am, off from 12am to 1am, back on from 1am to 6am, and so forth) and you need to have multiple pins in the up and down position as a result you might need a bit of finesse to work with the pins but even then I think fingers and fingernails (to hook under a particular pin to pull it back up) would be just fine or that was my experience in any case. In our case we generally have half of the timer dial set to the "off " position and the other half set to the "on" position which makes setting the timer very easy (lamps turn on in the night off in the day, laptop cooler fans on in the day off in the wee hours of the night). Basically, I didn't run into the problem with the pins that others are describing :) ..

I love these timers and use them to control grow lights. They do tend to float around a bit and need to be readjusted every few weeks but other than that they are solid, for LED lights at least.

We somehow misplaced our timers and of course I discovered this when we were decorating our house for Christmas a couple months ago! I decided to check on here since I couldn't find any in the stores at the time and came upon these. They seemed like a good price for two so we decided to give them a chance. These indoor timers worked really well for our Christmas tree and suited our needs perfectly! This box comes with two 24-hour, INDOOR timers. The timers have three prongs in the back and are designed to accommodate electrical plugs with three prongs on the front. They measure about three inches tall, two inches long, and about one inch wide. These are 24-hour timers and there are lots of little black pins that represent half-hour intervals. There is a white switch on the side that can be used to override the timer so the lights stay on all the time. The information from the box states these are compatible with household CFL bulbs and are energy saving. I included pictures taken of the box so you can see the features and specifications. The timers worked perfectly for us over the Christmas season! We only used one this time but I'm sure we will use the other one at some point. The timers are smaller than other ones we've used but that is also nice when you don't want a timer sticking out like a sore thumb. The one thing with the timers is that you have to push down the black pins for when you want the lights on. If they are up, they are off. If they are down, they are on. Set the current time using the green arrow. Once you have that figured out, they are easy to use! There were a few days when we wanted the lights on all day so I used the override switch, turned it to "on" and the lights stayed on until I switched it back to the timer again. Overall, these were a great purchase to use during the Christmas season. They are easy to use, affordable, a decent size, and we didn't have any issues. They can only be used inside so make sure you consider that before purchasing them. As long as these hold up nicely, we will use these for years when we need them. If anything happens that makes me change my mind about giving five stars, I will update this review. We haven't had any issues and I highly recommend them!

I ordered the "Century Indoor 24-hr Timer 2 pack" from Amazon the 1st timer the clock (timer) never moved tried different electric outlets & after 4 hrs still was on the same time, the 2nd one the clock part moved so after I set it up per instructions very easy to do (like most other timers) it came to the part where it is to turn on the light & just stopped it was at that point for the next 4 hrs. it was like it didn't have enough power to get past the "on pins" to turn it on , I returned both units to Amazon & ordered a different brand of timer, on the positive side the Century timers were well boxed instructions very clear & timers are small & appear to be well built at least on the outside. 1/23/2019 Product Revision. The company offered to replace my 2 defective timers at no cost to me, and after I received & tested the replacements they both work perfect! anyone can get defective things no matter what BUT when you have a great company that stands behind their product that's what really matters, Kudos to Century Products California for their prompt warranty service.

Love love love these mini 3 prong timers! First of all, they take up a small imprint on your outlet, super easy setup and comes with very clear instructions and lastly, there's no lighted dial which is great for light photosensitive plants for total dark periods. Matter of fact, I like these so well that I just purchased 2 more!

The pins arrive in the on/down position. Once we figured that out, and flipped up the pins we wanted for the "off" times, these worked perfectly. We have snowflakes with lights in our front windows and these prevent us from having to plug and unplug multiple lights each day during the holidays.

Excellent quality. Definitely recommend. One small tip: When I first received them I thought there was a defect because I couldn't push the pins down. However, the problem was simply that they arrived with all the pins pushed down and you just have to flip them to the up position where you want.

My all-in-one printer/copier/fax at work occasionally has a bad day and doesn't feel like answering the fax line. So, one little pin pulled up on this timer gives it a tiny nap in the middle of the night and a fresh outlook on the day. In other words, fewer missed faxes. I used to have a router that could have benefited from a daily reboot, but I replaced it before I tried this timer trick on it.
