Great adapter for new phones!

I just bought the new galaxy S8 for myself and my wife. Once opening the package I was surprised my Micro-USB chargers wouldn't work. I had a home charger, car charger, external power bank, charger at work etc. Do I have to replace all of these I thought? Not anymore with these little adapters! TLDR: Great adapter choice with a handy chain.

TLDR: Great adapter choice with a handy chain. I chose these particular adapters ($8.99 at time of purchase) among the dozens on Amazon for a few reasons: 1) Chain! Super handy. Clip it onto the cord and you don't have to worry about losing the tiny adapter when it isn't in use, or put one on a keychain for those times when you need to use someone else's cord on the go. 2) No brand logos. There's just a USB symbol on one side and "TYPE-C" on the other side. 3) 4-pack. YOU get an adapter, and YOU get and adapter, and YOU get an adapter...! The adapters were packaged surprisingly nicely with a small box and a form-fitted plastic insert to separate the individual pieces and chains. Both the the male and female ends of the adapters themselves have nice, solid fits with no danger of slippage. I was initially concerned with how much punishment the chain would take, so for the heck of it - having already attached two to my most-used micro USB cords - I chained the other two together and tossed them to my cats for 15 minutes. Both survived multiple games of tug of war and lots of chewing, so I'm pretty confident that they will hold up okay. So if you're like me, you made sure to buy a few nice extra long micro USB cables for charging and connection purposes. Kindles, external hard drives, phones... Then products start switching to type C and you toss your hands up in frustration because, hey, why did I get these then? You have devices of both USB types (let's not even deal with mini USB right now...), and you don't want to bring a cord for every device if you don't have to. This handy little adapter variant will solve your problems and make sure that you don't lose the little guy at the bottom of a bag, underneath the driver's seat, etc. As a final note, since I've had cords and adapters fail and loosen over time, I'll update if these fail to pass muster in the future, but so far so good.

Definitely impressed

My wife and I recently upgraded from the Samsung S4 to the S8; we each received a USB adapter for our wall chargers but we needed more - for our cars and portable chargers. These are AMAZING! They fit perfectly and work great; brilliant idea having the keychain attached, as it makes it extremely easy to keep it WITH each charger. As you can see from my pictures, we keep them attached to the portable charger -- easy to slide up and connect and remove when the charger itself needs to be charged while keeping them together. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Money savers when switching to USB-C devices

Just upgraded two phones to ones with USB-C ports but still had many good micro-USB cables. Saved a lot of money. The attached chains/clips I imagine are intended for carrying on your keychain, but they work beautifully by simply attaching to your micro-USB cable directly (shown in picture) to hang there until you need it. Literally ALL of my other devices are micro-USB still so this method works much better than carrying two sets of cables everywhere. As a bonus, the slight injection molding manufacturing defects in the rubber tip actual help dramatically. Some of our old, worn out cables that don't clip in place due to the tiny spring tension crabs on all micro-USB tips, are actually held firmly too these tips by that little extra bit of rubber squeezing onwards. Who knew! Would definitely buy again, at least until all my micro-USB cables due or old devices are replaced.

Well designed adapters from MicroUSB to the newer USB-C devices!

The best adapter I've used. After getting the Galaxy S8+ recently, I decided that many of our newer USB cables needed an upgrade. I got to use the adapter provided with my new phone, but it had a flaw that this lovely bit makes up for. It fell off! Now, these units have a nice chain that keeps them attached to the cord, if that's your fancy, and it is mine. You could also attach them to a keyring, zipper tab, or even your nose ring, if that's your thing. The reward is; they aren't just going to disappear for unexplained reasons. They come in an easy to open [amazing!] plastic blister pak. The chains aren't attached, you can chose to use them or not. Keyword-your choice. These adapters fit snugly on a MicroUSB male end, and without a big gap. They give you flexible options if you have devices that use USB-C or the old standard. I tested all four, and they all worked flawlessly, so I would recommend them to anyone who wants to use their old cables without breaking the budget.

Great fit/build and fast charge thru-put

When I backpack, I carry 2 charging cables - a micro USB for my camera and GPS, and a USB C for my Samsung phone. I'm a gram nerd, so I picked these up so I could just carry one cable and this little adapter. Expecting that they don't support USB 3.0 fast charging, I didn't really care because all I wanted to do was save a couple ounces but still be able to charge my devices overnight. I am not disappointed at all with these adapters. They have worked great on my power banks for charging the above mentioned devices. My Samsung phone charge time was my biggest concern, but I notice zero slow-down on charge times when using this adapter through a quality micro USB cable. I'm rather impressed, actually. The female end mates up snugly with the micro USB cable and stays on firm. The male USB C end also fits great in my Samsung S8, even with a big bulky case on it. The adapters are slim and built solid, and they include a little lobster claw keychain that you can clip right to your cable so you won't lose it. Great idea. I haven't tested these adapters when transferring data yet. Based on charge times, I would expect that data transfer would work fine but if I have an issue with that, I'll update this review. So now I carry just 1 micro USB cable and this adapter, and I can charge any electronics that I bring with me with no noticeable slow-down in charge times. One less thing to fiddle with on the trial.

Can't live without it!

Fantastic little gadgets that will help anyone transitioning from older USB connectors on their phone to type 3 connectors! For nearly nothing both of my kids and I have adapters always available.

The adapter is PERFECT. I upgraded from Tracfone cell service to Google Fi Project cell phone service and purchased a Nexus 5. I was mad at first when it had the new Micro USB-C on it because that meant buying a bunch of new cables. Perfect set for home, my car, and for taking to school. That put me on the hunt for something cheaper than the USB-C cables and chargers. The I found these USB-C adapters and that ELIMINATED the necessity to purchase new cables. There are other options but I like having the Chain/Lanyard so that if I am charging a regular Micro USB device I can unplug it and it hangs off the cable without losing it and I can also hook one onto my key chain to have handy at all times. I read other reviews that said getting the chain hooked on to the adapter was difficult. I didn't find it difficult, I just used my finger nail to separate the ring and then hook it on. (See Pic) Great Customer Service. I did have a problem with my first order. They didn't send the chains / lanyards as described. I contacted the seller directly and they quickly responded with an apology and a code for 99% off another set. I would have given 3 or 4 stars if I had customer service issues but that was not the case. They earned 5-Stars for the product and overall service.

This is a DEFINITE MUST HAVE!!

With all of the new smartphones and gadgets converting the new USB-C cable, these adaptors came in very handy by converting the Micro-USB in to a USB-C cable by merely attaching the adapter to the Micro-USB side of your charging cable. Don't worry about losing the adapter because it also comes with a small chain with lobster claw claps at the end of each side. One for the USB-C adapter and the larger clasp to fit around your Micro-USB cable. The clasp were specially designed not to slip of the cable once the clasp is closed. You will want to buy at least a couple of packages because with 4 USB-C adapter in a package, you are surely to have more than 4 Micro-USB cables that you will need an adapter on. For example, the car charger, the cable by the bed, the living room, the bathroom, the kitchen, out in the gazebo by the pool, & don't forget in the pouch you carry your portable battery charger that you will take to the beach, park, airplane that's stranded on the tarmac, or the cruise. I am glad I purchased mine when I did, otherwise I would be scrambling and going to The Big Box store to get me some Micro USB-B to USB-C adapter to pay for to five times as much.
