Holy Stone HS190 Mini Drone

I got this for my son and grandson for Christmas so that they could get the feel of using a drone before we went expensive, but from the beginning it didn’t seem to respond as it should. Since he was trying it out in the house on Christmas Day, he decided to take it on a drive he and his wife and son took the day after Christmas, to try flying it in an open space. It went into the air and seemed to be doing OK, when suddenly it just took off on its own and disappeared...there one minute and gone the next. They looked for it, but as tiny as it is, it was impossible to find. So whether it actually was faulty will always be a mystery....along with its current location. UPDATE: This company’s customer service is the best..absolutely. A wonderful lady named Tiffany contacted me regarding our escapee drone from last Christmas, and offered to replace it so that my son and grandson could give it another try. She was great, very knowledgeable about flying the drone, also sending me a list of tips for getting started and flying it. That was May 3, and today, May 6, the new drone was in my mailbox. I am so impressed with the service they provided. It is so unusual for a company to care enough about the customer and stand behind their product to the point that they contact the customer and provide a new item as a result of a review. Customer service, for me, is more than half the battle, and theirs is 100%! Thank you so much!!!

Phenomenal performance. I bought this one for a present but it wasn't going to arrive in time, went to Wal-Mart and picked one up and gave it as the present. We played with it for a bit, it was alright. Came home and this one had arrived so I charged it up, the difference is night and day, price was the same. I've been flying rc aircraft for 8 years, so far this drone easily maxed out my skill capacity and there's still more to learn about it. BEST PART, my wife who has no experience at all can fly it and land it flawlessly. Great design, high quality so far and perfectly clear instructions, you can tell the manual writer spoke English well! Cones with tons of spare parts, thank God. This is my first break into the drone world and im very impressed. P.S. tried out the fast speed on the first night of playing with it.... ohhh boy.

Fun Drone for all ages.

Bought this for my 8 yr old's birthday....wanting a drone that was entry level. He wanted one that was really small, that he could pack with him and take camping. He was so stoked!! He said it was his "bestest" birthday gift of all. He and his dad had it flying within 15 minutes....after a quick trip to the local store for batteries. We especially liked the one button up and one button down feature, as I was picturing major crashes trying to land. We like it so much we are looking to get one for his sister for her birthday....she's 10. After about 2 weeks they had trouble with 2 of the motors not firing up. I called Holy Stone and they are standing behind the unit 100%. Many thanks to Ally.....and the crew there. I will update after installing the new motors. Will be a great experiment in wiring for the youngster. He is so happy that his drone will fly again! Yes....I would definitely buy from this company again. Customer service is excellent.

Has altitude control! non-serviceable battery, how every seems to hover and do tricks for quite a while and charges very respectable from either the included charge cord or from the Remote. takes 4 AAA batteries for remote. Had problem with my second HS190. Frustrated, I contacted Holy Stone. Feeling it was a manufacture defect and trying to prove it with a video was too much hassle, however Tina with Holy Stone was very persistent over the phone and texts to bring back a smile to my face. Personal thanks to the whole Holy Stone team.

Easy and fun to fly. Great customer support.

This drone is easy and fun to fly. Mine didn't come with a camera holder and I am working with Holy Stone to get one. Warning, don't buy extra batteries as "recommend by others who purchased the drone". The battery is built in. Don't waste your money like I did. When you read the information on Amazon, I didn't read anywhere that there's a camera on the drone for FPV. When I received the drone and read the instructions, it clearly has instructions to download app and connect to the camera via wifi. My drone doesn't send transmit a wifi signal to sync phone to. I am working with Holy Stone on this issue, too. I will update my review on my experience with Holy Stone customer support in time. Update 4-24-17. Just like another review, my drone went crazy and I had no control. I re-calibrated it and it worked fine for two minutes and went crazy again and has not regained it's sanity. It was a little embarrassing, as it happened in front co-workers thinking about buying one. I am returning it. Another note, I ordered the HS190 model and received the HS 190W model, which states on the box and instructions that it has wifi, HD camera and FPV. I could never find a wifi signal on iphone, laptop or ipad. My drone has a bright LED light on the front where the camera lens is supposed to be. How can a LED bright light work as a camera too? I think they stuck a HS190 drone inside a HS190W box. Update 4-27-17. Holy Stone customer support is very good. They are sending me a new drone and letting me keep the old crazy one for spare parts. They did say the use the same package for the 190 and 190W model, which as to the confusion when you read about the features of the 190W with camera a wifi.

Great drone for beginners and fun for more experienced flyers!

I ordered this drone due to having all the features that I enjoy. Altitude hold along with touch of a button speed control, headless mode, take off, landing, return and spin! Unfortunately when it arrived the altitude hold was defective. the first flight resulted in in going straight up with me not being able to control the altitude. Fortunately I was inside so the ceiling stopped it. I submitted a return request and was contacted by Holy Stone. They offered to send me a replacement and it arrived within a few days. The new one flies wonderfully and I am able to enjoy all of the features. I would not hesitate to purchase additional products from Holy Stone due to their great customer service that is so rare nowadays. My only wish would be that they would make a mini drone with all of these features and also have the ability to change the battery. Flight time for the HS190 is about 7-8 min, recharge takes about 30min. Other than that I would highly recommend the HS190 to anyone that enjoys flying drones!

My favorite nano quadcopter so far

I am finding that Holy Stone's HS series drones are a lot better than their F series drones. I am also finding that the HS190 flies and handles way better than the fragile Eachine nano quadcopters I have had. This drone has stable altitude hold and responds readily to the controller. I finally have a beginner drone where I can actually perform/practice funnels and bank turns. Flips work great as does its high-speed rotation feature. I am getting about 8 minutes of flight on a charge, and recharging takes about 30 minutes. This is my first drone which can be stored in the controller case, and I really like this pocket-able footprint. Only (minor) "thing" is that I used the propellor guards on my first flight (wasn't sure how it would fly), then have taken them off since. You can't store the drone in the case with the guards on. UPDATE March 29, 2017: To give credit when due, Holy Stone Customer Service sent me a crash pack free of charge when they learned that I had bent a propellor within the first 30 days. I had only enquired about where to get a spare propellor. So I am delighted with their "service" - although I had already given the drone 5 stars because it is such a fun flyer.
