Straight or Folding Utility Knife????

Over the last few years I have ordered a number of utility knives ... folding utility knives. One day I came across one of my father's old utility knives, similar to this one. After using it I decided to order some updated ones ... and ordered this set. Although the folding knives are more comfortable in my pocket I have to say I have a definite preference for these knives and am back to order more ... for the following reasons: - The knife blade is adjustable to where you can use just the tip of the knife ... or have full use of the tip and the rest of the blade. Folding knives just give you one option and unless careful, you can easily cut into something that shouldn't be cut into! - I'm finding on my folding knives that the blades begin to wobble. I don't like that and I haven't found a way of fixing them. Also, the metal part of the knife that holds the blades in place get loose on some of my folding knives. - I like being able to have room within the knife to store an extra blade. - Finally, I'm getting on in years and have arthritis in my hands. With a folding blade I have to stop and use both hands to open the damn thing. When not in use I feel I have to close it to prevent a child, animal ... and yes, an adult from harming themselves. Our grandmother's were right ... "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". I cringe when I see a child's little hands reaching up for an open blade. So, no matter what knife I use I always close it before I put it down ... and, these knives make this much easier. I realize some people can open and close a folding knife with one hand, but those days are over for me now! Yes, I still like some aspects of folding utility knives, but overall these are now my preference. There is one folding knife that I was sorry I purchased ... at first. However, now it is one that I definitely would like a few more of ... and now I can't find it. It not only has a knife, but other things like a pail opener, etc. It has come in handy on more than a few occasions. I'm a simple person and I don't need a fancy knife to use. Unlike my brother who carries a knife that is scares me the moment he pulls it out of his pocket. It definitely does the job and he enjoys being asked to open packages just so he can use it. Can' blame him for carrying it though ... he was a victim of a violent crime. That changes you. Anyway, definitely give this utility knife a try. And, I agree with the review by Beth Silhasek where she thinks Amazon should give these to people for free. I certainly receive enough boxes from Amazon that it would be a nice thank you for being a Prime Member!

Pretty Good!

I needed a new one for work and these are pretty good! Reasonable price, easy grip and overall a good product. Would buy again!

Prime Box Dilemma

Bought this primarily to breakdown all of the prime boxes after orders. Extremely sharp blades. Can't beat this for the price. Cuts feel like a hot knife through butter.

Great Value

For the price point that I purchased these at, it is a good buy. We just moved and have a lot of cardboard boxes to break down so the little ones weren't going to work for us anymore. It's pretty sharp, watch where you place your hands when you use it - with that said, it cuts through corrugated cardboard like it is butter.

Prime Member Survival Kit

Easy to use and makes opening my Amazon shipments and breaking down boxes a breeze! I feel like they should give these to all prime members for free. It's the one thing that would make sense.

The classic full sized box cutter

This is the classic box cutter. It appears to be sturdily and well made, and the slide operates smoothly. I was tired of always looking for something to open packages with and you can never have too many of these.
