Work well with all types of cabinets

I searched several products to find something that would work well with my full depth drawers which have a full panel and wouldn’t work with many types of childproof locks. These work great and are very effective (so far) against my strong willed toddler. I hooked them up at the tops of my drawers since there isn’t clearance on the sides and it’s working well. The magnets work through the double thickness of wood (1.5”) and on various cabinet configurations (no center divider, lazy Suzan corner door, top drawers, 33” wide drawers. I had to order a second set of keys because we are lazy and don’t want to reach more than one cabinet away to get into our stuff. But the little sticky pad allows us to put it on the underside of the upper cabinets for easy reach. I also like that I am able to turn off the lock function temporarily when I have people over and don’t want to deal with childproofing. Overall very pleased and even told my sister to add to her registry!

These came JUST IN TIME! My firstborn was not the explorer that my second born is. We actually have to baby-proof this time around, and it has been a super exciting journey to wake up everyday and see what else my 14 month old can get into! She recently discovered the 20 or so lower cabinets we have in our kitchen and bathrooms, I was so over having to replace the contents of every cabinet multiple times per day. Our home was new construction when we bought it and none of the cabinets have any knobs on them, so most of the traditional baby-proofing for cabinets would not work, as we didn't want to add any knobs. We also hated the idea of drilling and damaging our beautiful cabinets just to add hideous plastic contraptions in hopes they would keep the baby out. GOOD NEWS, if you're like us and detest the majority of hideous baby-proofing contraptions that permanently alter the appearance of your cabinets and/or require that your cabinets have knobs, ORDER THESE! They're easy to install and they work!

Strong and Works as Advertised

I like the packaging because it arrived in a nice, strong plastic packaging that you couldn't damage the product even if you tried. Everything pictured was in place. 12 of the locks and 2 keys, assuming one per each parent. Having browsed and researched through nearly every similar product here, this is by far the best deal. Feels like you get a lot for the money. Anyways, installation was so easy; don't know how anyone can have a problem with it. Made from good and sturdy 3M tape that seems to be holding up just fine with my 2 year old. Couldn't ask for a better product. It works as advertised and came in a timely manner! Would highly recommend!

Great product and great customer service!

I've been looking into baby proofing my drawers/cabinets and came across this product on the web. I didn't really want to drill any holes into my dressers/cabinets, so the adhesive option looked appealing. The packaging of the product itself was really bad. It came partly opened and the items were scattered around the box. I reached out to the company and they were really quick to respond and address my issues. They informed me that they were aware of the poor packaging and had already updated their packaging. Unfortunately, I received one of the last batches from the old packaging. The company was really nice and helpful and addressed all of my concerns. They event went above and beyond what I had expected since I was having issues mounting it to a recessed drawer that did not have enough real estate to mount the catch to the dresser frame. I'm hoping the suggestion they provided will work out for me for that setup. However, for the normal drawers and cabinet setups, the magnet locks worked perfectly! The adhesive is easy to put on and mount it to where you need it. It really works best on cabinets and non-recessed drawers. It did work for some of my recessed drawers where I had enough space to mount it to the frame of the dresser, so I am hoping the workaround will work for my needs. Overall, the product is great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to baby proof their dressers/cabinets. I'll be buying more if I find more places where I need to baby proof. **UPDATE** The workaround provided by the company worked great! I’ve attached a photo of how I had to set it up to work with my dresser drawer. The top frame was too thin to put the catch on there. It hit the drawer when I closed it. They provided me this workaround where I mounted a wooden block to the inside of the frame so I could attach the catch to that. I did not have to screw anything down. Just used adhesive tapes. The drawer works perfectly with the lock and striker plate now. The level of customer service I received went well beyond my expectations. I will definitely be referring these to my friends and family to use for baby proofing options for dressers and cabinets!

Works great

Works great. However, the keys are not well made. One was dropped on the floor and smashed. The seller contact me right away, and sent me 6 complimentary locks and 2 keys. I never asked for a replacement, but this is a great customer service. Thank you for such a great product.

Great for Grandparents

These are very good latches and can withstand a 1 year old pulling hard on them. The nice thing for grandparents is that when the kids go back home, you can flip the switch from Lock to Unlock and have free access to all those dangerous chemicals under the sink - or get free access to that candy carousel (lazy susan). It was a little tricky installing the components in the right location, but as long as you don't press the parts down hard to start with and test each one, it is possible to remove a poorly positioned latch or catch using constant pressure to unstick it. Those glue pads stick hard! There was a plastic guide that came with the kit, but I couldn't figure out how to use it, or get it out of the plastic bag as it was stuck with static. Trial and error and patience worked and by the end of the 10th install, I almost knew what I was doing. We keep the opening magnet high on the fridge, above their artwork.

Love these locks!

These cabinet locks are awesome! They're inconspicuous, but more importantly they WORK! It took a couple of tries to get the position of the locks just right, but we figured it out without issue. My 9.5 month old tugs on the cabinets all day long and they don't budge. They even work to keep the cats out of the food cabinet! Hah! There is an "unlock" setting so you don't have to use the magnetic key each time (useful if you're cooking and need to get into the cabinets frequently within a short time period). We even added one to the old entertainment center door; we had to be a little creative because it's the type of door that you have to push in before it opens, but it worked! I do wish we could purchase an extra key separately, but we can certainly get by with the 2 provided. I recommend these to everyone with kids!

I wish I had these when my oldest was born!

I love these locks! I’ve had the same “old fashioned” locks on my cabinets for the last 7 years and many of them are slipping and are no longer effective. These locks are a quick and easy replacement. I’ll admit the first set I installed required a few adjustments but once I figured out the placement, the rest were super easy. Pros: *Goes on without any tools. Just take the backing off the adhesive and stick! I recommend sticking it very lightly at first to ensure you have the correct positioning. *Locks have 2 positions: One allows you to keep the cupboards locked (use the magnetic key to open) and the other position allows you to open your doors freely. This comes in handy if your kids will not be around for a little while. *The doors don’t open at all when locked. Now my little one won’t pinch his fingers as he does with the older style locks (which allow the door to open a few inches). *Comes with 2 magnetic keys in case one gets lost Cons: *I’m a sucker for clear directions, and these directions were very poorly written. However, it only took me about 5 minutes of trial and error to install the first lock. *Lock opens best with the magnetic key. I envision both keys getting lost at some point which makes opening the cupboards a little more challenging. I experimented a little and was able to open the door with a strong magnet. Normal thin refrigerator magnets did not work. Overall, I am super happy with this purchase! I may get a second set to use in my bathrooms. I enjoy writing quality reviews. Works fabulous with flat surface but not on scalloped cabinets

I'm giving these 5 stars because the installation and concept is 5 stars, hands down. IF you have cabinets that don't have scalloping or thick trim, they'll work just great. The issue we have in our home with our cabinets is that we have scalloping on our cabinets and the wood is too thick to trigger the magnet. The magnet is SUPER strong, but just not strong enough to trigger the lock. I WISH they worked for our home! If we re-do our cabinets, I'd use these again HANDS DOWN.

So Simple, and Easy to Install and Use.

I purchased this product on a whim really as part of a multi-item order. It was something I had always wanted to get around to since I have a little kid, but hadn't quite gotten to yet. I received the product and it arrived as it looks in the image with all of the parts there and functional. There are instructions provided, but anyone with just a little bit of common sense can install these on their own (still recommend reading the instructions first). The Eco-Baby Magnetic locks are very simple to install, and as I am not the most handy person, this is great. They use 3M Tape/Stickem as a bonding agent, so there is no drilling required. Once in place, they are for the most part, stuck there though. Be sure to be precise in your placement. I say mostly stuck in place because they can be removed with a little bit of effort. However, this will ruin the integrity of the product and don't recommend it if it can be helped. Once in place, they really work. It frustrated my kid to no end who was used to opening the doors. So they do hold well, and work as described. One use of the magnet over the locking mechanism, and the door pops open with ease. There is also a feature located on the locking mechanism itself that will turn off the lock so that you don't even need the magnet to open the doors (which in my opinion, is a great feature to have). All in all a great product and would highly recommend them. The price is exactly what I would expect to pay for them, the items are of high quality. I would totally buy these again if I had a need, and will recommend them to friends with babies.
