Great Globe for kids
Very pleased with the illuminated Globe, a bit smaller than I expected, but will work for my 7 year old Granddaughter who is learning about the continents and oceans of the world. The light feature is very nice, especially if the globe is in a dark room. It's perfect for a child to learn about different places in the world.

Just the right size
My Great Grandson asked for a globe for Christmas. He is only 7 so when I saw this globe I knew it woul be perfect. I love the bright colors and the fact that it lights up. I thought when I ordered it it said it was 10 inches but when it came it was only 8 inches. That was my only disappointment. But, I think he will love it anyway. Thank you,

Perfect small globe
Great little globe. While it may be listed as a toy, I actually bought it for my 96 year old mother. It really helps her understand the spatial relationships between various countries and allows her to follow the exploits of her great-grandchildren. The demarcation of borders and the size of the font is clear and easy to read, maybe with the help of a magnifying glass for the smaller countries.

Sturdy Readable Globe
We use this globe as part of our class room. We home school our 9 year old grand daughter and use the globe often to find locations referenced in science, social studies, art, music and literature Beautiful colors, lots of info and a readable typeface

Nice quality but small
The globe is nice quality for the price - easy to read text. However I was surprised when I received it to find it is only 8" diameter...standard globe size is 12". I must have missed the size in the description. I think it would be good if the size is included in the product heading.

We absolutely love this little globe
We absolutely love this little globe. The package says ages 8+, but it's perfect for our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter! Clearly printed countries, states, cities, light enough for her to carry around, stable base (does not topple over ever), small enough to fit on dresser, small table, in tent, anywhere! And is illuminated! She knew it was the "planet Earth" as soon as she saw it (learned it in nursery school!), so we all were very thrilled and thought the timing was perfect. A great little 'starter' globe - bought it with the new book "Where We Are" - a perfect combo for a perfect stage of development. Highly recommended!!!!

fits nicely inside a bookshelf !
For a small diamemter A smaller than standard globe that is very well marked, easy to read, and dont have to plug in. I love brightly colored countries making it easy to see their size and borders. I was also surprised at how perfectly even this globe lights up, you don"t have to get a flash light For a small size , this globe is well marked, easy to read, not overly detailed, and the bright colors really help you see the size and borders of the different countries. I love how evenly it illuminates, and how I can use it in a dark room. the only neg. I would say, is that you will need a very small phillips head screwdriver to put in the batteries!

Wonderful tool/resource for an aged avid PBS addict.
I have a globe in another room, two wall maps in my husband's den... But none are easily or quickly available when a PBS or Nova special says, but doesn't show, a location. For me the final straw was the PBS comment in a Blue Planet episode....."southeast coast of Alaska". East??? Really, East??....So I searched for small globes....And found this. I love it. Lit so a 72 year-old can read it day or night....Hand sized, close by....my questions answered in seconds....It needs gentle care I'm happy to give it.

My 3 year old loves his illuminated globe, although ...
My 3 year old loves his illuminated globe, although now he's convinced that a trip to Russia isn't that far because we can just go over Canada and Alaska (ha!). But really, it's helping him understand the shape of the Earth and the concept of countries and oceans. It makes him excited, and so I'm excited too.
